On occasion the manager at this facility has asked for a review and I am pleased to accommodate her. As of this writing I have moved out after a usage of approximately one year, and was in & out of the unit to retrieve or re-store items usually twice a month or more... In summary they have my highest recommendation. To wit: Cleanliness - Excellent; indoor facilities are dust & dirt free, odor free, and never once incurred or saw presence of insects or rodents. Temperature - not too hot or too cold through all seasons. Security - Excellent; entry codes are specific to active paid accounts and to the specific individual. Can be changed any time if needed. They also require the same code to get back out of the property which is a major plus. Camera systems are active and they of course have 24 hr onsite personnel. Unique plus: A clean bathroom which is always available during business hours, and in capacities they are capable of are always customer service oriented if some nominal assistance may avail... It is typical we all tend to look for the most convenient storage when needed and if this facility falls into that window for you, you need look no further. My husband I and had a storage unit there for approximately 3 years. When the rent kept going up, we decided to switch to another storage company closer to our house that was much cheaper. Since they auto draft your account, they drafter our account for the month we moved out and we were told that we would get a credit in 4-6 weeks. It is now 7 weeks and still no refund. We have made several visits to the location to inquire, but are always told that it should be any day. If you're late on your rent they will slap you with a late fee immediately. But if they overcharge you, don't expect any speedy service. We are having to spend way too much energy fighting to get our money back that they never should have drafted. Personally, I don't see why they couldn't just credit our account immediately, but now at 7+ weeks I am beyond irritated. Much better places out there that are more convenient and cheaper. I will keep fighting to get the money they owe us, but I would hate to see anyone else have to go through this. Too much corporate red tape and excuses. read more

I have only positive things to say for Debbie who was very responsive, professional and helpful. We needed a larger unit to store cars and they didn't have anything bigger than 10x20 and we are also storing house stuff.However, after reading recent reviews of theft I am glad it turns out we had to leave. A buddy of ours got broken into and robbed at a different Public Storage too, maybe stay away from PS...? The negative is the inconvenience of having to get in and out of your car to open the gate as the key pads are along the fence. Not the biggest deal in the world but highly annoying. Additionally, our "10x20" unit was on the corner and was actually 10x14 with a small just out angle that does not actually compensate for the length being short. I would recommend bringing a tape measure and confirming the size of your unit! We went back to Watson and Taylor down the road. read more

Debbie lied. I called the 800 number and asked several times if I would get the promotion of $1 and they said yes. I then reserved online. Debbie then called me and I asked her the same question if I would get the 1$ rate and she said yes. I then get off of work and go to the storage and Debbie takes my drivers license, email, address, secondary contact info, emergency contact info and then says 'oh the promotion is no longer available'. The website still says $1 and the sign on her office window still says $1 and I reserved online to hold the price of $1. NOTHING WAS HONORED. PURE BS. Waste of my time! read more

Warning: these guys don't have any security, even though the local police department gets multiple reports of theft straight from units and has asked them multiple times to get basic security measures like security cameras. Don't trust a place that can't even follow community law enforcement suggestions and manage their own property. I'm fairly sure their staff is involved in the thefts as there are just too many happenstance conveniences for the thieves, in my case and in others. Also, read the "non recommended reviews". There are other people with stories about this shady place. read more

If there were negative stars this place would deserve it. The $1 first month is a complete rip off and you will pay, believe me you will pay. Plus the staff here can't seem to grasp the idea of charging for one month at a time. I have only rented for three months so far and they have billed me incorrectly each month. They have some much metal around the lock on the door you can only use special locks they sell. They sell them at FULL retail and again, you cannot just use just any lock to secure your door. DON'T go to the staff thinking they can help they only say you have to call corporate. OH AND CALLING THE AREA MANAGER WILL ONLY GET YOU A RECORDING THAT HE LISTENS TO EVERY MESSAGE AND RETURNS THEM ALL, BUT HE WILL NEVER CALL YOU. If you need a code I guess they can help you there, but you only need a cell phone to get past that and you will be less stressed then dealing with the staff. Corporate is as ineffectual as the in office staff. You will want to use a land line as you will be kept on hold for a long time. All in all I would rather move to IRAQ then use another Public Storage ever again. read more

I was at first pleased with this location, but let me tell you what happened. First of all, they told me that in order for me to rent at this location it was mandatory that I have insurance (which conveniently they sell, they pushed it and said that it was the only storage insurance that they will accept, total lie). Then, I thought at one point that I lost my keys to my lock. We dremelled off the lock (the front office took at least an hour and a half to notice we were doing this, the only reason they saw us was someone was renting a unit right where our vehicle was parked, they then stated that they had to stand there and watch us Dremel off the lock) to see that half of our stuff was stolen, including my husbands inherited items from his grandfather during WWII. It was then we realized someone had cut OUR LOCK off and replaced it with their own so they could steal more stuff at their leisure. When we opened the unit, one of the office workers was standing there, when I said where is our stuff, they just walked away and didn't even say anything. I then ran to catch up to her and stated half of our stuff was gone and they said to come to the front office, where they just handed me the brochure for their insurance company that they made me purchase a policy through and said to call them and the police department. We reported it to the police department. I then receive a phone call from the police stating that they have had several thefts at this location and regardless of warnings from the police department they refuse to upgrade security as simple as getting security cameras and making the gate more secure. I am now moving my items elsewhere and still going through the process with their insurance to see if I can even get some money for the stuff that was damaged during the theft as well as the items that were stolen. I am doubtful in this as I have seen several news broadcasts stating that their insurance is a joke and that nobody sees a dime from this insurance company. Also, the reason they push this company is because they OWN IT AND IT GIVES THEM KICKBACKS!! I would stay away from this company as much as possible. And I even suspect that they noticed somebody stole some things and then didn't report it just to cover their own rear-ends so that time could pass and no leads could be found, either way, until they upgrade their security I wouldn't come here. read more

This property has a rat infestation problem that they must have known about. All of the soft sided items in my unit have been damaged by rats. i have major rat feces and a dead rat in my unit. When questioned about the issue, the onsite manager, Debbie indicated that it is a common problem and merely offered more poison to put into the unit. The district manager, Jessica, acted like they didn't know. However, they have put poison in my unit over the time that I have rented it and have opened it at least 4 times. They never let me know there was an issue. Rat feces was at the door, along with the poison that they put there. There was no way that they didn't see it. I have paid for storage for sentimental items and have paid more than the items are worth. Now I am expected to clean out the damaged items while the property and company play see no rat, smell no rat, hear no rat. Absolute rip off. I would have been better destroying my items or donating them and not paying for storage and damage to property that meant something to my wife. Poor customer service, poor property management, and no value for the money. I would never rent from this property again and would be leery of any property in this area after dealing with the district manager. BUYER BEWARE. SHOULD BE LESS THAN 1 STAR. read more

I recently moved my stored belongings out of a unit at the Realty Road location in Carrollton. I was very pleased that the unit stayed so clean during the 18 months of storage. There was one small dead bug on the floor and a few cobwebs in the corners. The facility is very well-maintained, and the staff friendly and helpful, especially Debbie. read more
