Me and my mom have gone to this place sporadically over the years and have settled here the last year. Overall we have had great experiences and have been pretty happy with our nails. My tech is Lisa. She is newer and doesn't do nail designs. But overall she does well and I haven't had an issue. My mom has Sadie who does very well and have had no real issues and complaints with her work. So then why the three stars? They never seem to stick with the pricing. For instance, nail designs are $5 a hand. A flat fee. So it should equal roughly $10. But we got charged $15. The owner also is known to schedule appointments on top of each other with the same nail tech. There seems to be a lot of issues and miscommunication unfortunately. read more

When I first started coming to PT Nails a few years ago, I had very weak nails that would tear and break before they had a chance to grow. I did gel manicures a few times, but the gel would begin cracking and chipping after just a few days. Then Tina recommended I try powder dip. The durability is incredible! I do a lot of work with my hands and my nails hardly ever show the wear. My manicure now lasts 3-4 weeks, so while dip more expensive than a gel manicure, it's worth it to me for the extra time it lasts. Plus, there are lots of beautiful colors (solid and glitter) to choose from. The staff is always very friendly. The hours are also super convenient, so it's easy to go after work, but they do get busy as the weekend gets closer. I try to go at off-peak times -- Monday-Tuesday afternoons or early Saturday mornings -- because I always have great experiences and the overall results are better when they're able to take their time and not rush. read more

I called and had an appointment for gel pedicure scheduled for 5 pm. When I came in, I was told they were running 15 min behind. At 5:15, I was seated in the chair and they turned the massage on for me. No water to soak in or anything. Finally at 5:44 the mail tech came to start. They were apologizing for making me wait. I don't mind waiting but don't tell me 15 min and then go START a manicure on someone else. I did feel like my pedicure was very rushed. I was in my car by 6:15 The place doesn't feel the cleanest. They don't put plastic bags in the tubs and I honestly don't think they wiped it down after the lady before me. They have nail polish sitting on the floor in the back corner, not on the wall or on a table. The nail grinder used to remove my old gel was literally just on the floor by the outlet. There is a sink in the back where the cuticle cutters/nail clippers are. They don't look like they sanitize them, just wash them in the sink. The nail tech did wear gloves. And her foot massage was very good. Nails came out looking normal. It was $45 and they didn't charge me the extra $5 for gel removal because I did wait which was appreciated. This is a nice little nail salon on the south side; overall, I was pleased with my experience. I came in needing a gel manicure. I did not call ahead; I walked in in the afternoon. I was very happy with the wide variety of color options available; some of the colors were unique and ones I have not seen other places! The gel polish is typically known to last 2 weeks, but mine lasted 3 and still was not chipped or peeling! Needless to say, I was very pleased with this and felt as though I got my money's worth. Giving a 4 instead of 5 is for two reasons: 1. I felt a little rushed. - The woman who did my manicure had a scheduled appointment after me, and I felt like she was hurrying to get me done in time. Although this did not compromise the quality of her work, I did not feel super relaxed or "at ease" during my time. 2. After leaving, I had to use my own nail file to smooth the edges of some of my nails. Some were very sharp when I left, as I think the file that was used on my nails was a little too "gritty". Again, overall, I am pleased with my experience at PT Nails. The staff was friendly and efficient. This review is so hard to give bc Tina is so so so sweet...however... I've gone here a handful of times since they opened about 7 yrs ago. They are always SO FRIENDLY and do a fantastic job...Tina always remembers my name...one time, I brought my 2 yr old daughter, who was being bratty, and they were so great with her.....but, if you get stuck with the older guy, who I'm pretty sure is Tina's husband...bad things happen. The first time I had him he didn't do at all what I asked (short and round). The 2nd time I was with him, I showed him a pic and asked if he could do it, he said yes...and that wasn't the case . It didn't look at all like the picture. I mean just be honest and tell me you can't do it, dude! And today, I had him, and this incident is why I'm writing this review. He is so incredibly rough with that nail file and drill, that he made 2 of my fingers bleed. He apologized profusely; I told him it was okay blah blah blah...but then when he put all the polish and acrylic on, it burnt the places he cut me SO BADLY that I was in tears. And to top it all off, when I was ready to pay, they informed me they do not take American Express (their fees are high, I get it...it was just inconvenient). So, I had to go to an atm and come back. As I said earlier, the ladies that work here are so sweet and do a terrific job; the place is clean; they have lots of gel colors to choose from...but if you get stuck with the older guy...well...I'll pray for your poor little fingers. read more

Arrived here right before it started to get crazy so they were definitely rushing. I got dip power and no other amenities...all she did was file my nails and ended up cutting me with the mechanical nail file. She kept telling me that my nails were too short and that's why the color is stuck to my skin. However, I believe if she took her time with the base and didn't paint it onto my skin, it wouldn't have stuck. It's very chunky feeling on my nail and the coats are very uneven. I love this nail salon! I drive 15 minutes just to come to this salon instead of the 10 others that are right by my house. I always do gel. I do a gel manicure then in 2.5 weeks I get a gel color change. They do wonderful work. They'll do any shake you want! They also have a million gel colors. I love that! I love getting pedicures during the summer but I normally stop when fall and winter roll around. My only tip is to make sure the colors match before they paint your nails. I have made that mistake too many times. Try them out! read more

I'm on the fence with this one... Overall - it was okay. Not bad, and not awesome. I went in for gel (color only) and was in and out in about 20 minutes. My nail tech was nice & very chatty. She did a good job filing/ shaping my nails. They had a ton of gel colors to choose from - but unfortunately the polish came out kind of dry & streaky so she had to do a layer of shimmer over them when she was done. I'm not a shimmer person, but it wasn't too obnoxious. My real issue with the whole thing was that my entire nail wasn't coated when I looked at them later on, she left lines between my side cuticles & the polish. Now I've had the gel on for exactly one week and it looks kind of bad in my opinion. (Compared to previous experiences with gel polish.) -- I think I would be up for trying this place again, if I had to. I came in after making an appointment and when I got there I was told the complete opposite as to what they said on the phone. Once I sat down to get my nails done they made it very hard for me to make my own decision about my own nails. I would tell them one thing and they suggested another and although I would tell them I just wanted my nails the way I had said they proceeded to do them the way they wanted. Was looking for a place near my house to get my nails done and read great reviews about this place. They were totally right. Wonderful friendly staff who actually do talk to you and want to make conversation. I had Cindy give me a French pedicure and she did a wonderful job. Cost was $30 which seems completely reasonable. If I could give 4 1/2, I would! I came in with a photo of nails I would like and I was on a time crunch. They were all very polite and friendly and easy to communicate with. My nails didn't turn out exactly like the photo, but I'm still happy with the results. After MANY unhappy experiences at other salons on the southside, so far, I suppose this is my second favorite. Clean, tools were all switched with clean ones out of the autoclave. My cuticles were not butchered or cut. My gel nails would have been $30, but since they weren't just one color, it was $40, which is still cheaper than a lot of places around here. Would definitely recommend. I received a giftcard to this nail salon from my dad (aww). It took me awhile (like...a year) to get around to using it because it's not on my side of town, but today my mom and I went together for some pampering. I was happy that I could make an appointment a few hours in advance. It turned out to definitely be necessary--they were packed on a Saturday afternoon! I've gotten less than 5 manicures/pedicures/whatevers in my life, so I'm certainly no pro or connoisseur of nail salons. However, I can tell you that PT Nails: -Appeared to be clean -Had a respectable number of polish choices along with a wheel of little color samples painted on fake fingernails that you could hold up to your hands (is this standard? I'd never seen it before.) -Was reasonably priced (if I recall...$12 for a regular manicure, $25 for a gel manicure, etc.) -Had employees who were delightfully friendly. The stations for manicures are set up such that you can't really sit next to a friend while you're both having your nails done, so that was a little weird since I was with my mom. The pedicure stations, however, are all in a row. I opted for a gel French manicure, which turned out looking great. I always get a little weird when it comes to nail files and cuticle clipping, etc., but she did a great (and non-traumatizing) job. For a girl who typically doesn't get her nails done, this was a fun treat! read more

Staff and atmosphere was great. I tried dip for the first time and I wish she would've fixed up my cuticles before she started because now my cuticles are still bad. Dip sometimes doesn't cover all of the nail and I have a lot of glue still stuck to my fingers. Not sure if I will be going back unless that is changed. read more

I received a Gel fill in here. I wouldn't return to this nail salon though it was very clean and the staff friendly. The gel polish was not very shinny. My skin was also cut by the nail tech by a nail file. The gel polish was placed on a little lumpy not a smooth finish. Getting my nails done should be painless and a relaxing pampering session. There was also excess gel polish left around the cuticle bed. I went when it was close to closing about 40 mins to close. However that was no excuse for a rush job. I also think its Tacky to ask a client to pay before the job is done just because you are closing. Nice staff clean place but I wont return! read more

I am not one to post bad reviews somewhere, but this place is just awful. As soon as you walk In, a very strong chemical smell hits you. My mom was super rushed through her gel polish, it was done within 15 min? I have never seen someone be done with it so fast. The lady kept telling her how awful her nails were(she was visiting, and got her nails done back home). We paid, left & next thing you know, the next day the gel in 5 of her nails was completely GONE. We went back, she "fixed" them (in 5 min? Again, why so rushed all the time?). Next thing you know, the gel is off again in most of her nails. Not worth the money or even effort. There is other places near by that are so much better. We just happened to come across this one because we were next door eating breakfast. read more

I showed the lady and was given a nasty response " that's all you could find they're way to long," or something to the same effect. I told her that I liked them long... fast forward 25 minutes into my nails I picked an all blue color for all my nails and without them even asking they put glitter on my ring finger nail! When I told her that she completely ignored me and spoke to another employee while laughing! Not a fan of how long I wait when I come in. I am a high tipping customer that treats these workers well and have spent a lot of money at. I continuously come in for appointments I schedule, not to sit down until 1 hour later, they over book my appointments. The place is also very dirty, I've seen pedicure baths be reused without weeks of cleaning. The floor has never been mopped, the tech desks are FILTHY. I stopped taking my purse and coat in because the filthy chair floor and desks. Not only the cleanliness issue if resided tools for manicure and pedicures, but I've actually been lied to from the owner about appointments cost and time. It is very unprofessional. Aside from those issues another big issue I have is the overcharge in pedicures along with the overcharge for gel nails. I say this because the past 5 times I've had my nails done they have CHIPPED OFF IN A WEEK! I tip so much for this treatment? No. I won't be back and they will lose a high paying woman that always treated them with respects what I got back was poor broken nails (different shapes) only one worker was good there, or a HACk job on my toes, I don't appreciate it. There are plenty other ot locations. Make your time and money worth it and go elsewhere to a clean Salon with Techs that won't lie to your face or give you nails that break off within days of a full set. Completely unacceptable and I should be given my money back. I will not be back ever. It's a matter of time before the HEALTH ADMIN SHUTS PT NAILS DOWN. It's filthy and infections bound to occur! I'm new to town and I searched for a nail place for days! I read great reviews about this place on Google search. I went in for a new set on Saturday and got right in. Unfortunately, that's where the good stopped. The gentleman that proceeded to do my nails asked me FOUR times if I wanted gel. ... no. .. I did not. I told him each time that I didn't want gel color. .. and his attitude went to crap. He didn't speak to me from then on. He would only flick my hand when he wanted me to move. Every single one of fingers ended up raw. .. I'm not sure how no blood was involved. This was the most painful set of nails I've ever received! Then the painting sucked! It looked like a child painted my nails. .. I decided that no tip would be required when the little man decided to be completely rude and not treat me like a customer paying good money for the services I requested. ..something that this NAIL salon was supposed to be good at. Then, after he finished painting my nails. .. he told me to go to the dryer. ..I asked if he would mind grabbing my jacket and HE DRUG IT ACROSS THE FLOOR AS HE WALKED TO THE DRYING AREA. I ended up going to another salon 2 days later. .. they fixed the crap job and repainted. A million times better! !! I was so upset at the rude little man that I didn't even ask them to fix the messed up, crooked, uneven nails. I will never go back. I paid $40 for a acrylic gel nail (full set). This man comes in from outside and does my nails he's being very rough with my nails squeezing and twisting them. He filed them so hard it cut me. I asked for coffin and my nails are literally uneven not shaped well at all. To finish my nails it took 14 minutes. There was nail polish and glue all over. The polish was also lumpy. I showed her and she then tells me the glue is my black skin. Keep in mind as soon as I paid her husband left. This tells you he was in a rush. We left I called,I talked to his wife I think her names Tina she literally argued on the phone for five minutes telling me her husband is the best I'm just picky, he's done 10,000 nails and only I complain, she continues and says no matter where I go I'll complain. She says they only refund for a bad job. All I had said was I want to come in get them off and a refund. I will never return back to this salon. I got a manicure and pedicure and both combined took less than 30 minutes. The woman rushed through both processes and was extremely rude the entire time. She asked why I didn't want a gel manicure 4-5 times, after telling her I didn't like gel she proceeded to ask why I didn't want it. She then started going on about how I need my eyebrows waxed because they need reshaped, and then talked about how horrible my cuticles were. Next she asked for me to pay and noticed I was using a debit card. She proceeded to tell me next time I need to use a check or cash, I told her I don't have checks, and she told me I need to get cash out just to go see them. If you don't want people using credit or debit cards then maybe you should mention that, or have a sign on the door that says cash or check only. After spending more time drying my nails than actually having them painted one proceeded to chip as I opened my car door because the paint was on too thick. Horrible, horrible place. I've been here 2 times and out of those 2 times my nails have been messed up every time , my nails are always on crooked .. today I went there to get a manicure and a pedicure the pedicure went well but when it got to my manicure they started getting a little busy but barely and the lady who did my nails rushed them completed my nails are all different sizes and shapes I asked for kind of long nails but not too long like a medium length and all my nails are short and stubby I am very disappointed and will NEVER RETURN AGAIN definitely was not worth my 60$ ‍ read more

When there to get a mani/pedi for a wedding I was going to & it ended up being a nightmare. The guy cut my little toe nail so short that it was bleeding but he never said a word. I actually think he was filing my skin. It is still sore. He never put a clear coat down first, he went right into painting the tips & then when done put a clear coat. I have had a lot of pedicures & that one was awful!!!! Oh & I paid $5 extra because I wanted French tips on my toes. Then next was my manicure. I also did French on them so there was another extra $5. I had clear gel on my nails that I had to tell him was on there. I soaked my nails in ice cold water. He took a drill to my nails to I guess take it off. There was clear still on & his exact response was "don't worry". He then did the same thing to my nails as my toes. painted then clear. The whole thing cost me $50.00 with tip. I left & got out to the car & looked at them & there was polish in the ceases of my nails. I was so mad I went back in & spoke to the owner who said she needed to explain it to him. I was thinking "really" he didn't see it. When you go get a manicure you also get a massage of your arms & hands well he rub my arms twice & told me to go wash my hands. Oh I must also say he was a total jerk!!!!! That was on a Saturday & today is Monday & they have already started to peel. I will never ever return to that place again. I believe that they owe me $50.
