We've had excellent luck with this company over the years, until a tech named Mike Ash started servicing our house. Here's what happened since he started coming: 1. Our internet went out just as he was completing his first visit, because he sprayed the fiberoptic junction box. Apparently, he was never trained to not do this. 2. Mike is in and out of our house less than 20 minutes after arriving, after he allegedly treats the inside and outside of our house, including 5 minutes to write up our invoice. No other tech ever sent by this company has ever been done in less than 45 minutes. 3. Mike ignores special requests, like "please open up the closet in the kitchen to spray around the hot water heater." If I ask him about it after he's left the room. 4. When I asked Mike what he found after today's visit, he said "nothing." Nothing, inside or out? I probed. Nothing, he repeated. I'm pretty sure he sprays as fast as he can, not looking carefully at anything, based on both our experiences with him so far. 5. After I asked Mike to not spray the junction box that kills our internet today, he told me about all the other security systems and water heaters he has disabled through his careless work for other customers while working for this company. Apparently, he has learned very little from his experiences in this regard over the years. If you use this company, I urge you to request anybody except Mike Ash to take care of your job. If we use Protex again, we will certainly do the same. I saw a few roaches, called Protex had them come out to spray. The exterminator was awesome, I was convinced I'd made the right choice with Protex. Now I'm one week to the day that I had Protex come out. I have a roach problem worse than before. I called them back and explained that just a week ago they where out, I'm seeing more roaches. I was informed "NO WARRANTY" it'll be another 89.95 to treat your problem. I haven't seen one (1) dead roach. read more

David Dowsey by far exceed my expectations. Protex was the first ones I called for an estimate for termites. I had several locations around the home with mud tubes. David gave me his estimate with the linear feet he would cover, how many gallons of product he would use, the product we were going to use, gave me a folder with all the information and was completely transparent about it. I read through it and called two other people to come quote me. The other two people quoted me between $1,000-$800 higher than he did with inflated prices and the gallons they were going to use did not match the termidor information David had given me. Immediately I called them out. Called Protex the next day and had the service scheduled. They were busy so my service was about a week and a half after my initial estimate. David was kind enough to stop by on the weekend to treat the area where they were predominantly visible. I thought both David and Brian did a genuine and upfront honest job specially in this market. Highly recommend Protex and to request David to come out. He's a very nice man he likes to inform his customers about everything. I will definitely be calling them next time and requesting David. Best price and best service. David also pointed out the house had treatment before which makes it easier for them to drill the holes on the concrete. It's hard to find a good critter/bug control company. One that calls every 4 months like they say they will. One that doesn't make you wait around all day. One that has a no kill policy for the bigger critters. One that has specials if you sign their 1 year agreement. But you know what? Protex has ALL those. Sold. After being totally ignored by our previous exterminators, I came across Protex online and was like "well hell...lets give this a go". When I called to find out a little more about them, not only was the guy so nice, but he told me all about the company, what they specialize in and their rates right up front. No surprises or anything. I scheduled an appointment and the guy showed up right on time. Me likey. Since then they have come out twice. Each time THEY CALL US to schedule, not the other way around. Quick in and out (TWSS). He inspects the attic, under our house and sprays everywhere. Sign the form and go. The only thing I have to do is put up the dog, which he hates. He just wants to lick the guys eyeballs out. Normal. Since our house is so old, we get lots of icky bugs at the start of each season, they nuke 'em quick and dirty, mmmhmm. Overall, very impressed. The technician came out really quickly after my call. He was nice and patiently and thoroughly did his job asking along the way if I wanted other areas treated as long as he was there which I took him up on at no additional cost. My pest problem was taken care of in one treatment though I could have called them in 2 weeks if I saw more and they would have done a follow up spraying. Their price was very reasonable and, unlike the first company I contacted, they didn't require me to sign up for periodic treatments to simply kill or evict some ants. Great service and such nice people! I had an emergency situation with bees entering my home from the recessed lighting. Turns out there was a swarm trying to set up a nest in my gutter and getting into the attic. I called them in a panic and the women who answered the phone could not have been nicer. The techs were all at lunch she said but she got in touch with them and called me back right away. Before I knew it, Corry was at my door coming to the rescue! Changing my rating from a 4 to a 5. Only because I called out a different service after the flea problem came back after 3mos. This service has 35 yelp reviews and 4 stars. Anyway, they charged 2x as much as Protex, and their spraying hardly changed a thing with the fleas. So we called Protex back out. And on their 2nd spray, the problem completely subsided. So I guess I realized that even tho I needed them to come out twice, they're are half the cost of the competition and their spraying worked significantly better. And I won't hesitate to use them again... so I'll give that 5 stars. read more

I have done business with this company for over ten years. They are the best of the best-they just don't send techs out to spray. They know what they are doing, and they stand behind their work. I was searching for a pest control company because I knew I had a problem. I called Protex begging for help. The Service Manager called me back within an hour to make an appointment. He came out the very next day to look around and could not believe to the extent of the rat nest I had in my attic! He took the time to go through the entire house to make sure they had not come into the house. I was so overwhelmed. I had doubts because how could I have lived with so many rats without knowing. The Manager stood in my foyer trying to show me the pictures so that I knew it was for real. He assured me that he would take care of everything. So he gave me two options, one more temporary and one was something called an exclusion. At this point I was ready to move but he was so kind he promised it would be OK. I set up the exclusion for the next day and he and another guy came out and started to work immediately. He told me that they would secure the entire house and absolutely nothing would get in. However, nothing would get out either so if there were any left he would come back and take care of the problem. I left for work with them handling everything. A couple of days later I knew there was something and he came out THAT day to take care of it. He followed up every couple of days for two weeks to remove anything left. Now the company calls for quarterly follow ups. I do not have anything to worry about. Thank heavens for Protex! Every time I call the phone is answered promptly with a warm voice at the other end making me feel like my business matters! I called Protex after seeing several great reviews and they did NOT dissapoint! We were having a problem with some kind of "fly's" in our house. When the worker (can't remember his name) came to my house, he informed me that they were some kind of ant and that the problem will resolve itself on its own. He said it usually takes a few days. He said that he could spray but that it wouldn't make any difference. Ants like this can come once a year and that treatment won't make a difference and they should be gone in a few days. I called a company that shall remain nameless and scheduled a free consultation. A critter that made sounds like a large pig had made my attic it's new home. The "guy" goes up there for about a minute, comes down, sorry bro, you got rats. I might have rats, but I also have a critter, the sounds this guy, not to be confused with the "guy" made were too noisy to be a rat, and he was like no sir. Bottom line, $1000 to get rid of the rats and patch some holes in the house. I wanted a second opinion, and thank goodness I did, Protex said they could fix the entire problem, for way less, and they did. Their guys found the critter's let's just call it evidence, and were able to patch a portion of the wall that he was getting in that the "guy" didn't even notice.
