Almost 5 years and finally was able to get out, Let's get into this. The front desk people over the years have had fantastic customer service. They are always ready to answer any questions and they will help find the right locker options for you. The place is normally clean yet some of the equipment is missing or broke. For instance they don't have push carts in all the buildings so one must go on a hunt to find them. Then if you find one their is about a 40% chance it's broke. The rent for lockers. My rent never went up over the years however it was a bit pricey to begin with. The rents seem to be about 10 to 15% over the average. All in all with the heated lockers and the good security you can rest assured that your items are safe. I would recommend this establishment however I would strongly recommend looking at all options first to ensure you get the best bang for your buck. let me preface this by saying the staff are nothing less than stellar at the local location. But, having your unit locked DOWN and blocked because you are a few days to a week late, with NO compassion or concession to work things out? Deplorable. This is on the corporate side, not local. But I am livid. It's one thing to go 30 days with out payment. Quite another to be treated, in THIS economy, like a ne'er do well / criminal for putting paying your house rent first over storage (and a storage that is hiked up in price every few months, without any option to negotiate.) I have had a unit here for about a year and a half. In that time my rent has gone up twice and I now pay DOUBLE my initial rent. Additionally, my unit has been broken into (no compensation for that, just a "Sorry, you need to come put a new lock on your unit"). A friend at this same location discovered extensive rat damage and rat feces in their unit - no compensation for that either. They promptly moved out and I am looking at doing the same. During the past two months, I've received excellent customer service from Ian at the Canyon Park Public Storage located in Bothell. Ian is excellent and meeting customers where they're at and helping them work through any issues. He is extremely solution oriented and is very calm and kind. WARNING: The gate at this location does not always work, and frequently there is no one on site to get you out! I was locked in and could not get out for nearly two hours until a person walking by came and helped me. Public storage knew the gate had been acting up, but stayed open without being available for help. I was sold a irregular shaped larger unit for a discounted price because I was told no one wanted it, 6 months later my rent increased $100 per month (40%) without notice or reason! I definitely do not need this large of a space and would have never rented it for the price it is now. My option is to move spaces or move out but there are not any available that fit my needs. read more

Had to get storage in a hurry so I rented a large unit form this location. Price was expensive but ok, I own that.... The "fill in" manager is definitely a hard sell lady-- piling all sorts of "extras" on to you without listening to what you are saying. Probably on some type of commission I suspect. Not terribly helpful- more interested in getting the unit signed up and the money..... Attitude/personality? Ok I guess--not terribly impressed but at least I do not have to deal with here too often. They were pleasant and efficient. When it came time to close out the unit, there was a small misunderstanding on my part but they worked with me to help resolve it. Dont be fooled by the $1 first month rent. The small print reads "only certain units" BUT they don't tell you that.....you have to ask!!! THEN they hard sell you to a buy a $17 lock that you don't need while filling you full of fear if you use anything else but THEIR lock THEN, after you sign the lease, they tell you you must have insurance which starts at $15/month. Hmmmm, I wonder who profits from that????? Have NEVER run into a storage unit that requires insurance and we have rented from several, including Public Storage. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Brandon is a nice guy and was willing to be helpful and assist. Appreciate his efforts, but I paid for a 10x10 outside drive up space and when I arrived at the facility I was assigned a irregular shaped corner unit that was not 10x10. In asking for a regular shape 10x10 like I paid for I was told none were available . When I asked if I could be given an additional 5x10 as a goodwill gesture I was told no. When asked for a discount on the additional 5x10 space was told no. It seems that should have been done since I did not get what I paid for.. It remains to be seen if all of my items will fit into the irregular space. read more

Haven't had any issues with our units except light bulbs that didn't work. Corey changed out our first unit's bulb, but our second unit is a whole 'nother beast because the bulb is way too high and there's nothing anyone can do about it. I'm docking one star because we can't see inside the unit at night. Other than that, both Corey and Chris were professional and answered all of our questions when we signed up for our units. Carts are provided for help when moving items and storage material such as tape, boxes, wrap, etc. we're on sale at good prices if needed. What you should know: the folks who work in the office get commi$$ion from selling you merchandise in the on-site store and insurance policies. Public Storage also requires customers to use THEIR type of locks, which are hard to find. But of course you can buy them there. In the 15 months I owned a storage unit, my rate was raised twice, for a total of 30% increase over the initial price. By the end I was paying $387/month for a 10x15. Don't be late on your payment or they'll charge you an additional 20% late fee. In case of an "oops," your 10x15 unit could cost $464. There are better prices all around there. Twice I found bird poop and feathers on my items and report to management. Once, the person suggested that I purchase an insurance policy from him after reminding me that Public Storage wasn't responsible for my contents. Two stars because I never found evidence of rats or mice, the place was well secured, the entry code always worked for me, and there was always someone in the office to answer any of my questions. read more

I have stored my stuff here for a year. And today, on Superbowl Sunday, I moved out a year to the date of my move in. Debby was so wonderful in that she noticed we were moving and as we drove away, she called me. I hadn't even given notice yet and being that it was the first day of the month, I assumed I would have to pay the whole month so decided I would sweep it out later in the day. She told me to pop back in and pay for just this day. Wow...and I told her I would run home and get a broom to sweep it out and she said she already took care of it for me. How nice. I really appreciated the service I received. The only drawback that I had was that the light never did work the whole time I was there and it was my own fault for not saying anything. Safe was friendly. The layout of the property is horrible. It was built on a hill and my unit was on a slop so the cart would roll down hill while loading in. This location out of all of the other Public Storage locations within a 10 mile radius runs $20 more. I've been at this location for 6 months and received a notice my rate was increasing only 7%, but this increase on top of the already +$20 extra isn't worth the pain in the arse layout. This place is awful. I specifically asked if they had climate controlled units and was told "yes we do". I then asked to see the unit. The building on that day felt cool inside so I assumed in fact it was climate controlled. I have to say it looked dingy and a bit dirty so I asked them to sweep it out. My gut was telling me this place was not good but I was in need of something quick. When I set up my account I thought it was strange they mandated I have insurance and sign something about mold (basically that they are not responsible for any damage). I had never been asked this by a storage unit before. Low and behold I come back to my storage unit a month later to find it hot, humid and all my boxes damp with humidity. It was NOT climate controlled and only had a fan running in the building. I opened my boxes to find my clothes damp with humidity. I went to the office to speak to the same person that sold me the "supposed climate controlled" who now tells me a fan is a form of climate control. I flipped out at this insult as I worked in the relocation and moving industry and there is only one definition of climate controlled. Even google agrees if you google it. It involves a thermostat and to carefully regulate the temperate (controlling the conditions). What an ignorant statement and how insulting. He then began saying I"m sorry and talking to me about my insurance coverage for any damaged items. He failed to recognize I"m angry he lied and was deceptive in his sales. He blatantly sold me a unit that is not climate controlled telling me it was. Then I called the manager who has not answered his phone nor returned my call. I am taking this to corporate. I went in just yesterday to buy a 5x5 unit which I had reserved online. Corey, the property manager on site at that time was very friendly and actually gave me a better deal than what I had found online. The only problem is that the 5x5 unit he rented to me is actually a 5x4 unit. That suits me just fine. I just need to store some small items temporarily so I don't care if it's a bit smaller. I do think it should be advertised accordingly though. My advice is to bring a measuring tape with you when you go to look at the space if you need a specific size then you are going to want to measure it before you sign off. Seemed fine when I first rented. Staff was friendly enough and efficient. After being there 3 months, I received a notice that my rates were increasing by 25%!! I asked for consideration that I had only been there a short time and most places wait at least a year to hike your rates. Most places raise it 5% or so, but 25% is just plain ridiculous. I felt victimized and no one at the corporate level would budge one bit. Today I am moving to another company and I will not rent form Public Storage again. read more

I can tell you the conveniences of Public storage, but I also need to tell you about the people who work there. In particular, Corey has been my primary contact (although Debbie also helped a lot--see my review that describes her). My experience has been long and complicated, and it isn't over yet. Public Storage has been there helping at every turn. First, I needed a large storage unit (10x10 seemed adequate). Corey was on duty when I rented it. He showed me the special locks, but acknowledged that the padlock I had brought would work. Nonetheless, he pointed out the added value of the Public Storage locks--can't be attacked by bolt cutters. So he showed respect for the customer's desires and needs, while at the same time educating me about product differences. Next, I needed an additional storage unit. All he had available was a 5x10 in the same building as the original one. That's fine. It requires a special cylinder lock that Public Storage sells, and he showed me how to use it (it's tricky, it was good that he took the time to teach me.). I explained my overall situation, that I might need more storage. Near the end of the day, he phoned to say that a 10x10 had just this minute come free, and he wondered if I would be interested in it. Yes, I Would! I had been unclear about my storage needs, learning the situation better during the day, but he was thinking of me, and checked in when he thought he could help. Furthermore, the new 10x10 was right next to the old one, and in the same building as the 5x10, and he was able to 'convert' my rental of the 5x10 into a rental of the 10x10, at a total cost of two days. Perfect. Also, as I had only owned the cylinder lock for two days, he accepted it back in exchange for the bolt-cutter-safe lock I'd need for the big unit. I can imagine a company saying, "Oh, you already bought that one, we don't take it back." But Public Storage, wearing the face of Corey, was a neighborly and helpful partner in my moving needs. Thanks, Public Storage and Corey! But I wasn't done, as it turned out. You can see my review involving Debbie, in wading through my past orders to find the excess wardrobe boxes. But I still wasn't done. A couple of days later, I got a call about the box truck that contained the rest of the stuff from the house we moved out of--it's committed to another renter, and I need to turn it in before business opens tomorrow. I worked and worked trying to optimize the storage in the two 10x10s, and eventually realized I needed yet another storage room. From the hallway of the 10x10s, I called up PS, and got Corey! Hooray, Corey knows my situation. Sure enough, he had a 5x10 available, in fact the same one I had temporarily rented a few days before. He said I could come over to the office and sign the papers, but I had stuff strewn along both sides of the corridor, and I felt a little insecure about leaving it all there; Corey actually came over to where I was working to bring me the paperwork to sign. That is certainly not his duty; this was going beyond his duty to make a customer comfortable, smoothing the bumps in the road. I wondered if there were a dumpster, and he said there isn't, or everybody and their brother would be dumping in it. Makes sense to me. However, as he was closing the office, and my son and I were still frantically unloading the truck into the three storage units, Corey stopped by and said that, since the dumpster is currently almost empty, and it gets picked up tomorrow morning, he'd let me use it. That is so far beyond his duty, I hope he doesn't get hurt for violating policy! Bottom line is: Public Storage has provided a variety of storage needs, and they empower their employees to be active helpers, supporting and comforting their customers, and making it easy to use the facilities. Thanks again, Public Storage and Corey! I've read the reviews complaining about cost, required insurance, uncomfortable downhill driveway. I don't disagree. As it happens, PS and its people gave me comfort, service and excellent facility when I needed it. read more

I was going to rent here because it was close and the $1.00 getting in sounded good. $1.00 in, what a joke. I brought my own lock, but was told I had to buy one of the locks they sold, it only cost a cool $45.00, then I was told I had to purchase their insurance even though I have home owers which will cover any storage unit I rent. The staff was rude and told me if I didn't like it to go somewhere else. So I did. read more

Oh my gosh what nice people. I went on the property... I do rent another unit at another location that is also public but my renter wanted me to help them get extra storage closer to my rental. We went there and looked through the property. It looks so nice and clean and secure so we rented an inside unit. He helped us decide the size and saved us money because he of course was right we did not need a unit as big as we originally thought! I think his name was something like Matt... but he was not there when we were loading up my renters unit... it was the nicest lady I have ever met. I had a little trash bag and she even took it for me to throw away. What nice people! read more
