After six months they increased the price by 25% so I would recommend inquiring about price increases when you sign up. What's worse, about 7 months into the agreement, a billing snafu on Public Storage's site resulted in my Auto Pay suddenly being turned off. It was nearly impossible to get someone on the phone who could help explain what had occurred. When I finally spoke with the regional manager Elena, she was extremely helpful in straightening things out but the following month the Auto Pay was still off and I was charged a late fee of $24 after Elena restored my Auto Pay. She refused to credit me the $24 saying she had removed the charges the previous month! (Did I mention it was a billing snafu on their end? My credit card company stated on three separate calls that they did not deny the charges.) I would not recommend this facility unless you have time to go into the store and pay cash each month. Otherwise, if you are a person with a 9-5 job who must rely on automated payments working once configured, then look elsewhere. read more

Watch out for the billing and check your receipt carefully. My receipt had two different amounts due and Aida could not explained to me why there were two prices. No one at customer service seemed to think a receipt indicating that one owes two different amounts was a problem except for me. The recipe and questions over just how much I was going to have to pay in future months forced me to cancel and to find another storage company. Also when Aida tried to "refund" my charge of $60 for the first month that receipt only refunded me $27. Something is seriously wrong with their accounting/billing system. read more

Today I rented a storage unit at the McLean PS location. The area is very clean and accessible with many entrances. The agent, Tim, was extremely knowledgable and walked me through all the paperwork very quickly. His customer-service attitude was very good. The PS website doesn't tell you that you need to insure your belongings that will be in storage so Tim worked with me so that I could contact my insurance company to ascertain that I had coverage so that I didn't need to pay PS for the insurance. You just have to request that they Fax a letter to Tim for your file. In the end Tim also made sure that I had all my questions answered before I left and that I was happy with the location of the unit. read more

I'm a returning customer, I was very happy with my rental experience at this location. Zia and Aida were both involved with my rental. Zia was kind enough to inform me I could have a hold before actually coming back and completing my rental paperwork. This was extremely helpful for me. Aida showed me around and got me the much needed 24 hour access unit and I secured one. She also got me through my paperwork in just a few minutes. I do have renters insurance and was able to provide proof to avoid getting their insurance. I wasn't pressured in any way to purchase anything from them. You will need to buy their locks as they are specifically designed for the doors of the facility. The location is clean and has plenty of parking and in a safe area. The first month of a sizeable unit will only run you around $25.00 so it's not free but cheap. Take the time to look at options and ask questions and make no assumptions and you will be satisfied. I believe they also schedule appointments to ensure you are helped in a timely manner. read more

Public Storage pulled the ol' bait and switch on us by offering a below market monthly rental to get me in and raised the rent 17% after 5 months. The representative indicated the new price was below current market value - proving that they undervalued the original estimate. If they would have given me the market value, I would never had gone there. They know you are stuck because moving out would be costly. Buyer beware, lock in for a comfortable time period to avoid being totally disappointed. read more

i rented the storage 6 months ago ,they raised the monthly price very unreasonably ,every time i went to move my stuff to the storage never found a carrier available to carry my stuff from my car to the storage unit,even the door to enter the storage units does not have a stopper i have to bring a weight with me to hold the door ,that makes the moving process a big hassle ,i gave it 3 stars because the staff are nice . read more
