This place appreciates their customers and knows how to do business…read more I have had a unit here for several years. The manager Anthony busts his rear to keep the place clean, and take care of the renters. One time on a Sunday around6am, I went to see if they were open cause I needed to pick up some stuff, and there was Anthony, cleaning trash up on the site...on a Sunday, early morning. Gotta love it. Plus, if there is a problem they take care of it right away. This is just my experience, but if you ask me, this is the best experience I have had with any storage facility in many years and many different places.

When we returned to retrieve our belongings, we were horrified to find the entire unit had been overrun by rats. The rodents had chewed through every layer of protection, plastic, fabric, and even into the wood furniture. All of our upholstered items were destroyed. Cardboard boxes were shredded, and rat droppings were everywhere. This wasn't a few mouse droppings in the corner, this was a full-blown infestation. We had to throw nearly everything away. As anyone who's used storage knows, it's already a losing game, you pay month after month while your belongings slowly depreciate. But Sentry Storage takes this to a new level. Here, your possessions don't just lose value, they're actively destroyed. To make matters worse, when I called to cancel the unit, I was told I needed to do so in writing. The employee on the phone even suggested I fax the cancellation, yes, in 2025. When I pointed out how absurd that was, I asked for the store manager to call me so I could cancel like a normal human being.

I…read morehave had a storage unit at this location for over 2 years and recently I have noticed that more homeless are renting units at this location. It does not make me feel comfortable when I come alone as a woman. When I noticed the homeless hanging out in the storage units I actually text my sister of my location because that's how worried I was going to my unit recently 11/13 because of what I noticed on my last visit of them hanging out. On my way out of my unit on 11/13 as I was exiting the gate a homeless man rode his bike straight through the gate, no hesitation, did not enter a code and not one of the front desk workers even got up to do anything about it. I took the time to go inside to let them know and both workers acted as if they did not see it happened which the office sits right in front of the gate. The new onsite manager tried to explain that she is new and doing her best to shut down on the homeless coming on to the grounds but I don't feel confident in her assurance. It frustrates me that the storage fees continue to go up but my belongings are at risk of being vandalized or stolen because I know eventually that it's bound to happen to one of the units. After I notified the front desk I leave and notice that someone has left the walk-in gate opened up for more intruders to enter the grounds! That was my confirmation the homeless are free to roam this area. Smh Customers should be aware and also potential customers as well

I've been with American River Self Storage for nearly a decade. This month marks 10 years -- and…read morethat alone should say something. I've never had an issue with my units, the grounds, or the overall safety of the facility. I genuinely enjoy being here. Over the years, I've referred many people, and at least four of my immediate family members currently rent units here as well. Office management is amazing Scott and Lawrence deserve real recognition. Scott is the on-site backbone of this facility -- the one you see constantly staying on top of the grounds, making sure everything is clean, maintained, and running smoothly day in and day out. His customer service is phenomena; he's dependable, consistent, patient, respectful, and always willing to assist. Lawrence is also phenomenal to work with -- professional, helpful, and always clear when handling anything that involves paperwork or questions. Together, Scott and Lawrence make the office run the way it should, and they're a major part of why I've stayed loyal all these years. When I need something done, they make the process simple and straightforward, every time. To be transparent, I do avoid dealing with one staff member: Ian. My interactions with him have been consistently difficult. His tone comes across condescending, like you know less than you do and he tends to complicate simple requests instead of clarifying them. A recent experience -- I was moving things between my two units and using the electrical outlet on the wall. I'd been plugged in for about two and a half hours with no problem, and then 45 minutes before closing Ian suddenly came out to tell me I wasn't allowed to use it. So it took 150 minutes for you to realize and address the issue. A few days later, I called to ask if they stil had any larger unit I oreviously discussed with Scott available so I could consolidate, and in the middle of the conversation he repeats, "And just to remind you, you also can't use the electrical outlets." At that point, it felt unnecessary. I heard you the first time I'm an adult, I understood it, and repeating it came off exactly the way my experiences with him usually feel. Aside from that, this facility has been nothing but dependable -- clean grounds, secure units, and reliable management. I've been here almost ten years, I currently have two units, and I don't plan on going anywhere else. If you're looking for a storage facility you can actually trust long-term, with staff who genuinely take care of their tenants, ask for Lawrence or Scott. They're the reason so many of us stay loyal to American River Self Storage.
