DO NOT RENT FROM ANY PUBLIC STORAGE!!! Especially the Citrus Heights location. This location illegally raises rents prices by claiming to mail rent increase notifications, then hold your property hostage. They email ALL notifications EXCEPT rent increases, which they suspiciously send via mail with no tracking or signature required. The customer service is AWFUL!! Michaela and Raylene are not only rude, but they don't return calls, claim they have no control over situations, hang up on you rather than answer questions and are ultimately unfit for management titles. Try any other storage facility rather than using this one!! I gave a 1 star because you can't give zero. read more

Omg I love Ethan! Initially, I was apprehensive about coming to this storage facility alone, but every time I visit, I typically encounter Ethan diligently working, whether he's scrubbing the elevator or cleaning the roll-up doors. Just having someone there that cares makes me feel allot better about leaving my belongings here and feeling like it is in good hands! I think for a woman going to any storage unit alone can be scary but with staff around specifically Ethan walking the premises greeting people etc has made me feel at ease and I no longer feel hesitant about visiting the storage unit as a woman. The cleanliness and security measures in place here make me feel safe and ensure the protection of my belongings. Ethan, thank you for your dedication and exceptional customer service! This storage place was once a storage my family used since 2000. This past 2 years, has been HORRIBLE, down right dishonest, and sadly not a safe place to store your personal, prized possessions. My children's storage was not broken into, but almost EVERYTHING was taken, and supposedly the cameras were down, and it shows that there was no signs of anyone entering, however, how does one get away with a truck load of things that are from a 3 bedroom 3 bath home? All of their stuff was stolen and the receptionist had the audacity to say that no one was entering or exiting from there storage, which is a lie, because how on earth are the items gone. I strongly suggest not using them, Citrus Heights police didn't do anything about it either. Any help recommended please. Thanks read more

The gate is mechanical and does not function if it rains. The manager and the corporate phone number support team can do nothing to fix it; they will call someone out to come within the next 72 hours. If you've rented a moving truck or made plans around bringing your things to the storage you are paying for? Too bad, lol. If you're INSIDE the gate, and it will not open, and you can't get out? Too bad! Lol, you're trapped now. They'll unlock the "pedestrian" entrance and you can walk out, leaving all your belongings AND YOUR VEHICLE inside. That's their "solution", lmao. Absolutely bananas to be paying over $100 a month for a facility I cannot even reliably access during their own operating hours. read more

the elevator broke and since the staff here (Ethan) only works on the property 2-3 days a week, every time the repairman comes, nobody is here to let them in. it has been over a week since we had access to our unit because there is no way to the 2nd floor without a working elevator. absolutely ridiculous. read more

This used to be a good place when a property manager named Kiera was there. They no longer have people onsite. The office only has a kiosk there and the office is completely empty. No way to buy boxes or bubble wrap anymore. I went to my unit last month and this side door I use to access my unit was open, I didn't think anything about it (other people were using it that entrance).. I went to it today and there was no keypad nothing. After several calls to the 916 number, I find out they renovated everything and it no longer exists. I now have to walk a significant distance to open a door that is about 12 feet from my unit. I was never given any info on how to get to my unit and had to get a new keypad number. Will be vacating as soon as I can. I'm stuck until the end of this month at least because I have to give a 30-day notice. But I don't think they honestly care because they can probably charge more for my unit. I'm going to be looking for another storage place. Bummer since it's up the street from where I live. Don't rent from here. read more

Ethan was was wonderful in providing a personal touch to an otherwise completely automated process, with his welcome call to me this morning. The automated process is wonderful too. It was nice going from laptop to move in without ever meeting anyone, but for Ethan to add that personal welcoming really added a human factor, which I enjoyed greatly. read more

My experience here was great. I came over with a lot of confusion on the account but the property manager Renelle was very helpful and got everything set up properly. I rented from January to today, the last day of July. She came out and made sure to to close me out so she wouldn't bill me for a month if I wasn't here. She was awesome! A heads up to everyone, this place has horrible security and is not willing to help when you get you're storage broken into. My storage was burglarized and now my kids are missing more than half their belongings and my wife's childhood photos are all gone. Not to mention the more than $5000 worth of miscellaneous stuff. We pay monthly for the insurance program and all the insurance (Sedgwick) says is that they will not pick up the claim because there is no proof of burglary. Public storage won't even take the time to look into the occurrence and now the location manager runs into her Chrysler 300 and drives away when she sees my wife or I pull up. This place is unprofessional and could care less about your belongings. read more

Obviously covid has had many negative impacts , and I'm not making lite of that in any way. Nonetheless, there has certainly been ways in which it's changed the way some things happen, for the better. The new system Public Storage has instituted, was simplicity itself. I found the location near me, picked the size I wanted , filled out all the paperwork online , made my payment , and the gate code was texted to me. The space was easy to find , with the map sent to me (also by text). The door was secured with a zip tie , and the lock and key was inside (I probably could've saved a few bucks and said I'd provide my own, or maybe not). The gate code worked when I drove up, carts were available , I don't know what else you'd want. And once again I found myself thinking , why wasn't this the way this worked all the time? read more

I'm in my first month and it's been pretty good! They have equipment to use to help move items into your storage unit. That was a nice surprise! I do wish there was more available to use though. Service has been fine here. Pleasant and helpful. But my rates have gone up at least 4 times in less than two years. Overall a 45% increase. Maybe it's a game where I need to call in and negotiate like with cell phone companies but I don't have time for games. If it was 5%, 10% every year. I Get it. But this is about every 5 months. They have priced me out of being a customer. Just the kick I needed to get rid of more stuff. Thank you. read more

I like that this is a small property with climate control. I've had a unit here for well over 6 years with only a couple of minor incidents that were quickly corrected. Up until the new Manager took over, I never had a problem with harassment the way I have since Shanda has taken control of this property. Although I've always paid the late fee within the month on occasion, I'm treated as though I've committed the ultimate sin. I've had to set boundaries because of it. This month I had forgotten, thought my double payment covered October, but upon receiving her call past the 10th, again I was treated as though I was stealing her personal money. Shanda.... If I want to pay late within a month, I'll pay the late fee and move on to the next month. I'm sorry if that hurts your feelings, but that's the best I can do for. So, please don't threaten me again when I ask a question. Don't tell me that you have put notes in my file that "doesn't look good to corporate". I haven't called corporate, I have a lot more pressing things to do with my time, but if we don't come to a mutual respect, it will be my priority. So in fairness to the property itself, ie, location and size, and to Public Storage for holding my account, I'll give 3 star rating. If not for that, I would give it a 1 star and start looking for a new location. read more

This was the 2nd time i rented space at this facility to clear clutter out of the house. The units are clean and well maintained. I appreciated that they never tried to oversell me on the rental size that I really needed. I especially think Renee is tops in customer service, very accommodating and called me once when the unit was accidentally left unlocked. She secured it until I could get there to lock it properly. The time came when my significant other and I made the goal of rid ourself of the accumulated "stuff" from our home. It was a conveinence to choose PS, however my family's history with this business, PS not so great. I felt that was the past, don't remember the issues either, so I put three Apt. Complex store rooms of home improvement, things accquired over the years and of course the music equipment into a large unit in hopes to organize the mound into a well appreciated extension of this collection. I believe that policy takes front seat over customer service, and this can make a big difference in one's opinion about service. Only when the right person applies policy with the mutual understanding of why a person with time on their hands only took on a storage unit in hopes to make their pile of things seem worth the efforts of holding onto such things. I find that now, and perhaps for the last several years that PS does not want their customers spending to much time at the facility. I can assume many serious situations that would imply bad business, grounds for a strict policy. The former manager at PS Citrus Heights is just that right person, Thank You, Shanda for outstanding customer service. I hope future management Will consider everyone's needs when it comes to policy. Reserved on line and completed the extended reservation for a quicker check in on a Tuesday to claim on Saturday. When I arrived on Saturday they guy was on the phone and waited to acknowledge then asked if I would wait, no problem. Then he bounced between the person on the phone and me without looking at me so I wasn't sure when he was actually addressing me or them.... one he checked I was informed they cancelled my reservation due to lack of contact when they attempted to call my house phone once, no email, nothing...and they weren't sure if they had my unit any longer. Once I proved my reservation and confirmation they pulled it up and it was showing almost $50 more a month and that they couldn't change the price even though I showed what I locked it in for, umm no thank you.... very bad business, I went elsewhere! read more
