Had the pleasure of having this Public Storage location be my work storage unit for 1.5 years! Convenient parking, all indoor units, incredible staff, clean area - everything was great! Also had to leave a review because the manager, Melanie, is literally the best property manager I have ever worked with about a storage unit, or anything for that matter. She was SO attentive, kind, helpful, and on top of everything. I was nervous about moving out of a storage unit for the first time and how the process goes (I didn't want to miss any steps or mess something up and be hit with a fee) but Melanie made moving out a BREEZE. I had a unique situation, too, because my storage unit was originally in someone else's name, plus I had some large things in my storage unit that wouldn't fit in my car or family's car. She explained everything to me and said she'll call me later before 6pm to touch base with me so I'm 100% set (she also had to make a few phone calls). She helped me resolve everything and if I didn't have to move storage units due to a work location issue, I'd still be here! Thank you Melanie for being extremely helpful and going above and beyond; definitely leaving Public Storage with an amazing experience in mind. read more

Not even sure about 2. I would strongly advise against using this "Ponzi scheme" all remote location. This was more than a few calls in, but I was literally 10 mins away from the facility, when I received my 3rd confirmation call about the reservation I had already made. They confirmed again the reservation, when I got there, I punch in on the kiosk, my reservation not found. There's a live video chat lady on the kiosk, she responded with, "well, it looks the unit has been" Such BS & garbage, that's literally the point of a reservation. So in short, I was lied to, manipulated, disrespected, & charged double of what I was quoted. Don't fall for the lock BS too, it's a regular padlock, they charge you $20 for! You have to pay it, they'll "reimburse" you if you have your own, yea, I'll hold my breathe for that. I've rented with them several times before, no problem, but this new automation BS, is just another way for mega million corps. to take advantage of the consumer even more. Perhaps I'll use the company again if needed, but I'll never use this or other automated only facilities read more

Chose this location to move our storage locker to and I'm very happy we did! I unfortunately can't remember the name of our representative, I want to say Chris but I'm not 100% sure. He was so kind! He welcomed us and let me know that the medium 10x7 unit I originally wanted had been rented. Luckily, I signed up for unit online and chose a move-in date so that locked in my price. He offered a large 10x15 unit at the same price. Sweet! We didn't need all that space but it made the move easier and it was great to have all the extra space. Our representative took us on a quick tour of our unit before we signed. The entire facially was extremely clean and everything seemed organized. We headed back to the front to fill out all the paper work (on an iPad). He gave us two sets of keys and provided some suggestions. I appreciated that he suggested the flatbed when moving our things in because it turned what would have been double-digit trips into 4! I really dislike moving anything so thanks Public Storage for making this experience pleasant for us! read more

Rented this unit for over a year and the price doubled within that year. Upon leaving the unit and returning my lock the outcome was an email from their team saying that I owe them $182 for a cleaning fee when I left my unit spotless. The only thing that was left inside was some dirt that was there before I came. I didn't know they expect you to mop the concrete floor inside before leaving. The outside of the units are nasty and there is trash on the ground around almost every unit. There are also bugs inside the storage unit that I am not sure what were and there are abandoned cars/trucks that make the place look trashy. I am not sure if every public storage is like this but this one is. Do your self a favor and rent from any other place. For a 10x10 unit I should not be paying $200 for a space. read more

Use it for a few months then get out. My rent has more than doubled in a few years. They basically force you out.

Soooo tired of this place. Make sure if you use Public Storage, it's for a very, very, very short time. After a few months, they will raise the rate, and keep raising it until you've had enough. The reason they give is "market value of the space". Whatever! My last increase was 40%!! Can't wait to move out of this place when my building is done. read more

While in town visiting a friend we made a stop here and the customer service was exceptional! Kim showed my friend a couple of units (which were spacious and clean) he was very helpful and patient explaining billing questions my friend had and he also had some good suggestions on extra things she could purchase in store she hadn't thought to better store the furniture. Well our grandmother passed away but she has a lot of nice furniture that we want to keep but don't have anywhere to keep it. So the search for a storage unit started. After calling several places we made an appointment at this place to see several units to ascertain which might meet our needs. The lady who was there (I can't remember her name) was very nice and showed us several units. We didn't rent that day as you can rent online for a cheaper price. I rented my actual unit from the Manager, his name is Chris, he was very kind and accommodating. We haven't had any problems so far and everyone there is extremely helpful. read more

Not recommended for a number of reasons. Price and Service are both very poor. Stay far away. My father rented this storage area (listing me as an "authorized user") because it was convenient to the senior facility across the street. At the time of the rental the well advertised ($1 for first month) rate was not available for either of the units he asked about.....and didn't seem to be available to other people either. Either the special had just ended...or it was not for *that* type of storage space. There seemed to be a variety of reasons the special rate wasn't available. Dad overpaid and he paid ontime for almost 3 years. I know this because payment was linked to one of his credit cards with auto-pay. While in the nursing home across the street Dad got a letter from PS asking him to immediately check his belongings....because there had been a flood in some basement units....and the letter contained a reminder that they "were not responsible for any damage." After not replying to the first letter (he was sick) there was a second urgent letter asking him to verify his belongings were OK. Fortunately, upon my checking, his belongings were not damaged, but it certainly calls into question the claim of the "Climate Controlled" facility. When my father passed and the credit card was cancelled (at this point the family didn't know that PS was on auto-pay to this credit card)...within 6 days this business sent a nasty letter threatening to sell the family belongings unless the bill was paid immediately! Just what the grieving widow needs to worry about, right? A phone call to ask what was going on might have been a nice gesture. Instead they sent the kind of letter many other businesses send to a poor customer that is 90 days late, not to a good customer that was 6 days late (with a good excuse!). This was the first time payment was late in years! After notifying PS Corporate that my father had passed, the estate continued to pay the rent for six more months. When the family eventually went to clean out the locker, months later..we inquired about a smaller unit and again asked about the $1/month special, (once again not available) and the local employees ask/demanded to see my father's driver's license....after a long and unsuccessful conversation...PS ended up locking our family out of the (rent paid) storage locker and calling the police to get us to leave while the PS legal team reviewed my fathers will for several days! (a big inconvenience for our family since several relatives were available for only a short amount of time to help with storage locker cleanout) PS was told months earlier that my father had passed and had been accepting money from the estate!! It took an unwanted police discussion and a phone call from the family attorney to restore our access. No doubt the belongings would have appeared on "storage wars" if we did not have an attorney! We are now storing our family belongs at an independent storage company in Downers Grove. Better service at less than half the cost of Public Storage. Recommend that you also find another location to store your belongings! read more

Reserved a unit online then when I showed up they rented out my unit to a walk-in already. They tried doing a BAIT and SWITCH for more money with a different unit and I refused. What is the point of reserving online if your going to BAIT and SWITCH your customers. I don't enjoy writing negative reviews. But this experience was negative. read more

I had a very positive experience working with David, the property manager. He walked me through the rental process and options. David has a very positive attitude and was able to point out the advantages of the various units for rent. I would recommend rental from this public storage facility. I have not had much experience renting storage units but the facility is very clean and I in fact saw David later on the same day I rented the unit and he was cleaning the facility. I asked him a question and he was very helpful and friendly. read more

Honestly I kept my stuff there so long because i didn't feel like moving it home. When i first moved my stuff into PS they had their $1 for the first month's rent special going, unfortunately there are a lot of things not disclosed in that ad so it winds up being almost the full months rent anyway. I had a first floor unit, by design, so i paid extra right out of the gate, also your fees will go up every year without question. Also although it is climate controlled they almost never have all of the A/C units on, i've walked past them many times. The parking lot needs a lot of work and is at such a steep angle that when you park by the office you need to set your parking brake, and when you are in the storage area your belongings will roll away if they are on a cart, so come with extra hands. Speaking of the carts depending on who is working in the office they are either smart and leave the carts in the storage area for customer use or leave them in the office and make you walk all the way around the building to sign them out(not cool). THe office closes at 5pm nightly but the units are open until 9 (how?) and they lock the carts up in the office at 5 so don't plan on moving anything heavy after work. THe property itself needs a TON of work. THe bathrooms are dirty as hell, but that could be because of the creepy woman who lives in them that the property owner is A-Okay with, also the women's bathroom has been locked for MONTHS because they lost the key. CALL A LOCK SMITH!!!! My unit hasn't had a light lit over it for years. When the guy is in the office working he NEVER answers the phone unless you call through the corporate line so don't expect help, the girl who works there is cool though. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM PUBLIC STORAGE! We began a lease with them in February 2015. We chose them because we had to move in with family and needed to store all of our own stuff for an extended period. They had the best prices on the largest storage space. But here we are 6 months later and they raised our rental rate $30 a month. We can not afford that, or to rent a truck to move to another storage facility. I explained this to their customer service representative ( which took an interminable amount of menu navigation to reach) and she told me that the prices were non negotiable. Apparently their lease term ends one month after the first month you pay and the "terms may be amended by the lessors discretion" They don't care at all about retaining their customers business. And this particular facility is crappy. The door stops on all the doors are broken off. I was told "people usually just use whatever to prop it open" so I asked why they didn't just fix them and the clerk "didn't know." There is a huge crack on the loading area causing you to have to get a running start to launch your dolly up over it to get into the place. This is if there is ever anyone in the office to obtain a dolly from. The gate code keypads are poorly placed causing you to have to exit your vehicle to access them. Not only on the way in....but exiting too. There is no sensor to allow you to exit as you drive up. You have to enter your code again to exit. The bathrooms are also Disgusting and filthy. And as far as climate control goes, I don't think proper climate control makes you sweat when you enter your unit. I was dripping just going through a few boxed the last time I was there. They also don't disclose administrative fees-$22, insurance- starting at $11, and you have to buy one of Their locks-$9 at move in. I will never rent from them again, and you should never start! read more
