When my contractor moved all my stuff from my home into storage, they were quick to respond in a caring and compassionate way. They stayed with me through the process to move the two units under my name since the project was running past budgeted time. They helped me get things setup with the PS App on my phone, and my billing setup with autopay. I even received a courtesy call on the first of the month as a reminder the first month. I'm so blessed to know there are still customer service reps out there who are genuinely concerned about providing world-class service and support. My unit is on the second floor, and there's NEVER any carts!! I'm a single mother of 3 and a full time student from 7pm-11pm with a full time job Our house caught on fire and we were forced to move. I had NO help! So me being 130 lbs and trying to move couches and 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds 3 desks, washer and dryer.... I'm NOT happy!!! I'm calling tomorrow for some sort of compensation, This whole situation has been absolutely insane!! If they can't accommodate me, I will NEVER use their services again. read more

I rented a large indoor space and the first thing we noticed was the lack of carts. When I questioned the manager I was told they had all been stolen and they would not replace them, and they were not required to supply carts. I've never had an indoor storage space that would not provide ANY carts. I explained they could ask for drivers licenses or a deposit, and her reply was, nope not gonna do it! Lazy office management! The parking lot was usually filthy! I've seen dirty diapers, household and beauty items, various fluids, motor parts, etc all around the lot in and around the doorway area...again lazy management! The final complaint, we believe people are either living in or staying in the building all night. We were there several times around closing, there were no cars around, and we could hear voices in the building. Upon discussing this with other tenants they told us there had been a lot of unit break-ins at night. I reported that we had heard voices late at night to management, and was told "we can't do anything unless you report it while it's happening" excuse me, you go home at 5 or 6, there's no one on site. Customer service was beyond terrible. I don't event know where to begin. spoke to over 6 people trying to rent a storage unit. was made to drive to different locations and no one was available. Prices online were not honored. Prices given on the phone by management were also not honored. Overcharged and now they are attempting to claim I didn't pay almost $250 for a 10x15 unit. Ridiculous frustrating and extremely unprofessional. If you can go to U-Haul. I've been dealing with them for years NEVER EVER EVER HAD THIS KIND OF TREATMENT. Had U-Haul had the size I needed I would've gone with them even though public storage is right across the street from my house. save yourself the headache find somewhere else to store your items. read more

Beware rate increases that provide ~30 days notice. I just received 30% rate hike notice and was told my account is not eligible for any discount consideration ('system generated') even though online rates are showing as 50% cheaper than my new rate. Received 5 months of 'online rate' before 30% hike. Move in process was good and facility seems fine but not a very good user experience regarding giant rate change and 'sorry nothing we can do' attitude. read more

Found mold all over my furniture (see photos) after less than 5 months of storage at this facility (May-Sept 2019). The building's temperature seemed consistently around 80°F the times I visited, but ventilation/air flow is, apparently, horrible. You can feel the humidity when you walk into the first floor. I just assumed it must be at a non-mold growing level because the facility was, after all, "climate controlled." (Naive!) The staff in the front office were very apologetic, but said that Public Storage would not pay for movers to move my belongings--not even to a different floor in the same facility! (Wow.) They sent a report up the chain and I also emailed the property manager + Public Storage corporate. Three weeks later, I still haven't heard a thing. I have since paid $500 (again) for movers to move everything to a totally different facility. (The PS staff claim the second floor isn't as humid, but I'm not taking any chances.) I hate writing reviews like this, but honestly feel obligated. I would hate for someone else to have the same experience. read more

I rented this 5x5 unit at $28 a month, and they randomly (with 30 days notice) increased the rate to $47. Almost a $20 increase within 6 months of starting the rental. Every time I go there aren't carts anywhere to be found so getting items to the overpriced unit feels impossible. As soon I I decide what to do with the stuff, I'm out...assuming I can find a freaking cart to get it to the elevator and into my car. read more

"Management" here is trash. You have a hard time getting anyone in the office. No one is ever inside. I went on two separate occasions and both times I went back twice in one day. Every time the "return time" would be different. Like if they go back just to change the time, and leave the office again. I went in today and had an altercation with the girl who claimed to be a manager. I went in for my reservation. The girl immediately had an attitude when I arrived. No greeting, no nothing. She mentioned I was supposed to be in at 9:30AM. Office hours are 9:30-5 on Sunday's? Why would it matter. If I can't make it, you're still open the remainder of the day. We continued to literally argue that she wasn't going to help me bc I didn't have my id - which I understand. But that she wasn't going to rent to me bc I was being rude. I told her to rent to my husband w his ID and she refused that too. She said I'm supposed to be there 30 mins before close. Mind you, it was 4:28 when I checked the time while I was in the lobby. Girl could not remain professional or calm since the very beginning. Yes I was annoyed I had lost my wallet. Being that the one time I finally get into the site after so many attempts, I didn't have my ID. At one point I tried apologizing for acting rude - I know how to apologize when I'm wrong.. but she continued yelling and cursing and gave me the finger as I walked out, calling me a fucking bitch etc. She also said she was "raising my rates" and proceeded to cancel my reservation to try and do just that. Terrible customer service. We had an appointment for a new storage unit at 12:00. Waited for more than thirty minutes just to begin the process. The associate who set up our account was quite rude. Really bad experience. My advice to other renters is don't bother with an appointment and just show up; clearly everybody else does. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE TALKING TO NICOLE - NICOLE REFUSED TO ANSWER MY QUESTION. EXTREMELY CONTROLLING PERSON. I called 832-460-1217 with ONE question, and Nicole answered. ?Are all the units climate controlled? (bc is says climate controlled on the website) Nicole answered No. So I asked her about the only unit listed, the 6x10 if it was climate controlled. Nicole said she could help me with that, ... here we go.... but then proceed to ask me 20 questions. Nicole REFUSED to tell me if this unit was climate controlled. Nicole INSISTED to relay unwanted and unsolicited information about the unit sizes and what they can accomodate. I asked her several times if this unit was climate controlled. I told Nicole I was not interested in any other information. Nicole continued to talk about the unit then waste more of time telling me why she wanted to tell me all of extraneous information for which I had no need. This girl Nicole is very CONTROLLING, NOT customer service oriented. This type of work is NOT for her. She has offended me and wasted my valuable time. I declined to give her my telephone number (part of her 20 questions) and had to hang up on her non-stop talking. YET, this Nicole called me back from caller ID THREE times. Just moved into two units yesterday and was very pleased with everything except the lighting on the 3rd floor unit that I rented. It's extremely dark inside the space itself and therefore nearly impossible to see without switching on your cell phone flash light or bringing in a battery powered lantern. Of all the storage units that I've rented over the years the lighting in this one is the worst! When I brought it to the attention of Bebe, the manager, she informed me that low lighting in the units tends to discourage "squatters" who attempt to use the units as living quarters and for that reason dim lighting was designed to discourage that behavior. In my opinion, that's an unacceptable excuse and certainly is not a defensible reason for having wholly inadequate (it's unsafe) interior illumination of the space we are renting!! The simple solution is to do what other first class storage companies do which is to have the electric switch for each unit turn on when the door opens and have it shut off when the door comes down again upon leaving. read more

As another user posted, we found mold in our unit along with several other people on our floor (2nd, which is supposedly less humid than the 1st). They claim that the A/C went out for about a week. Luckily, we didn't have much in our unit at the time and were about to move out, but the guy in the unit next to us lost thousands of dollars in ruined belongings. My sister also lost most of her belongings in a storage unit on the same floor due to mold. It seems this happens frequently at this location. Also, the insurance they provide only covers $250 of mold damage, even if the mold growth is their fault for not keeping the building properly climate controlled. The worst part was that we would have had no idea about this if we hadn't been at the unit that day. We heard from others that they had brought this to the management's attention earlier in the week and they were not planning to notify other tenants because "it wasn't corporate protocol." I feel sorry for everyone that wasn't planning to check their units for several more months because I can't imagine how bad the mold damage will be after several more months of growth. read more
