This place was a pain in my butt. I wasn't looking at my clock because I was busy. Fire department had to come open the gate for me to exit. After this happened the hours magically changed from 6am-6pm to 930am-6pm, I can't get here during those hours so I ended up moving storage to a different place. read more

The employees were chatting amongst themselves--acting more like they were in a game arcade or a beer bar than actually working--and they certainly didn't seem like diligent staff members. The business is different from when I used the storage over 10 years ago. Their greedy. Every 6 months they go up, when it was yearly before. They require you to have insurance. The one I have the wall is falling in and don't meet at the ceiling. All they say is take a picture. My problem is my sister had a storage and a lot of things have been taken out of it. They do not have enough carts to move stuff. This is the third time in a row when there were no carts available when I was here and I've arrived at various times. When I called their property manager onsite to inquire about getting a cart, their response was, "You'll just have to wait." Having carts available to move your items is integral to a good storage facility. read more

Steer clear of the first floor units. Why, you ask? It floods. Not like a little, like a lot. The worst part is that the owner knows it floods. As you can see from the reviews, it has done it numerous times during heavy rains, and I have a sneaking suspicion it will continue to do so. On a side note, after the most recent flood in November 2024, the front desk staff were extremely helpful and friendly, so props to them for making the best of an awful situation that they should not have had to handle. read more

Worst storage facility ever! Do yourself a favor and skip this place. When I first choose this place I had an internet special rate of 500 for a 10x30 space. Six months later they raised the price to 700 and every six months thereafter they raised the rent an additional 100 dollars. When I got the notice that they were raising the rent to 900 I knew it was time to go. And what do you get for this over inflated price? Well there no light or outlets to put a light in the storage. So you better bring a flashlight or be able to see in the dark! My unit was infested with spiders. I got bit every time I came. Once there was a black widow spider inside my lock. There were was no soap or paper towels in the restroom although I noticed my last day renting that they did put in a disposable hand soap dispenser and an electric hand dryer. Need to throw away trash? Not here for 800.00 dollars a month there's not even a small trash can and if throw away something in their trash can you better make sure your name is not on it or they will call you and threaten you with a fine if you ever use their trash receptacle again. Need your luck cut? You're in luck this the one amenity the provider! But you better fill out a request and wait two-three days because for 800 dollars they don't keep bolt cutters or maintenance on site. If you are desperate for a storage space and don't mind doing business with a facility that raises prices every three to six months betting on you not want to deal with in inconvenience of have to move to a new storage facility then have it. As for me I work too hard for my money and I value myself too much to continue doing business with this cash grab model storage. I do want to note that the staff is very friendly and professional and I sincerely hope they find employment at a better place they deserve better. read more

6 months - the only elevator in the main building was down for 6 months, y'all. Their saving grace was that they did not charge those of us depending on the elevator (I was on the 3rd floor) any rent during that period, but man... 6 months?!! I gave it three stars because the place is clean, and the staff was very calm considering how many people must have complained during that time. The reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 is that the higher-ups keep raising the rent to whatever the market will bear. It's storage, how great can it be, right? Well, if you have to do it, this location very clean and secure. And if you ever need help, I can't recommend Maria highly enough. Yeah, it sucked when the ground floor units flooded after the storm of the century, but she was so helpful, patient and kind with helping me find another unit, and they had people there to help me move to the other unit. I remembered that. And today, when i needed to switch to a larger unit, she helped me find the best option, working it on her end while I went thru half a dozen reservations, and went back on forth and on and on. And she did it with the same patience, ease and kindness that I remembered from 6 months ago. I dunno, you might think their just doing their job, but when dealing with an already stressful situation of having to pay money to hide away stuff you just can't figure out how to part with, Maria just made it a really positive experience. read more

If I could give them zero stars I absolutely would. Yesterday I decided that I no longer wanted to rent a unit from Public Storage due to their ridiculous costs and increases. I did however secure a unit with another company that has larger units for a fraction of the costs. I notified the facility (spoke with Trinity) that I'd be vacating the unit and they advised that I would have to vacate by 12/31 in order to not incur the monthly rent for the month of January. Cool no problem since I already paid for another unit elsewhere . I was then advised that the elevator is out of service and the anticipated date of repair is after the new year. This is where the problem began, my unit is on the second floor so elevator access is absolutely necessary. The only thing that was offered was stairwell access during office hours which is another problem because I'm paying to access my unit during gate hours. I advised Trinity that this is now an ADA issue which can turn into a legal matter. I asked her what reasonable accommodations could be offered since the elevator was out and she asked me was I "handicap"and told me absolutely nothing else could be done to accommodate me and then intentionally disconnected the call. Also their practice of collecting a full months rent if you move out after the last day of the month and having the ability to rent that unit out immediately after you vacate and collect another full months rent (rent from you and the new tenant) is absolutely illegal. I'm going to fight to the end to make sure these illegal practices are put to an end and that their employees receive additional training in customer service. Update: I received a call back from the district manager and the matter was resolved to my satisfaction. read more

Bait and Switch? I found them online, called, looked like a good place and a great price. Talked to a manager who told me that the price $1 first month, then 76 up to the 6th month would go up after 6. Asked him how much, he said "It's up to corporate, I don't know". Strange answer, so he gave me the corporate offices which I called to find out the following: when asked how much, as a "ballpark" figure the rate would go up, a very snippy sarcastic customer (dis)service rep said haughtily: "From $5 to $1000!" I said, thanks, you just lost a perspective customer. Then I looked thru the yelp reviews and decided to go elsewhere. What a horror show. For shame, for shame. read more

If you'd like your rate to increase by 32% (from $259 to $341) after you've had your space for 4 months while the highest advertised rate online is still only $280 for a unit the same size, then rent here! On the other hand, if you think that's a terrible customer experience then consider renting a storage space elsewhere. read more

The space is acceptable, but the customer service is terrible. They do not charge prorated rent. I ended my contract on the 2nd but was charged for the entire month even though they will be able to have it filled by another tenant on the 2nd. Scummy business practices and poor customer service is not a good combination. I'd look elsewhere for your storage needs if at all possible. read more

This place will increase the their rates without notice. We originally rented a 5' x 10' unit at $90/month in 2013. Our last monthly bill was $247. They simply rely on the "inconvenience of moving factor' as a means of retaining their clients. This place is owned and operated by Public Storage Ltd, a nationwide corporation. read more

I will never ever use Public Storage again. The place is okay and I have no complaints about the security situation. The thing is they have never told me that the rent is charged on the first day of each month, I know it's written on the contract, but I believe most people would just skim through. I moved out yesterday morning, September 1st, and they asked me to pay for the whole month. What an unreasonable request! As the other comment below is saying, they will rent my space to other customers for the whole September. Also, the customer service sucks. You cannot find anyone to help with because the online system is down (for a year?) and dummy AI on the phone call cannot recognize my account number and phone number. If you drive to the storage place and you will only be allowed to stand outside of the office, and they ended up cannot help you without the permission from their boss. You will not be able to solve the problem because their boss is secure without hearing any complaints with the crap online system and phone call (I suspect they deliberately turn down the complain channel.) This is the worst decision I have made, don't repeat my mistake. read more

Horrible experience. DO NOT RENT A SPACE HERE!!!! Elevator is extremely difficult to use and aggravating, especially when you're trying to push a cart full of items into it, but its timed for all of 10 seconds and starts closing almost the second you punch in your code. There are homeless people who run into the elevator when you're not expecting it and run rampant throughout the facility. I think they maybe be sleeping in there and breaking into units. It made me very uncomfortable. Moreover, the times this place is open is literally such a tiny window you have to access your things. The elevators power down at 5PM and you can't get in after that, even if you're in the elevator at 5PM exactly. Its horrible and upsetting to show up to access your stuff only to be turned away multiple times. I feel like they're holding my stuff hostage. I should have access to my belongings that I'm PAYING you for, when I need to access my belongings. I moved in in August 2020 during the Pandemic, and in 6 months they raised my rent, and when I wrote corporate they essentially said "too bad" and rudely followed that up with " we are still decently priced compared to our competitors""... Ontop of it all I've been hit with Late fees and 25$ chargeback fees, and the boy operating the phone Miguel is extremely rude, and told me he'd get my fees waived if I paid the balance posted to my account, then hung up in my face and never waived the fee. Please run if you value peace of mind, accessibility, reliability, security and a trust worthy place to store your stuff. read more

Not much to review. Standard storage BS. Get a decent rate, it goes up every 6 months to a point where you're eventually paying 3 times what you started up at. They're all like that as far as I know. This one I went in at I believe $220 a month. A few years later, it's $687! Aside from that, the hours at this particular location border on ridiculous. Make sure you won't have to go in after 5pm or possibly earlier as they keep making the entry times shorter and shorter. This location is near lots of homeless living in tents and RVs. One day there was a fire caused from the homeless encampment right behind one of our units. PS asked us to check our contents for smoke damage. Not their fault, but just stating a fact. read more

This is hands down one the best Storage facilities I have used. The units are well kept, security is top notch, customer service is on point. I initially choose this location as a short term storage fix for my stuff and later decided to stay long term due to Megan, the on-site Manager. She is clear, concise, professional and has a friendly demeanor. Parking and loading is easy and very accessible. The hours of operation are great. When I called to find out how much storage would cost and what was available, the customer service person insisted, mind you, INSISTED that I make an appointment to talk to someone at the facility. So I did. I then got a call the very next day asking me when I wanted to move into my reserved unit. Turns out the "appointment" to "talk about" prices and availability was a hard sell to pressure me into renting a space by reserving a unit as if I had already agreed to use their space. A second call to a different customer rep complain and see if I couldn't get an actual quote WITHOUT reserving a unit resulted in me hanging up on them, because they were giving me the same run around. read more

Whatever you do, don't move in here. I'm moving out after storing here for 7 years. I kept swearing I would move out for a while & I beg you not to make the mistake of dealing with this Public Storage. The access hours have shrunk to the point where accessing the unit is incredibly difficult while my storage unit has tripled in price & the quality of service has declined. Also, the permanent homeless camps that weren't on the property when I moved in are a threat to the facility now. I volunteer for the homeless; I have compassion for them. But the camps are dangerous & start fires. I have seen homeless in the camps on this property using open flames. It's just a matter of time until a fire of at least some size destroys someone's unit & the contents inside. Do you value your goods? You're playing roulette with your items vanishing in fire at this storage facility. It's only a matter of time. It's also incredibly difficult to get access to the elevator that leads to most of the units. It's timed impossibly and becomes insanely aggravating to use this place at even the best times. And if someone else on another floor is being selfish & trying to run a whole house in a single load, which happens a lot, you will be unable to access your unit for hours during their now microscopic operating hours. Drive up to Richmond & get a better unit at a much lower price. You'll be glad you did read more

The only elevator of the facility has been broken for 6 months right after I rented a space. The staffs there kept telling me it will get fixed next months but still its not working. My storage space is on the 3rd floor. I only got a month of "credit" for future use, not refund. I will never use Public Storage in my life again. read more

I have never written a YELP review prior to this one but I am angry about this company's deceptive practice. My storage unit has gone up in price over $100/month in 18 months. When I called, I was told that their policy is to raise it to be equivalent to market value of the unit every 6 months. The person I spoke to acknowledged that they don't tell customers about this practice and are not required to do so. Once you move your things into a storage unit it is costly and time-consuming to move it out so most customers end up being stuck with their excessive price increases. read more
