This place was next door to the Alton Inn we were staying at, and due to the convienence we dropped in the first night. First, the decor is somewhat of a modern chic, very clean, and cozy. The food was delicious - he had the Chicken Caesar Salad which he raved about, and I had the Ahi Tuna which was the perfect portion, great dressing, and the Tuna was perfect. We liked it SO much we came back the following night! He liked his dish so much, he ordered the exact same thing! I had the prime rib melt (with salad instead of fries). I will say - ordering the side salad was a great idea - the roasted chickpeas really made it more than just a side salad and the meals were both outstanding. We are out of towners and we were told this place is a must stop. We were not disappointed. We sat at the bar, service was exceptional and quick. We appreciated that so much because we have been to a fancy restaurant called Pine in Hanover on Christmas Eve and the service was despicable. here, it was a lot cheaper and we felt very appreciated. I had the crabcakes special with rice and vegetables and the butternut squash soup to start and it was all really really delicious! My daughter had the pesto pasta which she liked and my son-in-law had the very consistent weiner schnitzel . The ambience was perfect for a family night out and we appreciated it because we had a baby with us, but we came at 5 PM and we were surrounded by other families so we felt very comfortable. Needless to say, we left a very good tip because the waitress deserved it. I don't know her name, but she was young and very sweet. The worst food I've ever had! My husband and I went out for dinner for our first anniversary tonight. When you walk in it was very unwelcoming. We were shown to our table, never told with a special were. Well I know that it's measured before cook weight but man this steak must've lost some serious amount of weight when I cooked it because it was maybe 8 ounces. His two had to get sent back it was raw when he asked for a medium. I think it was the owner that came back out with his food and asked how it was and he said it was fine now but still a little pink for my liking. That man said oh it was because of where you cut into the meat it never gets cooked as much there as it does in the middle. However the metal was even more undone. We asked for a bigger table and it seemed as though it was an inconvenience. We finally got a bigger table. We were not told they do not serve part of their menu until after 4pm and it's not on the menu either. When we finally were ready to order, we were told my son couldn't have steak because it was too early and they don't serve that until after 4pm. So I feel like the overall wait service and food deserves 3 stars but the way they were able to get me in with no reservation on one of the busiest Saturdays in that ski area, made me boost it to 4. If 3 1/2 were possible, that's would I'd give. My husband and I each had a burger. It was a good size and cooked perfectly. The meat just lacked flavor. It tasted good but just was a bit bland and the meat consistency was a bit off. You can upcharge for sweet potato fries or a side salad. The sweet potato fries were really good. The side salad was better than anticipated too. Spring mix with tomato, cucumber and toasted chickpeas. My son had an order of hot wings. They were avg size and the flavor was good. I prefer crispy wings and these would've needed a bit more cooking for my taste, so I ate one and just pulled the skin off. I understand that's a preference thing.
