I wrote a review 3 months ago on Google about the situation here in regard to their atrocious security (second floor door was taped open and still is because the elevator is broken) as well as their elevator being out for months. I'll paste it down below. Now it is April 2026 and the situation is the same. Absolutely unbelievable. They called and asked me to take the review down in return for like a month free and I said no. Then they gave me like 20 bucks off a month for 3 months. Price went back up after not accepting the bribe and I just came back here and it is still broken. So much documentation about consistently questionable business practices just from reviews on here and Google. There's got to be a way to get the better business bureau or city council to address this. Every single person I've run into here for like a year has all the same complaints. Looking forward to the immediate phone call on Monday morning (just like last time) now that the precious reviews and ratings are being affected. Some sort of cease and desist order or refusing me service would be my guess on how it is handled instead of just fixing the elevator. Use all those algorithm-induced price hike's cash from the last couple years, plenty of cash in that banana stand. Here is my Google review from December 2025: This place is an absolute racket. Elevator has been broken for 4-5 months. Manager was nice and reduced my rent for like a month when I called but I'm paying for 100% of what was advertised and the owner is a slum lord. Elevator doesn't work so they tape the locked emergency stair door open for 2nd floor access. So that makes it unsecured storage with no elevator and they doubled my rent within a year - and tried to raise it again recently. Website says "lock in price" and when I called they literally said there is no such thing as "lock in" price and it all just goes through an algorithm. They send me a "how was your visit" email every time I go and I tell them all this and ask for a call or email and they've never responded. They also literally closed the front office and it is just an electronic kiosk that just makes a video call to a call center. So they are just printing money with barely any labor now and still can't fix the stupid elevator. Capitalism at its finest. Buy up all the storage companies in town then just absolutely crap on all their customers. If I get a "sorry you had a negative experience. Tell us how we can make your experience better" automated message to this, that'll wrap up this whole experience with a nice bow. read more

HORRIBLE - Avoid this location like the Plague We have had an indoor storage unit here for about 15 months. Not only have they raised the rent from $56 to $91 a month in that short period of time (advertised now for $34!) - these units are NOT SECURE, and they do not do any of the vital maintenance needed to keep it that way. It's cold and not heated either, when it should be climate controlled. We have encountered (clearly) suspicious people entering the supposedly locked and attended property, and going into the supposedly locked & key coded building that our unit was in. Others have had their units broken into because of this! For the last 6 months, the sole elevator has been Out of Service, meaning that we have had to not only hand carry heavy items up and down the stairs - but the door to the stairs is always open, since it is the only access to the second floor. No key pad, nothing. Just a perpetually unlocked door. Trying to contact Public Storage about these issues has been a joke too. Their chat on their website conveniently encounters a problem every time I try to use it, and when trying to call - the agents just "take note" of the problems. We are moving out because of this, and it has taken us triple the time that it should because of the chronically broken elevator, and it's a back breaking job to carry a 5' x 10' unit worth of stuff down the stairs at our age. Several others having to haul awkward heavy boxes that we have passed in the stairwell have expressed the same frustration with this place. EXTORTIONARY RENT INCREASE. This place was a hassle at first, getting several people authorized for the gate code, finding an "approved" combination lock etc., but after that things were OK. I *thought*. This was intended for long-term storage of nostalgic belongings when we downsized our elderly mother, but after less than 3 months, I got a notice raising our rate by OVER 36%!!!! No explanation, no apology. When I called to ask why (hoping it was a mistake), the couldn't-care-less guy who answered the phone, "It's a month-to-month rental, so they can raise it whenever they want. Wasn't my decision." Sure, I knew it was month-to-month, and expected occasional price increases -- but 36%?!? Feels like extortion now that we have slowly filled it up over the last 3 months. Was hired to remove an out of state clients unit contents. Had my client add me to their system to gain access. Drove out 2 separate occasions after needing to be added to the account. Second time I went out, they denied me again and said only the main account holder can remove temporary locks. Terrible service. Charging my client daily, yet won't allow the unit to be cleaned out by a 3rd party. I just left the Public Storage on 99 near 230th and the move-out process was absolutely painless. During the last phone call, the first time I'd talked to anyone local from the company in several years, I was pressured to leave a review because it would "really help them". Well... let's see if that's the case. I signed up in 2018 for a 5x5 unit primarily because it was cheap and near my house. The building is constructed of wood, cold in the winter, a bit musty, and vaguely creepy. Suspicious looking characters lurk about at times, the elevator (more about this later) sounds like it's on its last legs, and occasionally the carts go missing and nobody knows where they are. But my primary complaint about this company is the misleading pricing. I was signed up for $47/mo, which bumped up within a few months to $57/mo. Not unexpected. But what was not expected were the further increases, to $69/mo, then to $73/mo, and finally this year $91/mo, which seems a bit steep for what amounts to a closet with a padlock on it in a ramshackle plywood building with a dodgy elevator. Which I will now address. Sometime a few months ago I got in the elevator, rode it down to the bottom floor, and... nothing. Doors did not open. I tried pressing buttons, nothing. I waited a few minutes, took some deep breaths. I pushed outward against the door, I kicked the door, and finally as I was considering calling... who? The fire department? ... I decided pushing the door to the right and to the left. Finally, it opened. I jumped out of the elevator, glad to be free again, put the cart away, went home, and called the company. I left a voicemail at the local office, or what I think was the local office, and never got a call back. I was concerned someone else might get stuck in there. Finally I called the national number, talked to someone there, but I have no idea whether that ever filtered back down. As of my move-out date in June, the inspection posted in the elevator is expired. Has anyone looked at it since I got stuck in it? No idea. I do know I'll never get stuck in it again. There are other storage units in the area for considerably less than $91/mo, which I would urge you to consider the actual cost of your unit if you are going to keep stuff in it for several years like I did. read more

My unit was recently broken into for the second time. Interestingly, no other units besides mine seem to have been broken into, and interestingly I just happened to have stored some boxes in the unit - empty boxes of high-priced electronics. No one else was around at the time I stored them, so my guess is that someone who works here saw security footage of me storing those boxes and thought they could score some high-value goods. Add to that the fact that they constantly raise the rent of current customers well above what they charge new customers, and I have to recommend that you look elsewhere, as I am now doing. read more

PUBLIC STORAGE STOLE MONEY FROM ME!!! I've been renting from Public Storage for over ten years. I moved out of my space because they raised my rent to $632. I told the guy at the location I was moving out. He asked if I took my lock, I said yes and he said, "I will take care of that and get you all moved out and you'll get an email". Never received an email, I logged into my account and he never moved me out. So I did the moved out myself online. It would not let me select my original move out date, had to do that day's date (the 2nd) Then I get a full automatic charge for the month. Call to see why, guy tells me we don't pro rate, I said if I'm paying for it then I want to use the unit until the end of the month. Said, I needed to talk to the location manager, (I've dealt with that manager before and she never answers or returns calls) then the guy mumbled something and hung up on me. Yeah, I'm not happy. Jen has been super helpful. I've been working with this location for a few years now and they have always been professional and super helpful even when I had to make changes to the parking space I was renting. Whenever it becomes difficult to get a hold of someone the staff there always finds a way to make it easier to communicate on my end rather that brush me off as another customer. I'll be returning every time I have a need to rent a parking stall or storage space because of that. read more

Apparently the access system that all public storage facilities use has no back up meaning that if there's ever a power failure or a glitch or a bad update or anything that might possibly make the system crash you won't be able to access your belongings for 24 to 48 hours they will refund your money but that doesn't quite make up for the fact that you have no access to anything that you own that you decided to store with them. I would recommend looking for another brand of self storage because they were all have the same exact issue and they don't seem to plan to rectify it read more

I moved out of two units here due to a rat infestation in two diiferent buildings and asked for a rent refund due to the condition but my request was ignored and fell on deaf ears. It was a painless process to reserve the storage space and rent. Henry was quick to show me different options of outdoor vs. indoor and got me the most optimal amount of space within my budget. I've used public storages from time to time, in between a move and this location isn't sketchy like others. It's on Hwy 99 which scared me at first but once I've gone in and inspected the place it wasn't bad. read more

Rented a unit 4 months ago on 50% off promotion. There was nothing in the fine print that indicated it was a limited time promotion. I was very clear in asking the person whether this was a promotional limited time rate. He assured me that it was not, and that occasionally there are increases but typically not until the yearly anniversary of the unit rental. I just got a notice that my rent was going up $20/mo. This is a $240 per year rent increase after just 4 months. I read the fine print in the contract and it does say that they can raise the rent anytime they want. So I think what happens is that they get you in with the low rate and then proceed to raise the rent. This is truly a scam to get you in the door with a price they know they will be raising in the near future. I plan on filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

Downgraded to 2 from 4 after a year of service due to: 1) Rent for unit bot bumped up significantly after 3 months. 2) Was offered a special during move in ($1 for first month) but the billing was screwed up. I brought the issue up to April, was promised a return call but never received a call nor resolution. ----- Babes was very friendly and helpful when we were looking and exploring our options. We walked in and was promptly shown one of the units to give us ideas what we need. The facility seems clean and there were lots of people moving in/out on the day we showed up. If I could give this facility zero stars I would. We got a locker last year and haven't had a problem. Someone recently broke into our locker and stole a lot of our stuff. Public storage has been not helpful what so ever. The insurance we were paying for didn't cover anything we had stolen due to the fact we didn't take pictures of everything in our locker. The facility said they would look at the cameras but they have not done that. They also stated we could possibly get a prorated refund back from our locker which they just denied us. Don't waste your money or time. This place is disgraceful and does not have good costumer service at all. If I could give this location a zero, I would!!! April was very nice in the beginning. At the end of August, we were ready to move our stuff to our new home. Unfortunately the elevator was broken. I left several messages for a return phone call. She finally answered the phone and told me there was nothing they could do and gave me the district managers name and number. He too was nice with the first conversation. He promised to keep me updated on the elevator being fixed. Since I couldn't get a return phone call, I called Corporate and they were of no help at all. They said they would wave September rent but if the elevator is still not fixed by October, we would have to pay. We had very heavy belongs corporate said that was our issue because we did have access to our stuff and could "easily" use the stairs. On another note, April not once has returned my phones calls the entire time we had our storage units other than to get us to sign on for the rent of the storage units. Over all, I think the customer service was horrible and will NEVER use them again if I need extra storage. read more

See update at the foot of this review explaining a change from one-star to two-stars: I strongly caution anybody considering using this company, at this location or anywhere else. The on-site facility managers (at least at this location) are pleasant enough, but they do not give accurate information about the financial end of things and/or are not themselves supplied with up-to-date information, so that you may easily end up with substantial unanticipated expenses, and good luck trying to get anybody at their billing or collections offices to handle the situation. Last November, I took over a unit from a family member who had allowed it it to become seriously delinquent. I was told how much was owing on it, and assured that if it was cleaned out by the end of the month, there would be no further charges on it. In fact, I was told that if it was cleaned out by the 6th of the following month, all that would be owed was a proration on December's rent. I paid the balance and cleaned it out by the end of the month (the 29th, actually). I went in to the office to let the on-site manager know it was now vacant and unlocked. I asked him if there was anything that needed to be signed to confirm that, and he assured me, not once but three times, that everything was complete. Not being confident in that, I also emailed the contact email address from the company's website, again confirming that I had vacated as of the end of November. In early December, I received a bill for December rent. I called the local office and left a detailed message confirming I had vacated at the end of November. I assumed that perhaps the December billing had gone out before the November 29th vacancy had been recorded, though, and didn't hear anything back, nor did I receive any follow-up billing, so I assumed it had been taken care of. Then in January, I received a call from a collection agency, saying the December bill had been assigned to collections. From there, it has been an ongoing hassle. The first live person I was able to reach said I had been charged because of a "slow" vacating. But she couldn't explain how vacating completely in November could result in December charges. The next person I spoke with said that the unit was a "pay at the end of the month" unit, so the very substantial amount I had paid earlier in the month had not included the charges for November. Of course, this is directly opposite to what I was told by the on-site unit manager when I came in to pay: He assured me several times that the $800 in charges I was paying covered everything through the end of November, and that if I vacated by the end of that month, there would be no further charges. So either he lied or the collections office is lying, or one or both are incompetent, but so far I've spend almost two hours on the phone trying to get this resolved, with absolutely zero progress and a likely serious hit to my excellent credit score. If you need storage, be aware you are taking major chances with your wallet, your credit score and your schedule by doing business with Public Storage. My advice: Don't do it. UPDATE: Well, the above all happened, but in fairness, I should mention several things: Each time I left a message, a call was returned promptly - literally within the hour. Whenever I got ahold of a live person at the company about this problem, each person was pleasant, seemed to care about the problem even if they couldn't solve it, and as I learned later, did follow up with emails or calls to others in the company to document the problem. I've now spoken with the District Manager, who says the problem should be resolved within one business day, and sounds like he means it and can do it. On that, of course, time will tell. So I've upgraded my rating to 2-stars, because although this was a huge annoyance and frustrating to deal with, it may indeed have been a one-time glitch, and while navigating the resolution process was not the easiest thing and required persistence bordering on stalking, clearly there is something right at a company whose employees behave the way Kay, Phyllis, Tom and Zachary did toward an infuriated customer. read more

Ronnee was friendly and helpful. She made sure we had the right sizes, and a good locations to move things out of the family's unit into our own individual units. She helped me get set up for autopay, which is great. The location may be out of the way for my Seattle friends, but still I suggest it when friends need a space to store things (and they have taken my suggestion). I walked into a Public Storage Office about 4 blocks north of the one i am reviewing and she recommended coming to this facility. She offered to call ahead and she did (I did not get her name) I walked into the office and spoke with Rodney. And he stated I was looking for a 10X10? He was very pleasant, patient and helpful to select the proper size unit and walked to three different units to find one I was happiest with. Very professional and helpful.
