This is a review for Public Storage Concord. We have moved a lot and often end up using a local Public Storage facility. They do differ greatly. The Concord site is ideally located , kept clean , dry and at an even temperature- now those of you you have you storage know how important that is. The staff are super efficient , polite and straight forward to deal with. Pricing is clear and transparent. Not the cheapest but I would not got for cheapest as far as storing goes. read more

We've had a single storage unit with Public Storage for over a year. They lure you in with a low rate, then hike the price by 30% once you're fully moved in. Recently, I was a few days late on a payment and was hit with a $40 late fee. I deducted that amount from my payment. Two days later, Public Storage charged my debit card without authorization to collect the fee. I've since instructed Wells Fargo to block all future charges from them. Going forward, I'll pay by check only--and I recommend others avoid using cards. I've also filed a complaint with the California Attorney General's Office. Public Storage is a publicly traded company--are they really this desperate? Between the surprise rate increases, $15/month insurance fees, and excessive $40 late charges, it's clear they're driven by greed. Avoid this company. They profit heavily while providing little in return--you do all the work. read more

Rented a unit here for a little over a year and a half. The hours are pretty terrible but the location is nice and clean. My 10x25 unit started at $187 for 6 months, then went to $257, then at the one year mark went to $332. Ended up finding a better storage area with better hours and better price. Would not recommend renting here unless it's for a short time. read more

Shady AF. I recently used their app to rent a 10 x 15. Same day I decided that size was going to be too small. The following day I told them I wanted to cancel my contract. I was told by corporate goons that no refunds are given as written in their extensive contract. I explained what happened; that I had never even moved in. With FU energy the corporate goon told me I had signed the contract and no refunds are given. The local staff that I spoke with seemed decent and communicated well. I just wanted to share how this company is fully happy to take your money even when zero service was provided. I understand I signed a contract and legally it is my fault. I generally find most people are decent and reasonable and will do 'the right thing'.... Treat others the way they would like to be treated themselves. Was charged $300 and never stored a single box. This feels like theft. Update: I received a voicemail from the district manager who reviewed my BBB complaint. He refunded my CC and apologized for the situation. Thank you so much! read more

I am disappointed definitely in this locatio. I rented a space online, paid for it, it requires me to come in to show my id in order to receive my gate code. I drive 59 miles to to do so 1.50 hours before closing and they are closed when it clearly states oine that the office hours are 9-6pm daily. So I called the main line and told them that it was super inconvenient because I work all week and commute hours to and from my job and on the weekends I go see my family who I don't see all week. So now I have to take a day off work to be there at 9:30am when they open and to show my ID and move all my things. The lady on the phone told me that they left early because they had no other appointments for the rest of the day. I think that's crazy and unprofessiona and if I had the choice I would switch storages. They need to have a better system and better customer service. I hate that I had to leave this review and it's proba only the 3 rd review I've ever left in my life but I'm just so upset about them not being in the office during office hours. Yes I even called that location before driving and I just thought maybe they stepped out to use the restroom or was out on the premises doing their walkthroughs. read more

Watch out for outrageous and unfair rate increases! I rented an 8x8 unit for $44 a month in March, was assured it wasn't an introductory rate and that it would remain the same. I even have a contract confirming this. Now, just five months later, I've been notified that my rate will skyrocket by 260% to $114 in August! When I called, they said there was nothing they could do. I feel deceived into renting from them. I plan to move out, even if it costs me extra, because I refuse to deal with such a dishonest operation. read more

This location sucks. We've rented a 10x20 space here for 5+ years and every single year the rent has gone up. We started at $152/month in 2020 to $175 to $241 to $325 to $412 to the current rate of $503/month. This with no value added services or upgrades to the facility. We understand labor inflation would have caused some increase but NOT 300%. This location also has the most limited access hours compared to all of the others in the area. 6am to 6pm versus 6am to 9pm. Needless to say, we have found another storage unit in Concord minutes from our home with extended access hours at half the price. Wishing you better luck if you decide to rent here. read more

I had a bad experience with this Public Storage location on Treat Blvd in Concord. I reserved 2 units online, then came to see the units and no one was at the office. I was charged $559 in advance, 2 weeks before ever moving into or seeing the space. Had to call, leave voice mail, wait for a call back and set up an appointment just to see the storage units that I reserved and was charged for. One was in a super inconvenient location and was too small. I asked for a larger space and was told it would be over $350 for the new unit, which was WAY more than the same sized unit at any other Public Storage location. I spoke with Amber. By the time I left, I canceled one of my units and only held the other until I could book somewhere else. I was so frustrated with Amber trying to gouge me. She did not communicate well at all, is lacking in customer service skills, and did not seem to know her job that well. She also said the location is only open from 9am-6pm weekdays or 9am-5pm on weekends. All the other Public Storage places in the area are open from 6am-9pm, every day of the week! I ended up booking 2 much larger drive up access units (a 10x15 and a 10x20) at another location, and it cost me $370 for the first month with a special they were running (and the property manager was VERY helpful), and quite a bit less for monthly costs. Even though this location on Treat Blvd would have been more convenient for me after my move, I canceled both units and booked at a different location with a much better customer experience. I just want to retract my review that I did yesterday about this place 4415 public storage. Michelle that works there is a great person, but the manager wouldn't even work with me saying that this one storage that Michelle approved me for or was about to approve me for was up charge from $333 to 500 a month and I was willing to pay up to 6 months. Here's where the problem started there's service center evidently doesn't know what they're doing they both be one for Antioch I said okay well they must have made a mistake can I get the same price at the one over here on treat no we only have one for 500 bucks. I was like that's kind of scandalous being that I'm trying to rent it for 6 months for my classic car it was a 10x30. Guess what You guys missed out on $1,853. Because the manager is trying to brown nose for the company and charge me hella more money I'm good. There's too many other storage places around that I can go to will never rent from them even on a tiny space. Like I always say management always has to mess up what you see the good workers have built by being greedy. read more

This place is the most over rated storage going. They were cracks in the floor that let in ants. The rollup door would catch and I'd have to get on the bumper of my car to get it free. There was never a rope to pull down my door so I had to jump up and grab it, the bulb inside of my unit was burnt out and they replaced it and it lasted two more months, and I asked for to be replaced again and they never came by to do that job. Their hours were horrible, because you had to either take a day off work because they didn't open till 9 o'clock am and they closed at 6 PM, or you wouldn't be able to get to your stuff or wait for a weekend. For all of this wonderfulness, I got to pay them, probably the most expensive rent for a garage I've ever paid as the price was outlandish. I started in 2021 at $335 plus $15 insurance not bad but then within six months it had been raised to $365 plus $15 plus insurance in the final straw that broke the camels back. They were raising it again from $380 a month to $465 a month. That's a 20% rate increase year over year. If you've got a lot of stuff and you need to store it shop around and don't go for convenience because there is nothing about Public Storage that makes any sense and they bring you in on some cheap rate for the first month but after that you're on your own, consider this a warning. I found new storage and I won't mention the company until after I've been there for a while for about half the price, it pays to shop. read more

I have had nothing but a great experience with this location. I have had a unit with them for 3 yrs and feel totally secure that my things are safe. My rent had continued to go up each year and one call to SAM at the Treat blvd location in Concord got my rent reduced by $45 per month as a courtesy. He was so helpful and professional, he had my problem solved before he even called me back. I will always recommend this storage company and this particular location. read more

Worst storage facility ever! I informed the office staff that I was vacating same day and she indicated no problem. She informed me that they do not prorate your bill so even though I was vacating the 1st of the month, I would still have to pay for that whole month. I understood and the month was pId even though I vacated. A couple months passed and I was getting calls for past due fees and I stated I had already vacated. The lady stated she was just covering and would relay that message. I then started getting calls from a collection agency for 450 dollars worth of past due fees. It's incredible, district manager William was utterly a waste of time. He was rude and had no customer service etiquette which explains why the girls who work the office are always on long breaks so they are rarely in the office. I had an email confirming my receipt to vacate the premises and he still did not care to cancel the report to collections. He stated there was some things he had to remove and a lock to cut which is why he will not cancel the reporting. All my belongings and my children's belongings including the lock I have. I've never missed one payment and this is how they treat their customers that give them business ... They are crooks. Now I Have to deal with their legal department which is a huge inconvenience, but hopefully they stop taking advantage of people or situations just to get another dollar! Zero stars read more

I will never trust another Public Storage facility again! I went to check on my items that I stored and was told that all my belongings were in dumpster out back of their site. I questioned them as to why they would resort to such evil tactics and they simply said nothing. My bill was paid. I had to literally crawl in the dumpster myself (in the dark) and retrieve my belongings. Most of my items were dirty and some were beyond repair. I couldn't even get to everything since other garbage had been thrown on top of my stuff. I looked up the protocol and they were suppose to send me a registered letter prior to disposing of my valuables. I'm outraged! I even contacted Public Storage Corporate Customer Service and the dude at the call center was zero help. He merely said to contact the owners of Public Storage. Don't bother with this place! I don't really like to give two (2) stars or less in my reviews, but this Public Storage has earned it. Customer for a little over five (5) years and inquired after the first year about discounts for long term storage. My storage needs were at the time a long term need. The manager at the time told me there was no discounts available, and I asked for a district manager, he also told me there were no discounts available. (I should have moved my stuff then but didn't.) In October of 2006 while on vacation Public Storage called me to tell me I needed to come in during office hours to meet with them, apon further questions from me they beleived that my unit may have been broken into. Someone had cut locks and replaced them with their own, and placed a look a like Public Storage sticker on the lock. I filed a police report, and tried to file a claim with the insurance company (they require you to buy this insurance or they will not rent to you), and got the run around from the insurance co. They wanted all kinds of information and photo's of the items which were taken, receipts, and apporoximate valvue. I could not put a price on family holiday decor, other items collected through out the years, and could not provide a receipt for a bike I had purchased more than 5 years ago. Public Storage did not take any part of the blame for the break in, and said that they perform daily checks of the locks. Yeah right like they are going to walk the entire property every day checking anywhere from 1000-3000 units and locks. They don't have security camera's. Never again will I use Public Storage for future storage needs, and nor will any of my friends and family. read more

Five stars for the location and not on the company. True, the rate increases and on-again off-again good deals are ridiculous but that's not controlled by the location and since each location has it's own separate yelp listing it seems fair to rate by location. Move-in move-out was a breeze. I've dealt with a couple of different staff members at different times and they've each been awesome wether on the phone or in person. Friendly, helpful, smart. Absolutely avoid this company. False advertising! They post a price on the internet, but for some odd reason, their website doesn't work with Apple computers. Aren't half the computers in the state of California, Apple? So i called their customer service and one hour later and seven different agents, i found out I was victim of one of their advertising scams. They post $177 for a 10 by 10 space, but that is only for internet reservations and since their website doesn't work, you call and the cheapest is $216. Hum... and they think nothing of putting you on hold and jerking you off passing you along from one agent to another for endless holds. They certainly lost me as a potential customer! DO NOT USE THIS STORAGE - RATS, RATS, RATS!!! Our belongings have been stored here for 7 months and this past Saturday we found a family of RATS in our unit. There were 4 large rats plus a litter of new baby rates. Our unit was infested and we don't even know how long. We told the site manager, Amber, about it when we first saw droppings just a month and a half ago and she told us we had to put a claim in with the insurance company, so we did. The following weeks later we get a call from Amber stating our unit has now been broken into along with 3 other units in the same C building. Again, Amber tells us there is nothing they can do and we have to put a claim in with the insurance company. Amber's attitude seemed unapologetic and that she didn't care about anyone's belongings. My husband also notified the District Manager and he was useless as he had the same attitude. We notified him immediately on Saturday and he told us he doesn't work weekends, but that he will have to check it on Monday. Monday comes - he brings Terminix down to assist with the rat problem and THEY won't even go in there because they said this was a health hazard! This place needs to be shut down!! read more

Do not use this storage unit unless you want your belongs infested with rats! I would not even give this storage unit one star. My husband and I had are belong in this storage unit for only 66 day and our unit was infested with rate. The rats ate and ruined over 3000 dollars worth of our belongings I talk to Derrick who was the area manager and he stated there was nothing he could do but give us a discount on another storage unit. I informed him that we just bought a new house and no longer need one. He said there was nothing he could do for us. My husband then reached out to BBB and asked for them to pay for our damage belongings, they declined the request, we sent a second request asking for a full refund for the time we were there and they never replied. What cowards. We will never use this company and you can be sure none of our friends and family will ever use them again. My brother had a storage unit with them at a different location and I help him move out to a different storage company. They lost my brothers business and any future business from or friends anf family. Oh and the worst part is they are fully aware of the rat problem. I spoke to the lady at the front counter and she stated that they have has the pest control out for the last 6 months or so. I made my payment online and was double charged 2 weeks later the company still had not refunded me my money. I spoke with 3 separate people only to find out that they wanted me to contact my bank as it was apparently my problem. There was an error that appears on their website 2 weeks later there is still an error that appears on their website. It should be their responsibility to take care of issues that occur due to an error on their website. In addition to this my rent was once again raised for my unit by an entire 6 dollars. They said they contacted me via mail about the rent, which just like last time, they did not. The first rent increase was also only about six months ago. As a customer since 06 i believe, i deserved much more respect in the way all these situations were handled. Working in customer service im appaulled by in the incompitence and lack of communication as well as urgency to resolve these matters. I will be vacating this property...i am less than eager to see the current shape of the property as i havent set foot there in years. So who knows...u may hear from me again. read more
