This company at the corporate level engages in bait and switch pricing. They get you to sign up and move in with one rate, and then the prices skyrocket at month 4. They call it a "market adjustment." However...its not. There is no way the market almost doubles in 4 months. For example my rate went from $109 in May to $179 (starting in September). Plus, upon reading other reviews, it seems to be a pretty consistent pattern that they engage in. I would NOT move in here unless you are planning on storing items for less than three months. If you are going to school here and need it for the entire school year, pick a unit size and price that you can afford after it doubles! read more

I picked the wrong place! If you're on the upper level like I am and the elevator goes out there's no way to do anything. I've been there less than 6 months and already got an increase from $74 to $112? As it is the place opens at 7 am and closes at 6 pm? No parking. Was helping my sister with getting some things from her storage unit today. She had lost her key so needed help cutting the lock and getting a new lock put on. Tavio and Jared were so helpful, professional, and kind. Have never been to a storage place where people were genuinely happy to help their customers. I had a really positive experience at this storage facility. From the moment I walked in, the customer service was great. Everything was explained clearly, and the whole process was simple and stress-free. Jared was the one who helped me, and he did an awesome job. I have been renting a storage unit in this building for many years - since the '90's, and the ownership changed a couple of times over that period. I always appreciated the service, and enjoyed having a nice space for my things. Things changed when the current ownership took over, because it is a chain, and you get the kind of service that goes with that. But, I didn't expect that my storage unit would be flooded. I don't know exactly when it happened, or why, and the management is not interested in figuring it out. I am now going through the boxes that were soaked and salvaging what I can. I told Alex about this, and he suggested that I use plastic bins on the bottom layer. I am doing that. But why wouldn't the management be interested in finding out what happened and keep it from happening again? It's supposed to be a storage place - a safe place to store stuff that you want to keep. read more

I went by what their ads say thinking they are open 24 hours. I rushed down there to find out that on weekdays they are open 9 to 6 and it is the weekends they have 24 hours. This doesn't reflect their advertising and is quite annoying to have wasted my time but I thought, at least let me check them out. I drove around looking for an entrance to the building, to my surprise, there is NOT one. What? I finally found a space on the street next to them. I asked for the manager and he seemed like I was wasting his time or something. He i the one who told me they are not open 24 hours. He showed me the one downstairs unit they had. It looked clean. The price was ok. Then he tells me they don't have a building entrance and you have to bring your stuff in on the side. You can't drive your car up even though the signs outside say not to park in that area , for customers. My car was almost a block and a half away, can you imagine if this was a large moving truck, can you say pain!!!!! The lack of enthusiasm or effort to make this more appealing to me (the manager seemed like he had better things to do even though there was no one else around) and the not being able to load my stuff right there on the lower level just didn't sit well with me so I didn't take it. If you are fine with no where to park and the hours not being what their advertising is, then go for it but if not, I say look elsewhere. read more

Remember that time I gave my storage unit a five star review gushing that it was reasonably priced and such. Jump to one month later when I receive a letter in the mail letting me know that my unit is going up $100ish/month back to the price it was before. 1) I'm confused. That's a huge jump. 2) And sigh, now at the $200+ish price point, this place is no longer worthy of the 5 stars. It's a fine space to put stuff in, but it's dark, and there are no garbage cans, there is no package acceptance, the front desk is usually closed, and yada yada yada. Overall, still convenient for me, and it's a storage unit, but no longer full of value. read more

I was so happy to find a unit in this facility for only $75/month. Unfortunately, the bait and switch is alive and well here. They nearly doubled my rent to $135/month after just four months. I can't imagine they weren't already making a tidy profit with the number of units in this building. At this point, I'm just waiting for them to double my rent again. I suspect they'll do it through the holidays when most people are too busy to clear out a storage unit. Aside from the shady rent increases, this facility has some other cons: - limited hours - quite dark - hand carts are nice, but I have had trouble getting them - somewhat labyrinthine hallways. I have to enter my code multiple times and go through at least three different doors. Harder when you're carrying a bunch of stuff you don't own your own hand carts - limited street parking around the facility If you can swallow those pills, SecureSpace does have storage units in a convenient location at a competitive price. I just can't say the price seems fair, and you should expect your rent to increase substantially with 30 days notice. read more

I've stored some things here for two years. Great service, clean and convenient. With this said they raised my space rental 50% over this past year for a 5x7..... by 70 dollars. Although I understand the economy is tight right now for businesses I'm still terribly disappointed in their pricing. Stay away from this company, within four months they doubled my rent. I called to see if there was some mistake and they said that this was normal practice for them. This is the most egregious and anti-consumer behavior that I've ever seen from any company. Their business model seems to be to lure you in and then massively increase the rent when they think that you won't want to leave. read more
