I loved Darcy and then I got a 40 % jump in my rate within 6 months of my first rent. ( I don't blame her) I am on a fixed income. I called the District Manager at least to have a pleasant conversation and an explanation? No one has ever called me back. Enough horrible customer support that I will look for another storage facility unless I can get someone to talk to me to tell me why - 40 %? That seems egregious. read more

I was looking around on short notice and had a pleasant experience with securing a storage unit on the phone, along with a very friendly and helpful on-site manager Darcy. Darcy made the whole process move very smoothly and even my sons had such a fun time riding on the golf cart towards the unit we used. Now we only had the unit for a month since we needed quick & temporary storage in between houses. The facility is clean and small, but has everything you would need for your storage needs. VERY friendly, helpful people. Both Darcy and Dan are the best. Units are clean and easy to get to. My only complaint is I feel the ads are misleading. They did not offer a month free or any promos as stated in the ads. Also, they rates change daily so if you need storage during the peak season u will pay more. We were in the middle of making our home purchase when we realized we would not get our home in time for the move. We had already sold our property and needed to move within the week. We went to our local Public Storage, Union City on Whipple/Dyer, and met Elizabeth who was not only helpful, she was AMAZING! She showed us a unit that we felt was too small for our needs. She didn't have what we were looking for so she looked around other locations for us. She took her time to assist us. She referred us to Darcy at Grove Way Castro Valley location. At this point we were already stressed from packing and the actual move but as soon as we walked in and met Darcy, our attitude changed completely. She was very warm and funny we just appreciated her service very much. She took care of us with a great smile and positive attitude. We have never used public storage. We have never needed public storage. But last month we wanted to begin to remodel our basement (in anticipation of a future relocation) and we needed the extra space to move the many items we have stored ("hoarded" according to our kids) for the last 40 years. I called this location (2445 Grove Way, CV) first, based on their yelp reviews and was lucky enough to be offered 3 different sizes of storage spaces. That is where Darcy was so helpful. I took the largest one available and this was due to Darcy's advice and guidance - that this would be the ideal size for our needs. When I went into their office to "close the deal" there were two other people inquiring about the space I had already taken. Since we began renting the space, we have delivered stuff at least 4 times. The space remains the same: clean, well-lighted, secure and guarded by Darcy. One more thing, we highly recommend buying the lock recommended by Darcy; it is more secure from bolt cutters than anything you could buy at a hardware store. We brought our own but elected to buy and use theirs instead. read more
