After 3 1/2 weeks, my nails have grown out but the dip is still flawless.
    Carla K.

When I first started coming to PT Nails a few years ago, I had very weak nails that would tear and break before they had a chance to grow. I did gel manicures a few times, but the gel would begin cracking and chipping after just a few days. Then Tina recommended I try powder dip. The durability is incredible! I do a lot of work with my hands and my nails hardly ever show the wear. My manicure now lasts 3-4 weeks, so while dip more expensive than a gel manicure, it's worth it to me for the extra time it lasts. Plus, there are lots of beautiful colors (solid and glitter) to choose from. The staff is always very friendly. The hours are also super convenient, so it's easy to go after work, but they do get busy as the weekend gets closer. I try to go at off-peak times -- Monday-Tuesday afternoons or early Saturday mornings -- because I always have great experiences and the overall results are better when they're able to take their time and not rush.

    Well done!

This is a nice little nail salon on the south side; overall, I was pleased with my experience. I came in needing a gel manicure. I did not call ahead; I walked in in the afternoon. I was very happy with the wide variety of color options available; some of the colors were unique and ones I have not seen other places! The gel polish is typically known to last 2 weeks, but mine lasted 3 and still was not chipped or peeling! Needless to say, I was very pleased with this and felt as though I got my money's worth. Giving a 4 instead of 5 is for two reasons: 1. I felt a little rushed. - The woman who did my manicure had a scheduled appointment after me, and I felt like she was hurrying to get me done in time. Although this did not compromise the quality of her work, I did not feel super relaxed or "at ease" during my time. 2. After leaving, I had to use my own nail file to smooth the edges of some of my nails. Some were very sharp when I left, as I think the file that was used on my nails was a little too "gritty". Again, overall, I am pleased with my experience at PT Nails. The staff was friendly and efficient. My manicure lasted longer than I thought it would, so I was definitely happy about that! :)

hate to write a rewrite on this place because tina is really really nice but her husband gets really angry and doesn't seem to do nails right ... i left with tina trying to reassure me not to be angry with my nails but i was livid paying $70 so i tried to fix them with some paint and a shape them down my thumbs are huge but all the other nails are some what decent but its poor customer service and i believe they have lost customers

I decided to try this place out with my mom since it's right by our house and they did a fantastic job! It's not perfect but I'm still very happy with how they turned out. The employees are also very nice especially Tina :)

This review is so hard to give bc Tina is so so so sweet...however... I've gone here a handful of times since they opened about 7 yrs ago. They are always SO FRIENDLY and do a fantastic job...Tina always remembers my name...one time, I brought my 2 yr old daughter, who was being bratty, and they were so great with her.....but, if you get stuck with the older guy, who I'm pretty sure is Tina's husband...bad things happen. The first time I had him he didn't do at all what I asked (short and round). The 2nd time I was with him, I showed him a pic and asked if he could do it, he said yes...and that wasn't the case . It didn't look at all like the picture. I mean just be honest and tell me you can't do it, dude! And today, I had him, and this incident is why I'm writing this review. He is so incredibly rough with that nail file and drill, that he made 2 of my fingers bleed. He apologized profusely; I told him it was okay blah blah blah...but then when he put all the polish and acrylic on, it burnt the places he cut me SO BADLY that I was in tears. And to top it all off, when I was ready to pay, they informed me they do not take American Express (their fees are high, I get it...it was just inconvenient). So, I had to go to an atm and come back. As I said earlier, the ladies that work here are so sweet and do a terrific job; the place is clean; they have lots of gel colors to choose from...but if you get stuck with the older guy...well...I'll pray for your poor little fingers.

Arrived here right before it started to get crazy so they were definitely rushing. I got dip power and no other amenities...all she did was file my nails and ended up cutting me with the mechanical nail file. She kept telling me that my nails were too short and that's why the color is stuck to my skin. However, I believe if she took her time with the base and didn't paint it onto my skin, it wouldn't have stuck. It's very chunky feeling on my nail and the coats are very uneven. She didn't even go all the way to the back of my nail and you can see my natural nail poking out from the nail polish. I won't be coming back here...

I love this nail salon! I drive 15 minutes just to come to this salon instead of the 10 others that are right by my house. I always do gel. I do a gel manicure then in 2.5 weeks I get a gel color change. They do wonderful work. They'll do any shake you want! They also have a million gel colors. I love that! I love getting pedicures during the summer but I normally stop when fall and winter roll around. My only tip is to make sure the colors match before they paint your nails. I have made that mistake too many times. Try them out!

    Gel polish after one week...

I'm on the fence with this one... Overall - it was okay. Not bad, and not awesome. I went in for gel (color only) and was in and out in about 20 minutes. My nail tech was nice & very chatty. She did a good job filing/ shaping my nails. They had a ton of gel colors to choose from - but unfortunately the polish came out kind of dry & streaky so she had to do a layer of shimmer over them when she was done. I'm not a shimmer person, but it wasn't too obnoxious. My real issue with the whole thing was that my entire nail wasn't coated when I looked at them later on, she left lines between my side cuticles & the polish. Now I've had the gel on for exactly one week and it looks kind of bad in my opinion. (Compared to previous experiences with gel polish.) -- I think I would be up for trying this place again, if I had to. Otherwise, I'll drive a little further next time to OG or Wondernails.

Was looking for a place near my house to get my nails done and read great reviews about this place. They were totally right. Wonderful friendly staff who actually do talk to you and want to make conversation. I had Cindy give me a French pedicure and she did a wonderful job. Cost was $30 which seems completely reasonable. I was offered a salt scrub (which I think would have been an additional cost) that I didn't take. Great experience and will definitely be going back for my next mani or pedi!

They were able to take appointments for quite a way out, as well as booking appointments for soonish; I booked a pedicure with Tim right before my trip abroad, giving myself maximum time to grow out the ingrowns the last place gave me. Big place, with lots of stations and lots of professionals. Clean, light and airy. The massage chair pedicure stations faced a large flatscreen tv showing the Olympic Games. Nice! Tim didn't give me much time to soak, but was very careful not to cut my nails too short, and not to file them too much in the corners. My podiatrist would approve. Didn't take off enough callus on the ends of my pinkie toes, but that's a hard area to reach. Massage of the feet and calves with lotion was relatively brief, but used a nice lotion that didn't reek of artificial scent, like the last place. Did a beautiful job painting my nails. Fast, efficient, professional, and no pain. I was happy. Afterward, relaxed by the good experience, I asked about a manicure, and ended up seeing Tim's colleague Linh, who was awesome. She told me about gel builder, to armor my weak and brittle nails without damaging them, and I signed up. We left my short nails the color the gel builder comes in -- a nice, natural pink. Maybe now I'll actually be able to grow them out past my fingertips, without them snagging and tearing! I love how strong and smooth they are now, which is helpful in making jewelry! I booked a follow up for a month from now. I look forward to trying out more of their services!

It took close to an hour and 45mins for a service that usually takes 45-50mins max. The person servicing my mom was extremely slow to do her nails because she didn't know what she was doing and this was even confirmed by the owner. Because it took so long, no massage or lotion was included like other customers. The owner and another staff member coming to work in pajamas with extra long acrylic eagle talons for nails was definitely a red flag & I should of seen this coming. The owner was forcing my mom to basically pay $100 for a very sloppy, lumpy & time-consuming manicure. After some time of arguing, she decided to lower it to $75 (still an overcharge) because of miscommunication, and didn't even apologize. The owner was extremely reluctant to see the problem from another person's point of view & stood firm on her pricing with a sense of entitlement. Apparently, she's very proud of the mediocre work that comes out of her shop & demands full payment, even if that means ripping off customers. And never once were we expecting a free or discounted service. We just wanted to pay what was fair for the low-quality that was given. I found them to be very unprofessional, unreasonable, hostile and overall a huge lack of customer service skills. Continuously talking over people in a louder voice doesn't make your claim any stronger or correct. Instead of turning a negative to positive experience to create a repeat customer, the owner opted to give major attitude to a senior customer with broken English, knowing there was a lack of communication on your businesses behalf and that was disappointing. Very ghetto, to say the least. If you're going to charge premium pricing, a premium service needs to follow. No one in their right mind can look at these sad nails & genuinely feel they got their money's worth.

However, price-wise is what will stop me from returning. I do a basic dip manicure (with soak off) every 4-ish weeks. I wasn't going to have time to get to my salon so I stopped in here. (Again, they did a great job so I'm glad I did!) The board said $55, I typically pay $50, no big deal. However, they charged $15 for the soak off, $12 to choose nail polish color (it was $8 for no color) and $10 to shape the nails (just filing them down because they'd grown so long). So $92 before tip. For exactly what every other salon provides in the manicure price. I was just wondering what the $55 covered if not filing and painting the nails? (Cutting the cuticles and adding oil? lol) Again, excellent service but nearly double what I've paid at all other salons. Just check the "add on" prices before you commit to a service.
