Including yours truly (getting better about it though.) It was really easy to work with Lauren, the manager at this location. I do dislike the phone process of Central Self Storage overall. Everything is routed through a call center. You can never directly call your location to speak with on-site staff. I guess if you have a large portfolio of storage units, this economy of scale makes sense for the owner, but not the customer since the overseas call center doesn't know anything, can't make meaningful changes to your account and is only taking a message basically and you will get a "call back." That said, if it wasn't for solid operational teams at the street level like with Lauren, this chain of storage units would be in trouble. Other than that, can't complain. Everything was secure, nothing caught on fire (one storage place in the past had that problem) and I always felt like my belongings were very secure at this facility. I'm a bit fascinated with the facility's box truck which is hardly used. It's for rent, it's not included. There's a discount during your first two weeks...but U-Haul is cheaper still. That's a six figure prop basically. Odd way to spend money. How about not do crazy capex projects like that and just pass on the savings to the customers? Everyone I interacted with by phone, email, and in person was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. One of the employees even helped me move a table and heavy box that I couldn't lift myself after the movers left. I started with a 10x10 unit and moved into a smaller one a year later because they were going to charge $312/mo starting 4/30/2026 (started at $150 or $160/mo for 6 months, then rate increased to $200-something/mo). My new unit was $189/mo and I didn't have to deal with rent increases because I recently cleared out my unit after 3 months. The space is very safe and secure, requiring a code to enter and exit the gate. Also love the free coffee and tea. I'm happy to not have to pay for the unit anymore but would recommend to anyone considering storage space.
