I no longer have a need to store things, but when I did store things here it was a good, clean convenient spot. The managers were always pleasant and helpful and would work with you if you needed something. I stored things there for almost two years and would look to store there again if I needed it. I have used storage in several places and this has been one of the best, but like all other storage places, when your "year" is up, prices ALWAYS increase which makes storage a "trap situation" that is tough to get out of. My increase went up almost 20% and that made me decide to consolidate and get rid of storage all together. A couple dollar increase is ok but when you are paying $15 plus more a year, it adds up quick. I suspect that is a corporate directive anyway. The only other issue was not having access to moving carts after hours. I always had to get there before they closed to make sure I could use them. The managers were always nice enough to let you use them even after they closed and would just ask that you would lock them up. But if you needed carts after hours, you're SOL. I would recommend this place (but only recommend you use storage for the short term -- if you can help it.). read more

First time renting a storage unit. Most affordable that I could find around. Place is clean and they have dollies to use which made everything a lot easier. i have been a customer of this storage place since 2007. At the beginning the rate for a 5 x 5 was around $50/m. They then began to raise the cost gradually and steadily. Now the rate has jumped to $80 and I continue to receive a "cost adjustment" of $5 to $10 every 4 months or so. It's an older facility without modern A/C control. I am ready to move my stuff out to a newer public storage nearby. My advice - don't be fooled with their seemingly cheaper move-in special deal. Once you become a customer, they will punish your loyalty and keep you a captive victim of frequent cost increase. Their business model only encourages short-term customer. If you decide to use the storage space for more than 6 months, I suggest you either negotiate a really low move-in deal and put up with the later added fee, or consider somewhere else. read more

Beware of this place and Public Storage in general. They constantly raise the price on you, this time our rental went from $141 to $192 with a 30 day notice. Called them and they sent me to District manager (Dave) who didn't budge. Called the corporate office and get the same answer, "this is month-month rental and we reserve the right to raise with a 30-day notice." He actually said "this is how we do business." Also, we had a break in. The manager didn't bother to let us know for weeks. The property manager wouldn't even call the police. When we asked, they said it's not their problem. The general manager never returned the calls. The police officer that came said they had several break-ins. RUN, RUN FAST, RUN HARD. read more

Understaffed and costly. Ive been over to this location twice in two months to pay my bill becuse its close to where I work. The first time was In October, I went over there and the office was actually closed at lunchtime (about 12:40) making it impossible to pay my bill. The second time was yesterday. The office was actually open this time , but since there was only one person at the desk, I had to wait 15 minutes behind some new customers before she could process my 2-minute payment transaction. When I did finally have her attention, I had to spell my first and last name FOUR TIMES before she could find my name in the system. So much for English as a first language. In the three years I've been a customer, the rate has been raised once a year, so now I pay just under $200.00 for a 10X10. Also, they tell you to use a disc lock on your space for a reason: theyre harder to break. My space was broken into in May of 2014, and they blamed the padlock I used. So much for "twice a day every day " safety checks. If that was actually happening, the theives who broke in wouldve been caught red-handed. More staff wouldve helped actually provide these safety measures. Go elsewhere with better service and security. read more

I had a very positive experience with this Public Storage facility. The location is managed by a very friendly family who are all eager and willing to help and answer any questions. The location itself is very centrally located right off the 55 but very close to both the 405 and the 5. I never had any problems moving in or out, or with facility security. I had heard stories about individual locations jacking up monthly rates soon after the promotional periods end, but I stored my things here for almost 14 months and only experienced one reasonable rent increase. It was also very easy to move out and there were no hidden/extra fees, unlike with some other facilities that I've read about. read more

One word: VONTRELL!!! Great, great Customer Service. Top Notch... This past weekend I moved in to a Storage Unit at the 17792 Cowan Public Storage location and I had the pleasure of being helped by Vontrell there at the facility. Moving really sucks, as does loading and unloading moving trucks/storage units, but Vontrell really helped make the process simple, easy, and enjoyable even. As a part of Vontrell's excellent service, Vontrell was able to have me checked in to my unit in what felt like only 2-3 minutes (maybe it was closer to 5 total, but still, it was fast/efficient); he clearly walked me through all of the pertinent details of the paperwork and in my unit, but then the best part was that half way through my move in to my unit, Vontrell even stopped by again to make sure everything was going ok and to see if I needed any extra help. While I can't speak to an experience with anyone else at this facility, what i can speak to is that if you have the chance to work with Vontrell at this Public Storage location, I can assure you he will take good care of you and it will be a pleasant experience. I would highly recommend working with him to anyone getting into a storage unit at this facility. Lastly, the facility as a whole was very clean, felt very safe to me, and I am happy with my decision to rent a storage unit from this location. I hope this helps!! -Chris read more

Terrible place. Never rent from here!!!!!!!!! I would give them 0 stars if i could. Good location and rate was good. However after looking at unit and we got back to office masuma literally asked me to purchase everything in office. Started out like do you need tape? I said no thank you. Then she asked if i needed boxes i said no thank you. She kept insisting that i buy something. She kept on and on. Went through like 10 item. Ridiculous. After i refused to purchase any boxes,tape etc her attitude was rude! I kinda shook it off. Maybe public storage pressures their employees to up sale. I dunno. So even after this i referred a friend to rent at this place. He signed up online to get the "$1 move in special" which is not $1. My $107 per month unit cost about $60 to move in. So when my friend got to office and i walked into door masuma looked at me with a rude face and said who are you? Nicely i replied i have a unit here and im helping my friend move. She lost it. Then she refused to give my friend the move in special saying that she couldnt do it because she said that if he gets the special that i was going to move my stuff into his storage. Absolutely not true. I have my own storage unit and moving into my friends storage is completely outta the question. My friend asked to speak with manager. When we finally spoke with manager he refused to give the discount and became angry. My buddy and him exchanged angry words and i walked away but i could hear the manager calling my friend a piece of sh@! I cannot believe these people. The worst customer service, terrible treatment of customers and extremely rude! DO NOT RENT HERE! Public Storage Corporate will be hearing from me read more

This place is a joke. Much like the last comment, they raise prices at zero notice constantly. Also require insurance no matter what, yet they are no where to be found should you need assistance. Staff is of no help and super annoying. Eventually they refer you to District Manager Dave Latimore (714) 338-1262 x 3152, who not only never answers, but never returns calls. Just recently rented an unit there and the unit was broken into within three weeks of us moving in. We lost everything in the unit (sadly, these are things with sentimental values). Our lock was left untouched because the thief had figured out a way to cut the rod that holds the gate/door close. This is something most renters do not notice. Even with a heavy duty lock, the doors are really easy to break into at this place. read more

I had a storage unit here for about 2 years. During that time Sadik and Masuma helped me with move-in and answered all my questions along the way. I recently vacated due to moving to a bigger place and no longer needing the storage. Upon move out, there was a billing issue that was completely my fault for not paying attention. I brought this up to Sadik and Masuma, and even though they had every right to tell me to go pound sand, they went out of their way to resolve the issue. And in these years, I have interacted in person or by phone with the managers - Sadiq and Masuma - maybe about 10 times. My experience with the managers and the storage couldn't be better. The service is courteous, professional, helpful and complete. No bad surprises ever in any matter (which I like). I got my latest rental yesterday and it reminded me how effortless the process is. I've rented 3 units in the last 10 years from this location and it's always been an excellent experience. The managers, Sadik and Masuma, always go out of their way to help you out. The monthly storage rent is one of the lowest in the area, but they typically increase it around 8% every 9-12 months. Also, they charge $9/mo for insurance, but legally they can't make you take it even though it's presented as if it's mandatory and the law. I recently moved out, but if I need another one in the future I'll definitely rent from PS on Cowan. read more

Terrible experience! Today I went to put some things into my small storage unit which was located inside the main building only to find that ALL OF MY COLLECTIBLES WERE STOLEN!!! I checked everything on and around the unit and saw no signs of forced entry which has led me to a few suspicions as to who is actually responsible for this of whom I will not mention at this time until this is sorted out. All of my Disney collectibles that were inside were gone while everything else was still intact! I waited for the owner to arrive and once he did I explained the situation and he did not show one ounce of any indication that he actually cared about the incident and even sighted that this was the second break in he had ever heard of occurring here! I asked about security cameras and he said there are none and simply referred me to the insurance service provided by Public Storage. I am still in tears and frustrated even as I type this as I had many memories attached to those items and these heartless b******* had the gall to do this! I've since cancelled my agreement and have moved my remaining things while yes I know they are just items but it's the principal and the grief the thief or thieves have caused! Anyone who has their stuff their currently I highly advise you upgrade your security measures or move your stuff to a safer place because this experience has left me with an extremely bad taste in my mouth! read more

I rented a space at this facility and after my first payment was late I was locked out without access to my unit. I wasnt able to come up with the rent at the time and said if I could have access to my storage I had people interested in buying a few of my things then I could pay current. They allowed me a one time enter that night only but I had no way to remove the items and the purchasers werent available until the next day. The manager even had the nerve to ask Me if I would write a good review for her online at that time like who asks customers to please write a good review for them? Well here is your review. You were very rude to Me you constantly hounded my phone the moment I became past due on my first months rent and locked me out of the facility. I had everything I own in that storage including many personal family photo and personal documents. Right after that I had to go out of town on a family emergency which I was taking care of my very ill father so needless to say I was very occupied. Last night I checked my voicemail they left me a message that my unit was up for auction today so i called them as soon as they opened. They never sent me any email stating that my unit was in jeopardy of being sold and they demanded payment in full by 11:00am or it was going to be sold. Well it was sold and I only owed 500.00 which iI explained I could have paid by this Friday. I now have nothing but my suitcase of clothes. Public Storage Inc has no concern over the customers who may be in a bad way while renting a space from them. It is sad that they treat people this way. If they had atleast sent Me an email stating that my unit was in jeopardy of being sold or mentioned it in a prior voice mail I could have made arrangements to save it. They left me no chance with such short notice but they have no problem hounding a customer to pay when past due. Sure I was past due but they were aware of my situation and showed no regard or made any attempt to make arrangements for a partial payment. I only had my storage unit for 3 months. For the past due 500.00 Public Storage Inc had no problem selling my lifes belongings in a heartbeat. I have had storage units with smaller storage companies they have always understood and did what they could to help a person out in times of need. I suggest never renting from Public Storage Inc. They have lost my business forever and I will never have a nice thing to sat about this company. read more
