The location was fairly convenient and the prices were cheaper than the other storage locations in Mountain View. WARNING!!! STAY AWAY. Biggest bait and switch. They bring you in w/$1 promotion, then increase your rent by 30% after 6 months. The place is dirty and you see dog waste in the halls (nice to see the managers have a dog on site). Just google complaints against Public storage and you will see the major issues. I rented a unit here for almost two years. Jenny and Ed are very nice and easy to work with. Access requires a code to enter the secure parking area. My unit was inside the building on the second floor. It was clean and secure. It did not have a light within the unit, but other storage places charge a higher rate for those features. They do provide flat moving carts to get stuff to and from your unit. The move-in and move-out processes were quick and easy. Thank you Jenny and Ed! read more

The managers Ed & Jenny are wonderful, and they even called us one day when we didn't get our lock on our door correctly! They are both upbeat and friendly, and at our request, found us a unit on the second floor with no outside walls. This was important because we were storing a lot of vintage books and clothes! The unit stayed dry and it was easy to get stuff in/out of. All in all, no complaints. We highly recommend this Public Storage. read more

My belief is "if you need outside storage, you have too much stuff." However, having just received a lot of family heirlooms, china, etc. and looking at a new roof and remodel, we were overwhelmed with stuff to move...at least temporarily. Picked this place because it is close by. The prices are reasonable, and I like the whole set up. Jenny helped me get signed up. She was very patient and helpful. After less than 24 hours, our place is feeling less messy and less crowded with extra stuff. More to move when it is "new roof time"...ugh...but glad to be set up with Public Storage. read more

I kept my things here for about 2.5 months. Ed was helpful in letting me prorate the price for August since I only needed it for the first few days of the month. The facility isn't as nice as some other Public Storages I've been to (a bit run down looking). Also, there will be many costs other than the $ per month cost you see on the website. Included in these extra costs are insurance, buying a lock, and tax. If you have your own lock, bring it and save $10. I didn't expect too much. I just need a place to store some items. And this Public Storage facility lived up to that minimal expectation. read more

I had never rented a storage unit before & knew absolutely nothing about the process or the choices. My first stop was the Public Storage on Old Middlefield Ave, Mt. View. Jenny was so kind & incredibly helpful. She explained my choices but as it turned out because of the Memorial Day special there were no units that met my needs at that facility. Not a problem, she called Ed at the 830 N. Rengstorff Ave. Mt View facility and asked if there were units available in the size I needed. There were and I then met Ed who couldn't have been more helpful. He reviewed a few choices and helped me select the very best price - actually the last unit at half price. He showed me around, I saw the unit and it was a done deal. The facility is immaculate and Ed insures that it stays that way. When I returned a few days later, he was sweeping the parking area and stopped to greet me by name ! Who does that ? You absolutely will not be disappointed by the facility or the staff at the 2 Public Storage facilities I have mentioned. Best of luck and be sure to ask for Jenny or ED ! read more

Ed and Jenny were so helpful and sweet to my boyfriend and I, as it was our first time renting a storage unit. My boyfriend and I were on a budget and thought that a smaller unit was enough to store all of our items. However when we arrived, Ed and Jenny told us that they were having a huge sale that month because they were getting ready for the onslaught of summer moves with families and students from Stanford University. With the sale, we were able to upgrade to a much bigger unit, and boy did we need it. I don't know how my boyfriend did it, but things were stacked to the ceiling and all the way to the door- it would have been horrible to have moved everything in to find out that we needed a bigger space, but thanks to Ed and Jenny we were able to finish moving in one long day. Very nice managers - a friendly, helpful couple. The storage unit was very clean. There was a ramp at one of the doors that desperately needed to be repaired. The concrete was broken into pieces so the surface was very uneven. We ended up dropping our items from the cart due to the unbalanced surface and broke a few things. I would rent from them again. Hope they repair the ramp asap. read more

I have nothing but high praise for how we were handled by Ed and Ginny when both signing up for our unit and during the move in. In fact, Ed in particular was magnificent in helping us through a crisis when we realized on a Sunday afternoon movement of our son's apartment furniture and belongings that our chosen initial unit would be too small.
