Needing a new place for a pedicure, after my last place savaged my poor toes, I took several recommendations for V Nail Lounge. They were able to take appointments for quite a way out, as well as booking appointments for soonish; I booked a pedicure with Tim right before my trip abroad, giving myself maximum time to grow out the ingrowns the last place gave me. Big place, with lots of stations and lots of professionals. Clean, light and airy. The massage chair pedicure stations faced a large flatscreen tv showing the Olympic Games. Nice! Tim didn't give me much time to soak, but was very careful not to cut my nails too short, and not to file them too much in the corners. My podiatrist would approve. Didn't take off enough callus on the ends of my pinkie toes, but that's a hard area to reach. Massage of the feet and calves with lotion was relatively brief, but used a nice lotion that didn't reek of artificial scent, like the last place. Did a beautiful job painting my nails. Fast, efficient, professional, and no pain. I was happy. Afterward, relaxed by the good experience, I asked about a manicure, and ended up seeing Tim's colleague Linh, who was awesome. She told me about gel builder, to armor my weak and brittle nails without damaging them, and I signed up. We left my short nails the color the gel builder comes in -- a nice, natural pink. Maybe now I'll actually be able to grow them out past my fingertips, without them snagging and tearing! I love how strong and smooth they are now, which is helpful in making jewelry! I booked a follow up for a month from now. I look forward to trying out more of their services! read more

I decided to stop by V Nail Lounge today for a pedicure. I did not have an appointment, as I didn't know I needed one. This location has quite a few nail techs working. I waited approximately 25 minutes to be taken back for a pedicure. I had the older lady with glasses for my pedicure. I know people have previously commented about how clean this place is, but I definitely didn't get that feeling. I didn't see the young guy with the tattoos clean the pedicure station he used after he was done. I saw an older lady with obvious lymphedema be seated at that pedicure chair. The tools used for pedicures just come in a gray plastic tray, not in a package from sterilization. They reuse nail files, loofa bars, and callus removers without cleaning, everything was put back into the drawer at the pedicure station. The pedicure I had from the older lady with the glasses has been the roughest pedicure I have ever had! I'm waiting to see if I get bruises on my legs from how rough she was! I'm not sure what everyone else sees in this place, but my experience was not great. I will never come back to this place, and would not recommend it to anyone! read more

In search of a good nail salon in south Indy, I found the V Nail Lounge on Yelp. They're closed on Sundays like many other nail places in the area, so I called on Monday to make an appointment. The salon was about to close yet the guy on the phone answered my call with great enthusiasm, was friendly and provided responses to all my questions without rushing me. After making an appointment on phone, I immediately received a confirmation text indicating who my appointment is with. As soon as I arrived, I was asked to check in and choose my color. Well oh well, they have PLENTY OF OPTIONS for dip. There is an entire wall dedicated to dip powder colors which really impressed me. I picked out a color, was assigned a station and was quickly attended to. The color I'd picked out looked different on the actual powder, which the nail tech noticed before starting my service, and asked if I wanted to make a change. I really appreciated her noticing and checking with me. I saw Ivy for my appointment, but I could tell that other nail techs are also pretty experienced. Ivy was quick yet meticulous in her work. The prices for dip are similar to other nail salons in the area but it looked like their acrylic services and pedicures are slightly pricier than other places. I will admit that the salon was clean and very tidy, and that's the cost we need to pay for higher quality service in a clean environment, I don't mind paying a little bit extra. I would have knocked off a star because they don't have an online booking system, but I've realized over time that it's better for nail salons to run on phone appointments as the time for enhancements could make the service longer which self booking may not capture accurately. Also the front desk lady who checked me out was very pleasant. I'm excited to go back and try their pedicure. read more

Had a lovely Saturday afternoon experience here. I'm not one to get pedicures often but this one felt especially relaxing and comfortable. My biggest complaint with pedicures is the pain that comes from hack job cutting of the nails, bleeding, etc. the gentleman who gave me my pedicure was very gentle and gave a great foot massage. Upon entering, we were quickly greeted and selected our nail polishes. The wait was about ten minutes which was fairly short given how busy they were. The basic pedicure kicks off with a foot soak followed by a scrub, short massage, nail trimming/maintenance and painting/drying. I appreciated the offer of water/soda and all in all the experience took about 45 relaxing minutes. The basic (non gel) pedicure will run you $32 before tip. Very disappointed in the poor quality service I received from one of the technicians, and even more disappointed with the follow-up response when I called to have it corrected. Have now been multiple times, Randy was terrific and while his attitude wasn't friendly, Leon did a pretty decent job too. But now I've been so the same young girl - only one available - twice and was sloppy both times. Got a dip manicure last Friday, 3/19. On Sunday - just 2 days later - the top coat on almost all the nails had started to flake off. And the left ring fiber nail had chipped, so had to cut it to prevent catching the jagged edge on everything, I called Monday and asked to speak with a manager; she wasn't available so she asked if she could help. I explained the situation - not only was she not apologetic AT ALL but was acting like it was inconvenient to find a time for me to come in. We finally landed on Weds at 1pm - I had to reschedule a mtg on my end - and was assigned to see Leon. When I got there he had no idea re: the situation, and was clearly annoyed he'd been assigned to fix it. He proceeded to give me a lecture about how his time is not hers and if he were to redo my nails he'd have to charge me. I said I didn't care what needed to be done, just wanted it fixed. I reminded him that not only was this not at all my fault, but had to drive 25 min each way and take time out of my workday to come get fixed. He didn't care and acted annoyed the whole time. Also said it's my responsibility to request the right technicians, and to request "the original people." I said they should only high high quality people working for them. Just a horrible experience all around. They should've apologized for the poor quality manicure as well as my having to waste time to come get fixed, been very accommodating re: schedule to get it resolved, and communicated the situation to Leon (or whoever was going to fix) ahead of time, and not made the customer feel guilty for asking to get a 2-day old dip manicure fixed. read more

This is easily the best manicure/full set I've ever gotten. The gentleman that did it was thorough, precise and dedicated to making these claws look flawless. I got the gel full set and a gel pedicure. Nothing crazy, just 1 color for each. I am now three weeks out from getting them done and I can't believe my acrylics haven't lifted like they typically do. I came in at about 2 on a Friday and was able to get a 2:30 appointment, so it might be a good idea to call ahead if you're in a hurry. Love this nail lounge!! It is different from other nail places in the area. It is more of a relaxing spa than just a regular old nail shop. Great ambience. Enough parking space. This place is pretty clean and comfortable. This place is also pretty packed, so getting nails done without an appointment may not work out. Today, my experience was awesome. We had an appointment and were taken promptly on time. Leon did my protein dip manicure and spa regular pedicure. My mil had regular pedi / mani done by another gentleman. She had a great experience as well. Leon was courteous and lightening fast. He helped pick the color for toes and for the nail art suggested we add the white french manicure tip to create a contrast. Breakdown: Me: Protein dip fingers: $40 Spa pedicure: $32 Design on third fingers: $7 Mil: Regular pedicure/ manicure: $48 + tip. Pricey, but Leon said protein dip nails would last about 4 weeks. Today was my first time here! I made an appointment earlier in the week for my sister and I to have gel manis and my 3.5 year old niece to have her nails polished. My first suggestion is make an appointment! It was very busy and if we had just walked in I don't think we would have had time to wait (the wait was about 1.5 hours). We were taken back a little after our scheduled appointments but were given priority over walk ins. One of my favorite things was the selection of polish colors, there is seriously something for everyone! My nails look great and the appointment was quick but I didn't feel rushed. Woo!! Finally found a nail salon on the south side that meets the high bar set by Carmel's Mi Nails. I'm by no means a regular salon-goer but, like anyone, I do like to treat myself here and there. I was spoiled with my first gel experience at Mi Nails b/c it just happened to be by my work at the time, and they did a fabulous job. I thought maybe that's just the great effect of gel. Skip ahead a few months when I no longer work up north and decided to try some place (a few different places, actually!) closer to the southside. I quickly realized that gel mani's are NOT one size fits all! The difference was profound. I decided I was no longer going to waste my money on "average" nails when I can do average myself. But after reading all these great Yelp reviews about V Nail Lounge, I figured it was definitely worth one more splurge, for research purposes, of course. ;) So glad I did!! Walking in, the first thing I noticed was how GLAMOROUS the place felt. I felt like I was in an Elle magazine, with chic patterned curtains, chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, beautiful wall decor and marble-looking countertops. It definitely felt like the place you'd want to spend pampering yourself. It felt upscale, but without the ridiculous prices. PRICE: Very reasonable and I think average. I paid $32 for my gorgeous gel manicure. If you wanted a gel mani-pedi the price was $60. STAFF/SERVICE: I came in on an early Friday afternoon when most people would probably still be at work unless starting the weekend early. I walked in and, sure enough, poppin'! THAT SAID, it wasn't overwhelmingly busy by any means. I did NOT have an appointment, so I signed in, used the restroom, chose my polish color and waited 10 mins TOPS. I honestly thought I'd wait much longer, b/c others were also waiting, but they had a surprisingly strong staff presence and a lot of people there working to help out. A lot of times salons have the same person working with one person who then pops over and helps get someone else started at the same time, but not here. Ivy was the lady helping me, and she focused just on me, which was nice. Ivy was soooo cute and sweet!! She was funny and engaging, but not overly chatty to being kind of exhausting. She was careful and meticulous in her work, but yet also really fast, in a way that showed she was very well-practiced. She literally did a perfect job! I actually ran back inside after I left to catch her name, because I do plan to ask for her again. (Though other reviewers say it doesn't matter who you get?!) From the moment I entered to the moment I walked out, the entire stay was approximately 40 mins. CLEANLINESS: Like I said, I used the restroom upon entering and, to me, that's a big reflection of an establishment's cleanliness. The bathroom here was not only clean to the max, but equally beautiful and well-decorated as the rest of the salon! This level of care was evident across the board. COLOR SELECTION: Huge selection of colors and shades, and extremely well-organized. I didn't have to guess which ones were gel and which weren't, b/c there are signs clearly identifying each. I also really liked that some of the shades on the acrylic nail were on a stick, so that you can put it right up on your nail bed and see exactly what it'd look like on your hand, rather than imagining. LOCATION: So easy to find, located in a strip mall right off US-31 and very visible. Parking is a non-issue, as it has a huge parking lot. Convenient if you have other errands to run or shopping to do, as it's right next to the Greenwood Park Mall. I definitely recommend V Nails. Perhaps bring a book in case your wait ends up being longer than mine, but even so I think it'd be worth it. read more

WONDERFUL! Went here today for a quick fix. My nails were all chipped and in terrible shape. Nunu did my nails, and he spent a lot of time on them! He was super kind and did a great job. The prices were fair as well, in my opinion! It is hard to find a good nail salon, but this one is amazing!
