Well, I used to love this place. Until they changed the access hours to only be open 930-6 which completely restricts any available time for me to access my storage unit as I work 9-6. Perfection is the word to describe this Public Storage location when it comes to everything. I rented a storage last month and Jim and the rest of the staff, made me feel comfortable right way. They are extremely professional, approachable, very friendly and the whole area is always clean. Without notifying us at all, they added an extra security door with a 5 number passcode. So my husband and I have been waiting on hold at the storage unit for about an hour, trying to reach an actual human being to speak with in order to retrieve our luggage cases before our flight this evening. Don't expect any real person to talk to on the phone, unless you speak with 7 people who absolutely know nothing first; then we spoke with someone briefly who just put us on hold again. After another 30 minutes, this person said they don't know how to help us and to call the office, which has a cheaply printed sign on it saying "property closed" and then just relisted the number who claims they don't have the access codes. Then she gave me a different number of a random district manager who doesn't even work for this location and also doesn't have the access codes. She was actually the only person who seemed to care at all about the situation, but she was surprised the office was left unattended and found out the managers on leave so she is currently calling around trying to figure out how we can get our access code. She says she'll call me back but I don't know when. Looks like I'll be buying new suitcases tonight before my flight read more

Stay away!! It's been less than 6 months and my rent had increased over 32%. Management is awful and they refuse to help in any way. Very disappointed but hey, if they can make a few extra dollars at the customers expense... they will. Absolutely horrible experience. BUYER BEWARE! This is the 2nd time they have cut my lock off my unit claiming that it's not locked properly and for my safety they put their own lock on the unit. This is BULL SH*T! They've insisted twice that I buy their lock that they sell there, a heavy duty lock for $19.95. You can only lock these locks with a key, so I know for a fact that the key was faced outwards. I double check both times that the unit was locked. This is a SCAM to get you to buy another one of their locks...what a ripoff! read more

Needed a storage to temporarily store some junk while they work on our house. Devon was very helpful and showed me the different types of storage areas. She broke it down very clearly. The one thjng I didnt agree one was the mandatory insurance. But I guess if its law. Decided on the 5 x 10 which came out to $117/mo. Plus the $11/mo insurance. Overall experience was fast and pleasant. Great service and very clean. read more

Everything about my experience was fantastic. I had searched them first and drove to the different locations nearby and had some basic info. I was surprised to see that this one had a poor review at all- but ignore it. It was clearly an atypical experience. Tiff was the rep that helped me out and he was informative in the size of unit I would need and the first month was $1, with climate control. The other storage locations in the area may be about the same price when you split the difference, but most of them are outdoors with no climate control. He was extremely helpful from start to finish with answering all my questions and there was another rep present at the time who was also very attentive to myself and other customers coming in. I have had to return several times during the move process and the care continues to be the same from TIff and the other reps I have encountered. The security is phenomenal, the location is easy to get in and out of, the units and areas around the facility are clean and the service is above and beyond. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking and feel completely confident storing my items here. read more

My husband has been at this property for about 9 years. Before that, he was at another Costa Mesa/Newport Property. This one is MUCH better as far as customer service goes. I usually deal with Jim who is awesome. He lets me pay the bill without a problem, (The other property always made it difficult because the unit isn't in my name, not sure why anyone would turn down money though) The property is always clean and well maintained. Would certainly recommend this storage facility to anyone in the area. read more

The guys are nice yes, my rating has to do with price. I don't mind paying for storage but for a small 5 x 5 which is very near a triple digit amount. Moved into this space in July, and though was told there would be no rent increase for at least one year, five months later they raised the rent 25%. So be aware, they are liars, and be prepared to either move or be ripped off. In addition prospective tenants should know that there is a stream of homeless around, and occasionally within, the complex. This fact will not be advertised by the managers. read more

After 9pm, YOU WILL BE LOCKED IN on the property.. The properties overnight manager WILL NOT OPEN THE GATE, he will tell you to call the police and scream at you that you are going to jail if you honk your horn. There were 4 different vehicles at the gate trying to leave, we were eventually all honking our horns. I tried leaving at 9:02pm. Eventually the police came and let us out at 9:30, the officer said she is there every night to let people out, and it's crazy drama every time. The officer said they will be talking to Public Storage about this matter. The police department should not be sending officers out to waste their time on this poor business practice...... I am an organized, articulate and detail oriented person. When I rented the unit, the Public Storage employees were very informative about their disclaimers and rules of operation. I would have really hoped that they emphasized that I would be locked in after 9pm, but I feel I didn't even hear it covered (they may have said closed at 9pm, but did not tell me I would be locked on property at 9pm exactly). The over night manager is 25-35, and lives there with his girlfriend.... What a disgrace. How hard would it be to just let people out? Or the overnight manager should communicate with the Public Storage employees as to how they can improve on this obvious problem. Instead, the overnight manager would prefer to argue with people every night??? And put up with all this drama? I'm sorry, but I'm in customer service, and even if I'm off the clock, I'll still help someone if they need my help. What is this? The manager gets his rocks off by battling with people that they close at 9 every night? DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM!! I've never heard of other Storage companies operating like this. read more

Horrible place. Price hikes every few months!!!! No security cameras so when units get ripped off, and they do, Public Storage knows nothing, see nothing. The rudest counter employees ever. Enjoy NOT having a working water fountain or letting customers use the bathroom they lock and won't let you use the key. Outrageous. Last of all they rent the same unit to a new occupant while charging the leaving occupant the entire month even if they move out on the 3rd!!!!! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

Don't go there! Rude office staff won't even let you use the locked bathroom when you're paying high rent. They hiked my fees to almost double in two years. Plus they won't stop charging you after you've moved out. Plus there are shady characters wandering around panhandling and yelling after dusk. Glad to be out of there! read more

My experience was fantastic. I needed to move out my house in 2 days. It's located two minutes away from this location. I needed to find a storage unit and fast so I stopped in to see their rates. Tif at the front desk was extremely helpful from start to finish with answering all my questions. I was a bit iffy about which size unit I needed and he was happy to show me two different options of sizes of units and gave me the best alternative to get the best deal. For my first month it was only a dollar! Can't beat that. Friendly, informative, extremely helpful, and not to mention affordable! The area all around was clean, and very accessible to receive help if needed. I feel very satisfied to be storing my items here and highly recommend them. read more

After losing my job and having to move out of our apartment, I had all of belongings stored at this location. This was three years ago. The manager at that time was great! What a difference a few years make! The customer service is terrible now. If you are 10 days late on your rent, they disarm your gate code. They tell you that you are not able to have access to your unit until you confront them, telling them that it is against the law not to allow access. They then say that their policy has just changed and they allow entry during business hours. The prices for their units are higher than other public storage units and my late fee if 10 days late is $44.00. As soon as I am able to afford the movers I will change locations. CAUTION RATE INCREASES!!! Nice clean facility, don't go at night random street people sleep there. I rented on a 50% off promotion and was told rates go up but you will always remain 50% of market rate. Well after 2 rate increases I'm at 80% of market rate. I called corp, they don't do anything. So advice don't go at night and have the person you deal with write any promo in. read more
