I have been following Proof for years on social media. I learned how to make sourdough from videos that the owner Jon posted on YouTube. I have to say that once I finally got to experience the product in person I was not disappointed. We got a loaf of Khorasan bread and many assorted pastries including the rosemary twist and the morning bun which were my personal favorites. I can't recommend this bakery enough. The store was decorated very nicely and was super clean and quiet.

Cheese and jalapeño sourdough

I'm lucky enough to be a close neighbor of Proof Bread because I stop by here at least twice a week! Friendly customer service every time. I always get the cheese and jalapeño sourdough loaf. It's fresh and soft with a hint of spiciness. Pain Au Chocolat croissant is my absolute fav but they also have a variety of pastries that are very tasty! I love this local spot!

Green olive boule (sourdough) - $7
Vivian H.

I came here today to pick up some sourdough bread (apparently this bread is what a lot people in Blue Zones eat) and opted for the green olive boule ($7). This is a sourdough bread and I had it for breakfast this morning and it was delicious! I love olives and also sourdough. I did my happy breakfast dance this morning haha. I deducted one star as hours are very limited here and it closes at 2pm, makes it hard to always get here in time. I'll be back to pick up more sourdough bread when I get a chance. The prices are a bit high for bread, but you're paying for quality.

The cookie sandwich I made

Came in before they closed because I wanted a great cookie for the ice cream sandwich I was craving. Was helped by a nice employee who also lived in the ATL before. Anywho, I bought 2 cookies, he suggested I buy the last 3 left but I only bought two. Now I wished I had followed his advice lol. The cookie had the perfect balance of sweet and salty. I went to Bashas and bought some ice cream to make a sandwich. It was tre magnifique! I don't do dessert often but when I do.... anyways love this place. Never a bad experience. I wish they would go back on the too good to go app.

Amazing homemade bread and pastries! I enjoyed a delectable cinnamon roll that was absolutely delicious and has me wanting to try more. The restaurant was warm inside but I took my pastry to go. It's very cute and welcoming and I hope to go back when it's a cooler here in Phoenix! Service was great and quick and the prices were very reasonable and fair.

Dropped by because I started the sourdough trend and did not realize could not bake right away. I had a family dinner party and had to bring I no fresh baked bread with minimal ingredients. Decided to stop by was not disappointed. There used to be saw a glorious pan eu chocolate.. I how I adore the buttery golden flaky layers, with that almond and hazelnut scent, dark roasted cocoa and that gaze that is softer that gianduja cream, molten, bittersweet chocolate... I will certainly be back and can't wait to try the almond and strawberry cheesecake croissant! They also have a 30 day sourdough starter available with John quality organic flours and once I perfect my baked skills with my current sourdough starter will definitely come back to purchase the proof sourdough starter!

This is an amazing local bakery. We pre-ordered for Mother's Day. This bakery offers very tasty croissants filled with both savory and sweet. They also have bread, flours, and coffees. We visited the location at 32d street and Shea. Service was quick and friendly. SHOP LOCAL!

The proof is in the bread. My brother is currently obsessed with all things baking, so visiting Proof while in Phoenix was a no-brainer. This sourdough bakery crafts gluten goodies on the daily. We arrived mid-day and Proof still had a variety of items available in the showcase: croissants, loafs, chunky cookies, and several pizzas. I grabbed a margarita pizza to-go and a iced vanilla latte with oat milk. The pizza was thicc, chewie, and topped with the juiciest tomatoes. Sourdough pizza is different than anything I've ever tasted and I can officially say I'm a fan. The latte was also tasty and packed the perfect caffeinated umph to the second half of my day. Proof sells a variety of non-baked items, including trendy mugs, almond butter, jam, vinegar, honey, coffee beans, etc. The perfect spot for a unique gift for your artisanal-loving-buddy.

Nice ambiance, the man working behind the counter was friendly, and there was still a nice selection at 1:35 before they were about to close at 2. I like that they had some specialty items that they don't usually have at their farmers market setups.

Chocolate croissant and a chocolate & fruit loaf

Proof Bread, what a treat. I've tried them before but haven't visited any of their bakeries until now. They are a featured business on TooGoodToGo, an app dedicated to reducing food waste. Be aware: their bags go fast. I was lucky enough to reserve one yesterday so I could pick it up today from 2-230, after they close. I arrived a few minutes early and went to the side window as instructed. Even though I was early, the employee was helpful and picked out a bag for me. I got home and saw it was a chocolate croissant and a chocolate & fruit loaf, score. I really enjoyed the loaf; it was filled with chocolate and fruit bits and it was crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Perfect texture. The croissant was good as well, evenly distributed filling. I look forward to coming back and trying their other goods! Glad to support a local business.

Hidden gem in the PV area. Everything they make is fantastic from the bread to the pizza. The English muffins are a favorite in our house.

There's no place to sit inside, but there are two nice parking spaces out in the front since it's a busy parking lot by a gym. I didn't even know how to decide! The owner, Melissa, was so sweet to me! I asked her questions about the business, and what they do for catering. I love supporting local businesses, especially bakeries because I'm a baker myself. I talked to her about customizing an order for my place of employment in the next couple of months and she was totally on board to customize it how I wanted. Aside for my too good bag, I ended up buying an ube cake pop and a Boston cream tart, and both are out of this world! On Fridays and Saturdays, they do buy one get one free cake, pops, so it's a perfect opportunity to try all of the flavors! Definitely try this place, you will not be disappointed!

I was so excited because I heard about this place a long time ago and had yet to visit. It's fairly small inside with a small glass case on the side with cookies and one main one filled with both sweet and savory options. There were also a few loaves of bread on the counter. Everything looked great, but it was a such a warm day so my mom and I opted for something light. The Coffee Cake was indeed as light and airy as it looked. The cake layers tasted like a sponge cake with slightly dry edges (a little over-baked). I think the espresso layers were mousse and not too sweet. It was topped with a chocolate covered espresso bean that was tasty as well. Overall it was a nice afternoon treat. In our day's Sunnyslope business, our niece took us to Kris Frybread. Arriving we saw Dawn's. She said Dawn's gets high ratings too. After our excellent Kris meal I made my way to Dawn's. I am infamous in the family for my dessert rxtravagance. But I share with all at our table. Take your choice! Our niece got cannoli, I got lidded shortbread custard cups, vanilla and almond. Sweet D got a cherry and an apple turnover delivered into the box. It is five days later. My sugar intake has dropped a lot. In our home baking we cut sugar ingredients by half. Older Hopi bakers put in enough sugar for a hint of sweet in their cookies. Modern bakers glaze them. I'll take those traditional ones. When I say the shortbread cup with custard was too sweet for me, that's my 21st century palate speaking. The almond cup was a buy-again item for me, still sweet, very almond. The cherry turnover was flaky, the filling tart, oozing fillng and cherries. The gold medal, blue ribbon "I'd buy this again, for sure is the apple turnover. I can't speak on the customer service as we never left our table and our waited just walked over and got what we needed. We were pretty stuffed from our massive meal, but we decided on sharing a cup of gelato just to satisfy our sweet tooth. I peeked inside as our table was right at a little walkway from the restaurant to the bakery. Gelato is just one of many things they serve here. They also have all your typical Italian desserts. Cakes like tiramisu, pastries like Italian flag cookies, cookies like Italian wedding cookies, cannolis of different varieties, and of course gelato. What was suggested to us if we wanted gelato was the hazelnut flavor. I was expecting a little cup for the 6 of us just to get a taste, but what he brought over was a massive serving. I don't know how many scoops it was or even how much we even paid, but we all got plenty with some even left behind. Now this gelato was life changing. Probably the best I've had in the states. I know it's gotta be way better in Italy, but I'll take what I can when I can. Think of a Ferrero Rocher but in gelato form. It was delicious and I couldn't get enough of it. It wasn't overly sweet and it had a little crunch with bits of chocolate and hazelnuts. My sweet tooth was extremely satisfied after having dessert here. Ambiance (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is connected to The Sicilian Butcher. It's a small bakery, with only a few seats. More of a grab-and-go type of spot or the source of your dessert if you're dining at the restaurant. While small, the decor and ambiance is nice. Service (3/5): A little bit of bad luck, but on my most recent visit, they were having trouble with their refrigeration so no gelato was available. While interacting with the staff, it was an average experience. I will say that the service was much better in the restaurant. Drinks (N/A): I only got dessert, but they do have coffee and a few other beverages available. Food (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is known for its cannolis, tiramisu, gelato, and lobster claws (dessert, not real lobster haha). On my most recent visit, I had a cannoli. They have your classic cannoli but also a nice variety of other fillings including pistachio, Reese's, and more. A+ for creativity, though I decided to stick with the classic. Solid.
