I trusted Public Storage with everything I owned. On January 13, 2026, their contractors destroyed my unit with construction dust--AFTER the on-site manager warned them to stop. They ignored her and continued working. My electronics, furniture, clothing, and sentimental items (including a television from my late father) were ruined. What Public Storage did: Denied my initial claim Reopened a liability claim Ignored my calls and emails for months Let the SAME contractors return and shut down the facility to protect units--admission they knew how to prevent this Forced me to sue them What it cost me: $1,294 - Storage rent for a unit I couldn't use $161 - Court filing fees Almost everything I owned--thrown away My late father's television--destroyed I filed a lawsuit: Case #261200####69, Harris County Justice Court, Texas. Gaping hole in the chain link fence at the rear of the facility large enough for people to crawl through. 2. NO lighting at night at any of the public or indoor storage areas. The light fixtures are there but why are the lights not on? None of them seem to be activated by motion. 3. Mentally/emotionally challenged man wanders around the entrance to the facility and sits or lays himself on the property of Storage Sense, right in front of the office. The manager doesn't seem to care. 4. The security gates are repeatedly left open during the day and are not closed. So basically anyone can drive through the facility. I told the manager about this and she said she was unaware of these security issues. 5. Management seems completely oblivious and/or doesn't care about any of these safety and liability issues.
