I looked up on my iPhone closest location to me and was listed as 5854 San Felipe and I proceeded there. Once I got there, there was no Penske Truck Rental so I called the Hempstead location!!! The person on the phone told me that she was a manager and that there is no Penske Truck Rental on San Felipe, and that it is not hear problem if I cannot read a map (I attached map from iPhone to this post). I asked the person for their name and they hung up the phone promptly. There might be a million other ways to handle an issue like this such as map is wrong, we closed the location etc. But telling me I cannot read map is just crazy! Needless to say, I will never rent from Penske, and judging by these reviews, you are asking for headache if you do!

They had lost some bolts to cover to AC unit on top. I was told they would call me as to when to return as they have to order the bolts. Two days later no call. So I called. There reply was...."The truck was ready yesterday." So when where you going to let me know? No apology only for me to come on down and pick up truck. It's now ready! Two months later. Another maint in truck. Bring it in ASAP it needs to be repaired. Maint is overdue. So Get a call 2 days later it's ready to pick up. I replied that I will pick up on Tuesday. Monday will not work for me. Tuesday at 1:30 pm. I called just to make sure truck is ready. They reply yes. We have it ready. I arrive. They lost the key. After 20 min. They tell me it will be an hour wait as they have to pick up a spare from another location. Of course no apology. I ask for a loaner to get back to work while they look for the key or have an hour of loss wages. They said no. Do t have anything available. I ask if they can drop off the truck at my business since they lost key. Again. No they don't do that. I'm basically stuck here for an two hour while they sit back down like business as usual service dept Where the heck is there customer service or apology? I guess as long as they are at work. They don't care that your out 2 hours of wages from my job All I ask is show your customers some kind of apology for it being at fault. Uber me to work. I can try again tomorrow After an hour & 20 min the gentleman at front desk had an apology and offered a bottle water He also said the Key is probably on its way back from other location. The whole process was super easy with Jay, and he is the best salesman. He was not pushy and answered all my questions thoroughly. The…read moreday before (Wednesday), I get a message left in the early afternoon that they had no trucks on the lot, and I needed to call their 800 number to find a location that actually had a truck for me to rent. Due to work, I didn't get that message until the early evening. I called the 800 number right away, and the not-very-helpful clerk told me that I would have to speak to the inventory manager, who would contact me by 10 am the following day--yes, the day I was supposed to be moving and out the door at 8 am, I was going to have to wait around to find out if they even had a truck I could rent. Oh, and she asked me how far I would be willing to drive to pick it up? 10 miles? 25 miles? 50 miles? 100 miles? This was for a move of approximately four miles. In short, a reservation with these people is worth absolutely nothing. They will disregard it at their convenience. I would suggest you look somewhere else, anywhere else, if you need a rental.
