I found Pro Touch Pool Services on Yelp, but also investigated their reviews on both Google and Angie's List. On all three sites, Pro Touch received stellar reviews, so I contacted them to secure an estimate for a few minor repairs that I needed to my pool equipment - leaks at junction to both pool heater and pump. Kevin, the owner, answered my call immediately. We discussed the repair work needed and he asked me to text him photos of the issues. He immediately sent his cell number so that I could text the photos directly to him. I sent the photos within 30 minutes and Kevin immediately contacted me to confirm that he received the photos and was sending them on to his scheduler to draw up an estimate and coordinate a date for the work to be completed. I received the estimate within a few hours and it was very reasonable, so I accepted the terms and returned the contact. Work was scheduled and completed within 24 hours. Lance, our repair tech, called to let me know he was on his way and arrived on time. He expertly addressed and resolved the problems, tested the equipment to ensure problems were resolved, and cleaned up after all work was performed. He even addressed one additional issue that was discovered while repairs were being performed. A quick call to the office to secure the cost for additional work, parts were on truck and repair was added to work order/completed. Overall, I found Pro Touch to have excellent response time, reasonable costs and exceptional professionalism. I am paying for full service but there has been several times that my pool has not been cleaned. Thank goodness for cameras. They were on my property today for 2 whole minutes for full service, including chemicals and cleaning my pool, and my pool had alot of debris left in the pool because it clearly was not cleaned. First of all, it is very difficult to find a knowledgable pool company that will make repairs without requiring that a service contract be in place. That being said, I called their office on a Monday and a technician (Lance) got back to me that day. I had a spa remote that had gone bad, and my pool light needed replacing. I sent Lance a few pictures with some measurements, and the office gave me a very reasonable quote within the hour (that's right, they didn't have to come out survey everything). They gave me options, but did not attempt to up-sale. To my surprise, they set up an appointment for that Wednesday. Lance was able to accurately diagnose the light problem immediately. Others had tried and failed (waste of time and money). Lance fixed the light and the spa remote (making it look easy), and told me things about my pool I didn't know (after having it for 20+ years). Every step of the process was a pleasure, starting with the first call, and ending with everything fixed and my pool in better shape than ever. I was even given free advice about how to improve the general maintenance. I couldn't be more pleased with the expertise and professionalism of ProTouch Pool Services. I have written some scathing reviews in my time. THIS is NOT one of them. I was literally dreading having (again) to try to find an honest, competent pool company/tech. I took a chance on ProTouch Pool Services. (Sir) Lance(elot) rode up on his trusty white steed and slayed the pool monster. I have been doing my own regular pool maintenance for years, but when it comes to troubleshooting mechanical problems I need a pro. And they are rare. Lance is that rare pool tech. He diagnosed the problem quickly. Fixed it quickly. All the while explaining to me the "whys" and "whats". He gave me a lot of good (filter) maintenance advice. He even installed a pipe and knob to make it easier to drain the filter (Manufacturers insist on putting the filter drain plug in a ridiculously hard to get to place). He did this all for a fair price and didn't try to sell me any parts or services I didn't need. Honesty, integrity and technical knowledge should be the norm, not the exception! And indeed, I can tell that for Lance and this company, those qualities, thankfully, ARE the norm. They are the only pool service company I will ever use. read more

I moved into my home 1 1/2 years ago. The in-ground spa was inoperable when we bought, but we've been too busy to deal with fixing it. Finally, there's time to deal with it so I came to Yelp to help me choose a service provider. I chose ProTouch because of these Yelp reviews, and I am happy to say that Glenn and Greg live up to all these happy customers' reviews! I never felt they were trying to "up" my bill. They told me which items were in good condition and which needed replacing. My electronics needed to be completely redone, but Glenn did not try to sell me some fancy, automated system because our small backyard jacuzzi only needed a very simple system in place. I'm sure he saved me hundreds on that system alone! Both gentlemen are friendly and courteous and easy to talk to, which is a plus. They were patient as they explained the issues and the fixes and then again on how to operate the system. I will definitely be using them again as later I may add a salt cell to my system! Glenn and Greg completed a upgrade to our pool last week. We had a 10+ year old pool and needed a complete replacement of the pumps and filter, along with all of the associated plumbing. Glenn was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. It was important that the changes be done quickly as I had company arriving soon for a backyard event. The upgrade was completed in a single day as promised by Glenn. Everything went smoothly and I am very pleased with my new equipment. We found Glenn from ProTouch Pool Services through a friend that had a new variable speed pump installed by him.  He's very helpful, and responsive to my questions before and after the installation.  The space enclosing my pump is very small and narrow, but he was able to work with it like a champ.  There were some issue with my other pool equipments that I wasn't aware such as the check valve and solar temperature sensor.  My old pump wasn't priming properly because of an air leak and it damaged the motor.  Glenn knew the exact problems and corrected them during the installation.  He installed my new Pentair 2VST variable speed pool pump, EasyTouch upgrade kit, and the Pentair 8 functions indoor wired remote.  Glenn is highly recommended. We are very happy with his service. read more

I'm kind of confused by all the 5 star reviews here on yelp. I have called multiple times to speak with someone about setting up a monthly service. The first time I called during business hours, and the call was forwarded off to voicemail. I left a detailed message and a request to return my call. After a week of waiting for someone to contact me regarding my message, I decide to try and call again. Perhaps, the person that checks the voicemail is out, right? Well, that wasn't the case because this time someone did answer, and I began to explain that I had tried to call a few times during business hours and had left a message over a week ago. The young lady then says that maybe she was out to lunch and that is why it went to voicemail. She also added that she would call the owner and let him know about my request asap and he would be calling me back promptly. Well that has now been 3 more days. Not sure how a company can stay in business when they can't or will not take on new business. read more

He was thorough and identified all the problems even problems you can't see. He tested the equipment and showed us how it all worked or didn't in this case. He even brought to our attention the house roof had solar years ago which isn't their anymore. I was referred to Pro Touch Pool Services by a local (San Diego) pool plastering company as a reputable company who specializes in pool equipment, pool chemistry, and other various services involving pools. I have maintained my own pool for over 30 years, but specifically needed to talk with an expert about pool chemicals, equipment and other misc. items. I spoke with Kevin over the phone, and from our discussion I knew he was very knowledgeable. I had Kevin come out to my house, and we spent an hour-and-a-half going over pool chemistry/chemicals, test kits, pump motors, heaters, blowers, plaster, valves and anything else you can think of regarding my pool. It was a productive and refreshing conversation - I'm used to going into pool supply stores having them always trying to sell me something, especially chemicals that Kevin says I don't need. He is realistic, and won't try to sell you something just to make money. Kevin was by far the most knowledgeable pool professional I have ever dealt with. He is honest, fair and has a "common sense" approach that you can't seem to find anymore. Since I do my own upkeep and maintenance work, Kevin instructed me with reasonable ideas that will save me money. I have never seen anyone so astute on pool chemistry - he walked me through what I needed to do when I drain my pool and re-add chemicals. This guy knows POOL CHEMISTRY!
