First, they lured me in with an introductory rate, but made no mention that it was an introductory rate. My rent has increased 42% in 16 months. The possibility of rent increases are in the contract, but that kind of hike needs to be made abundantly clear from the start ("this is an introductory price ..." . I was extremely surprised at all of the increases I've had in just over one year's time. But, they got me. Access to storage is not much longer than normal business hours, which can be problematic. What's worse, they require you to provide proof of insurance or they will automatically bill you for monthly insurance. Unfortunately their central office and local office are not always on the same page, so I will receive notices multiple times a year from each for me to send them my insurance policy, even after I've already done it. In 16 months I've had to be on the phone with them somewhere in the 5 to 10 times range with billing or insurance problems, and add to that multiple emails. I send them stuff and they conveniently don't receive it. Last time, the proof I showed wasn't enough and they needed the declarations page from my actual policy and additional insurance info. I've got to contact my insurance company and find out the information that they want. All of this so that they can charge me an extra $12 a month. This sort of thing happens multiple times per year. Absolute madness. But I have so much stuff in storage that I would have to hire a moving truck to get it out and into a new unit with a new company. They have me over a barrel, and they know it. What an absolute mistake I made renting from this company. Huge regrets. This is the absolute worst experience I've ever had renting from a storage space, and I have been doing this for well over 15 years. Save your time (so, so much time) and money and stay away from this company.

(They still have their pandemic social distancing message on their voicemail, which tells you the last time they paid attention to their customers.) For what they charge, you'd think they would put customer needs first, but instead they tell you everything they can't do. We were nearly unable to move some of our things out because the access to the underground lot changed--and management told us it was not their problem even though they are the tenant of the mall. I never used and was unable to use this space because: 1. They had my assigned space locked, preventing me from accessing it, and there was no one onsite to help me. 2. The entire facility smelled like musty, moldy basement. Storing my things there would result in all my belongings smelling the same. I had an allergic reaction any time I entered the facility and continued having symptoms for three days afterward. I used the on-site kiosk a handful of times for help. At one point, another manager came from a nearby Public Storage site to assist. She agreed the facility smelled awful and said she couldn't keep her things there either. She said her location was not in a basement and did not smell like mold and mildew like this one. She told me to come back at 9:30 a.m. the next day as the appropriate manager should be on site at that time. I arrived the next morning and waited for the on-site manager who was well aware of the odor issue and refunded only $21.71 for the lock, saying I'd have to call corporate for the rest as he was unable to transfer my account to another location or facility. I first tried transferring to another Public Storage location by phone but was basically told I was free to use another storage business if I chose. I then tried to transfer or resolve my issue through the Public Storage website. Their website said I could transfer, when I clicked the "chat" box, a list of options came up. One option was to transfer. It says, "We are more than happy assist you transfer to a different space OR LOCATION. Please reach out to your property manager or call us at 800-567-0759 to discuss your desire to transfer." I had already talked to the onsite manager who said he couldn't transfer my account so I called the number for corporate and the person I spoke with said she was transferring my account to another location. When that location called to confirm my reservation, however, they said there was no way to transfer between locations. I told them I followed the instructions on their website to transfer to another location and was told on the phone my account was transferred. They said they would look into that and call me back but they never did. I tried talking with Public Storage corporate again by phone a few days ago and ultimately requested a full refund. They called back before 7:30(!) this morning saying they will not refund my money and hung up on me when I told them that was unacceptable! I am now forced to go through other channels for requesting payment reversal or a full refund as I was never able to use the storage space and their business practices are deceitful and predatory. Steer clear of this business, there are many other options for storage.

In the last couple months, since he's been gone, my rent increased dramatically, without warning. My rent is now a considerable amount more than what your website offers at same location, for a smaller unit! I have voiced my concerns with someone at the store and they said all they could do is forward them to their boss. It's been a month, and have heard nothing. I went online looking for answers and the ai operator tried to gaslight me. There's always someone new in the office and none nearly as knowledgeable as Chris. The front gates have been left open after hours. There have been units broken into, from inside the building. It's not as clean and orderly and a lock is now on the only trash dispenser on the property. You're worried about the trash, and not the safety of me or my belongings!! And your dramatic price hikes, without warning, are criminal. I will no longer recommend this place.

    I have used this storage center for over 20 years. I am not sure when US Storage took over, but…read moresince then the service has deteriorated. When I worked the only time I could go to the unit was during the noon hour. This was before there was a door that could be open with code. 9 times out of 10 the office would be closed and I couldn't get in. The new door made access easier except when it didn't work, which was more than a few times. Last weekend I was unable to enter because the door was down and the staff took the weekend off. This was incredibly inconvenient and cost me a weekend of Christmas decoration. When I finally was able to contact a live person a very weak apology was given. My unit has been broken into twice. They did make adjustments to the door which seems to have solved that problem. The cost of the unit goes up every year and the service goes down. Lates fees are oppressive so pay on time. Don't expect any compensation from them if you can't access unit. If you wonder why I'm still with them the answer is I am disabled and I would have to first find another unit and then hire a mover. As soon as I am able that is what I will do. To summarize the customer service here is the worst I have ever had to deal with. If by some chance someone from US Storage try's to call me, I have tried to change the contact number multiple times . Every time they call they call the line they told me they would change.

My other issue is there inconsistent hours of accessibility to your storage. They open at 7 AM to 8 PM, but now under management have revise their hours without notice. I'm not able to access my storage at the time of operating hours. I'm not really sure what their hours are???

    I must say that this location is going to be my absolute super duper number one U-Haul from now on!…read more Sadly, I'd originally reserved a moving truck at a different location closer to me (4240 W Camelback Rd | Phoenix, AZ 85019) for the sake of convenience. However upon visiting that location (on 43rd Camelback) I was completely dismayed as their staff was beyond rude, unfriendly, unaccountable, and overall unprofessional. It left a very bad impression on me; thus I contacted Customer Service to modify my pickup to another store. Luckily, the CSR I spoke with was able to complete a reservation which fit my moving needs for a 20ft truck on 26th Street & Indian School! Preemptively, I arrived one day prior to my reservation just to check in and make sure everything was all set for my moving day. It was then that a member of staff named "Jimmy" kindly greeted me and assisted with any/all concerns I had for my pickup day!!! Jimmy was friendly, most patient, gave excellent recommendations for movingly supplies and assured everything was set to go smoothly for my rental! I arrived the next day and was helped by two additional gentlemen who sufficiently checked me in for my truck rental. They were so concise and professional when informing me of all safety apparatus entailed with my rental! And to top that the 20Ft truck they supplied for my reservation was immaculate--seriously the cleanest UHaul I've ever rented! I feel so bad though because I (regretfully) didn't get to note either of their names to ensure proper credit could be received for their all of their hard work! Thank you all so much again! This is my new favorite location in Phoenix!!!

    I stopped in to pick up a mattress bag I had purchased online and I also rented a 10' truck to move…read moreapartments. When I picked up the mattress bag they were having internet issues, but as I had prepaid for the bag online I don't think I should have had to wait for over 20 minutes. I also booked the truck online for mobile pickup in hopes of having a smoother process but that was not the case. There's no point to mobile pickup when I still had to go inside to talk to the employees four times. They had my truck parked in the wrong spot - it was in the back instead of the front. And then it was also blocked by another truck. And then the license plate number didn't match the mobile inspection. It took much longer for me to pick up this truck then it should have. The drop off process was also very slow. Poor service and organization at this location.
