Warmest welcome to the neighborhood! I'm thrilled and here's why: As someone who works from home, I know my coffee shops (I tend to camp out for a bit). Provider is located on the main level of Tinker House (event space on the second floor. It hits all the basic requisites for being a great spot to work from (plugs under the tables, comfy seats, a community bar-like table to spread out on, friendly staff and a great coffee menu and fresh croissants). Beyond this, Provider also inspires creativity with their gorgeous decor: cute neon sign with a positive message, great plants and cool tile work. At the same time, the kind, welcoming staff are also crafting amazing lattes. I had a Pistachio Latte with cashew milk (never tried it before so why not?!). It was delicious and I'm not even usually a coffee drinker. The best part? THERE'S A GARAGE DOOR THAT OPENS TO THE OUTSIDE. I often have phone calls in the middle of working, so it was incredible to walk outside for a call and have that quiet while also being able to watch my stuff. Okay but now for a cooler topic: this coffee shop turns into a rockin' hang at night, complete with Hotel Tango cocktails and a neon pink glow (so I've heard) - can't wait to come back for it! read more

I'm enamored with the Coat Check "cola", after ordering it multiple times at Provider. I originally ordered the Coat Check combo, not knowing the espresso and house-made ginger beer were served separately. The barista-bartender recommended the Coat Check Cola instead, reminiscing how he had crafted the recipe in aim of creating a Dr. Pepper-type flavor profile. Provider's version most definitely trumps his inspiration, a fizzy & refreshing concoction of espresso, soda water, orange/orgeat, and luxardo cherry flavors. It can also be made decaf, which I'm grateful for. I much prefer Provider to Coat Check Coffee. The designers of Provider have seemed to mine my sub-conscious for the ideal coffee shop and meeting space, with plenty of light, plants, wooden accents, and minimalist quirk. It doesn't feel as claustrophobic or kid-heavy as Coat Check and parking is a breeze. Provider is also open later and serves adult-beverages, with unique takes on my favorite boulevardier and other cocktails. It also devotes a few of its taps to my favorite styles of beer using catch-all categories, i.e. "Juicy IPA" and "Tart Beer". I overheard an employee say they hope to add additional taps in the future. Provider's selection of pastries and other treats is also admirable; I especially recommend the chocolate cookie, which is probably the best double-chocolate cookie I've had...it seems to have a touch of spice and lots of nice salty bits. I had my first visit to Provider- finally! The space is beautiful and just the kind of environment that I'd want to work in. That is, if I could find a table! Provider was packed when I came in to meet my friend, and she let me know that she had to wait to snag a table before I arrived. There's more seating outside, but it was raining when we came in, so that wasn't too helpful for us. All the same, you know if you have a space people want to hang out at, they're doing something right. The barista I spoke with was super nice. I let her know it was my first time in and she welcomed me and thanked me for trying them out. Then she explained to me where everything was-- coffee menu, bathrooms, water glasses, etc. I appreciated that! As a non-coffee drinker, someone who doesn't drink alcohol, and someone who has to eat gluten and dairy free, there honestly isn't too much at Provider I can have. BUT. I ordered the Golden Milk with oat milk and let me tell you... it was DELICIOUS. They label it as a ginger/spicy cousin of the chai latte and I'd say that's accurate. I loved the taste, and it was one of the prettiest drinks I've ever had. At $6 a cup, it's not something I'll be able to enjoy often, but for special meetings or work days, it'll be a welcomed treat. Love love love PROVIDER! This is a cute spot of a newly redesigned Tinker House. It's easy to miss if you aren't used to the area. The inside is so cute. There are a lot of spaces for pulling in if you are working. The ambiance is awesome with all the leafy plants and wood counter tops. I ordered the dark chocolate coffee and it was excellent! The chocolate is locally sourced which is awesome. There was also sea salt on the latte and that really helped add an extra texture and flavor to the drink. My bf ordered the coat check combo which comes with a shot of espresso and rhizomatic ginger beer. Omg it was soooo flavorful. I definitely recommend either those two drinks. This was my go to for my lattes. Very disappointed. First, there was no garnish on both the pistachio and butterscotch lattes. Second, they didn't taste the same. Finally, the drinks were just placed on the counter and people were walking up and picking them up while saying "what is this? is this mine?" C'mon, I come here for the coffee experience. What can I say about his place? I'm already a fanboy of their sister location Coat Check Coffee, and Provider offers the same quality coffee and pastries in a new spot. I've had the lattes and croissants at both businesses, and no surprise, they are equivalent (best latte in the world and pastries contending for the top spot in Indy). I've had a couple of long drinks here later in the evening. They were great, but I'm still warming up to the idea of a long drink. Some part of me expects a certain "buzz per dollar" for a cocktail, and the long drink seems to pack a light punch. Otherwise, both long drinks I tried were very pleasant to drink. This is my most visited coffee shop in Indianapolis. It helps that it's only a couple minutes away from home, but to be quite honest with you the reason I love Provider is because they serve lattes & pastries with a smile every single time. Their ginger latte is my go -to no matter what time of year as you can get it hot or cold and I opt for oat milk. It's the perfect flavor combination for a morning pick me up. They get their pastries from Landlocked Baking Co, which is a fantastic local bakery, and their sea salt bialy with chive cream cheese is another go-to of mine. I'm so glad that one of my favorite coffee shops has been able pivot and remain open for carryout during COVID. I believe they are were starting to have socially distant seating as things have gotten colder. This is in the same family of Coat Check (another favorite) and Certain Feelings (on our list to try)! They very clearly mark where you park for pickup and what to do when you arrive. You can easily order on their site and they wait until you arrive to start making your order so that it's as fresh as possible. Their menu items are delicious and many of them are grown by their team at Small Victories in a locally grown garden. Most recently I ordered one of their toast options, which they have gluten free bread available for. While I love their ginger latte, if you want something full of latte-like flavor without the caffeine, I'd highly recommend the golden milk. They also have a great selection of seasonal lattes as well. The chocolate latte is amazing and not too sweet, more of a bitter hint of natural chocolate flavor. While they only have cashew milk as a milk alternative, any of their coffee and tea drinks are good with this option as well. I cannot wait to revisit and sit inside again with the wonderful atmosphere, neon sign, plants that could envy a greenhouse, fun painted murals and an incredible patio space. read more

All right, where do I even start? When I realized that I hadn't written interview for the rider yet I honestly was quite concerned. I've been sipping on some delicious Provider lattes, specifically to pistachio latte for quite a while so I'm not quite sure why I forgot to leave a review. The founders of this joint have various other coffee shops throughout the city so if you see a menu at another coffee shop with looks quite similar well I'm just about guaranteeing you that it's owned by the same. Anyways enough about that let's get on to the basics, the food. Honestly I love their lattes. I've honestly say they put quite a bit of crafted care into every cup which is refreshing because nowadays it seems like many shops don't put quite the love into their lattes like provider. They've got some free parking in there a lot, however I would caution you to be aware that a few of the spots are reserved for other businesses located nearby. Providers serves cocktails leave meeting as well however I have not yet had that experience. They've also got free Wi-Fi and lots of sitting upstairs that often time is reserved for larger events but I highly recommend you soak in the audience provider as at one point in time this was quite a distressed and building that I needed lots of work. There is a vegan options on the menu and they have something that I'm certain you can find something to enjoy. Oh and they've got a perfect spot for those of you that like to bike around the city so go ahead and ride your bike here Park it and grab a cup of Java. read more

I previously would have given 5 stars. I love their coffee (lattes are incredible), the vibe, and that it's in my neighborhood. However, since a few weeks ago, they have changed some things up. Previously, I could justify a $7 latte because the tip was included. This seems to have changed. Now, with the new Toast system, it elicits a tip. Met with a couple friends to try Provider for the first time and we were all very pleased. One of my friends and I split the BLT avocado toast that was made with coconut bacon and the breakfast burrito. Both were very good, but the real star of the show was the breakfast burrito. They also had a number of pastries and cookies from other local places. I will admit, I'm pretty new to the latte world, so I didn't notice much of a different taste between the pistachio latte I ordered and other lattes I've gotten previously, but it was still very good. I look forward to trying some of the other flavors. This place is clearly a favorite brunch spot for many people. The syrups are unique and the extra touches like sea salt on the chocolate latte or orange zest on the butterscotch take the lattes to the next level. I am still thinking about when the next time will be that I can get a latte here. Also I love the decor and other small touches. The small glass cups for a cortado are a fun pink color which matches the tones in the decorations. The outdoor space looks amazing for the summer and in the winter there is plenty of natural light to warm the space. Beware though that tables are hard to come by and laptops are prohibited on weekends. If you are wanting to get some work done this might not be the place for you. read more

I had some time to kill before I took the pup to the vet so I wanted to get some coffee while I waited. I pulled up handy dandy Yelp app to see what was around and Provider was the one. I pulled up kind of confused if they were open because it was 8am and very few cars in the parking lot but they were open. This place really is a mood. The decor is perfect for a stormy day just like it was. The dark colors and Amber lights, with plants cascading from ceilings, really set the mood. I looked at others reviews to help me with deciding what I wanted. The menu seemed a little scarce online and I didn't see one when I came in so others reviews really helped. I ordered the pistachio iced latte with oat milk for my non-dairy people. Never had it or heard of it but worked. I also grabbed an almond crescent both in which were bomb! The latte complimented the crescent well. I never had it but tasted so good. The bad: two main complaints...First complaint is on selection...they don't offer a selection of sweeteners..the only sweetener was brown turbinado sugar that was hard to dissolve and changed the flavor of the coffee. Second..they were short staffed...leaving tables unbussed. The disappointing: because they were short staffed the ladies bathroom was disgusting. Trash overflowing, one of the two stalls was completely out of toilet paper, and both stalls were just dirty. This is such a pretty coffee shop! We went around 10:30am to grab lattes and a spot to study. Sadly they were out of the pistachio latte I wanted to try, but I got a vanilla and it was great! However it was a bit overpriced in my opinion compared to other local coffee shops downtown. Also, we were unable to get a seat to study as it was packed with people. This place made my entire day. It's the perfect space for a meeting, for work, for getting a great cup of coffee. First, I loved the atmosphere. The decorations and seating arrangement give the place a friendly, welcoming vibe. And the staff members deliver that, as well. The barista was very helpful and told me to page them if I needed anything. They made a really memorable impression on me with their hospitality. Another plus to this establishment is the ample amount of free parking in the back - no battling parking meters! Now, on to the food and beverages. Their warm biscuits were life changing. So buttery and delicious. And the accompanying apple butter tasted incredibly fresh. My coffee was also superb, not needing any cream.
