OMG, this place rocks. We stopped into LGO Bakery and grabbed some seriously delicious goodies. The chocolate pudding cup was silky smooth and had my wife and daughter making very interesting sounds, which is to say: they loved it. I had a piece of key lime cheesecake, which was okay, and we also tried a mini Old Timer, which was like a little chocolate cake situation. I grabbed an Americano too, and we sat down and enjoyed our little dessert-and-coffee moment. But then things went off the rails in the best possible way. As we were leaving, we spotted their English muffins. And let me tell you, these things looked to die for. They were so soft in the bag that I was already emotionally invested before we even made it home. That night, I toasted one up, took a bite, and was immediately transported to my happy place. I don't know what kind of bakery wizardry is happening back there, but this English muffin was the epitome of taste. Soft, flavorful, comforting, and dangerously good. We will absolutely be back. I'm a big LGO guy. The location in Arcadia off Campbell and 40th st is quite charming. Especially if you are in to running, walking, biking etc. I haven't tried the bake shop until today. I ordered the vegetarian sandwich and it was alright. This place was very hyped for me not only for the sweet treats but for the main food too and I was a bit disappointed. My sandwich had a lot of spring mix which made it rather unflavorful. The goat cheese was good and the havarti was a nice touch but it didn't add that much flavor. I wish there had been more avocado in the sandwich too! I did enjoy the sweet bell peppers though. You order at the counter and can then pick it up from there when they call your name and choose one of the many indoor or outdoor tables. The space was nice. I am literally at LGO several times a week, and if calories didn't count, I'd be eating their baked goods daily, but they do, so I try to treat myself every few visits instead! If you find yourself in the mood for a treat or special order, you cannot go wrong here. There is literally something for everyone from their Grateful Spoon gelato to their cakes, cookies, muffins, macaroons and more... Don't fret - if you're vegan or gluten free, there are plenty of sweet options for you too. Even though I'm not vegan, my favorite cookie of all time is the LGO Vegan Apple Cookie. Ask to have it warmed up and thank me later! Other favorites include the French Sea Salt Cookie, Lemon Meringue Tart, Red Velvet Cake, Key Lime Pie, and Old Timers. If you're feeling like more of a savory treat, LGO's famous english muffins and croissants are pretty amazing too. Let me start off by saying my family really enjoys LGO and LGO Bake Shop. We have ordered many cakes and cookies for many celebrations and they have been to a T-perfect! However, we recently ordered a cake a month in advance for a bridal shower and when we picked it up it was very disappointing. The icing and fondant was cracked, the edible paper was coming off and overall not what we asked for. I ended up having to add decoration the day of our event because it was a major let down and we did not want this cake to disappoint the bride to be. Look at instagram the cakes look unbelievable! I love LGO bakery. Everything is always beautifully presented and great quality. There's nothing I hate worse than getting a scone, taking the first bite and realizing I am eating a biscuit. Scones have a certain consistency that's immediately discernible. I love their version of a Hostess Ding Dong, it's a great item to share with a friend. Christmas Eve 2021. We placed a catering order a week in advance. It's our go-to move for holidays. Pimento dip and salads from the grocery and a cake or two from the bake shop. When we got to LGO today there was a problem. Unfortunately the person that took the order a week ago didn't deliver it to the bake shop. Not a good situation considering they were closing in a hour. I went back and forth between the two and tried to get to the real problem. Did the person that acted like the manager at LGO grocery try to make it right? Nope. She let me know it wasn't her problem. When I went back to the bake shop, they were a complete 180 from the grocery. They immediately tried to fix the problem. They gave me a different cake (which is fine since they don't make bad cakes) and even threw in some red velvet cupcakes (they knew the red velvet was my main goal) just to make it right. The entire time they were apologetic and as kind as can be. This place has always made incredible cakes, cupcakes and cookies, but now I know they have amazing service too. read more

Food is good however, the service is horrible. I've come in multiple times where everyone that works here seems like they woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I've ordered plain coffee and have waited 15 minutes and seen others who ordered after me get their drinks. Same thing with the pizza, I've waited 30 minutes and once I've seen people's orders come out before mine I would politely ask how much longer for mine and they wouldn't have my order. I've worked in the restaurant industry for 10 years and totally understand, things happen, what bothers me is they have no sense of empathy for the guest. So I'm a big fan of LGO and go frequently. It's such a cute place and I love their grab and go salads and browsing the store in general. I have lived in the area for 4 yrs now and have ordered cakes from the bakery several times as well as bought muffins and cookies in the store. I've always loved them and especially their cakes. However, the past several times have been mediocre at best. I've bought two cakes recently, one in March and the other in May for Mothers Day. Both cakes were beautiful but so unbelievably DRY!!! Cakes should never be dry. And when I say dry I mean crumbly. Especially the Mothers Day one. None of us even finished our piece. So disappointing. Then last week I stopped into LGO for a latte and also grabbed a berry bran muffin. I know bran muffins are always dryer than say a blueberry or pumpkin but I took one bite and the entire muffin just crumbled all over the bag. It was flavorful but so so dry and disappointing. Also, I was there around 9am and they had nothing for morning things except that muffin and a blueberry muffin. Everything else was cookies and pieces of cakes. I probably won't order a cake here anymore because they're not cheap and just not great anymore. I'd much rather go to Arcadia Farms. Those cakes are always moist and delectable. They also have the adorable mini cakes in several different flavors which I love. Sorry LGO bake shop. Your baked goods just aren't great anymore. I rarely post reviews but I have been troubled over a bad service experience for many months. We have ordered salads, sandwiches, and Pizzas here for many years. My daughters still frequent the business but based on bad service I will no longer do so. Several months ago we ordered pizza for take out. When getting home we discovered two pizzas were burnt. Not the normal dark crust bits but burnt to the the point of being distasteful. I tried to return the pizzas but was informed by the manager on duty that they "normally burn Pizzas" and that is the way they are prepared. I requested replacements and was refused. At the end I asked the manger to throw the pizzas in the garbage. No apology or empathy from management. So long LGO. read more

I had previously returned a cake that was so heavy and gummy it was inedible. I received, a very generous gift certificate for another cake. I ordered a totally different BD cake and it was again not gummy but not even close to good, let alone delicious. I am disappointed that a bakery with high reviews cannot make a basic delicious vanilla cake. They just miss the mark. I grew up in a household with a Real baker and this is simply not worth the money or calories. Most people do not know good pastry that explains the high marks. Went to pick up a cake that I had ordered from LGO bakery and parked in a spot that had a sign that read: "pick up only for food, wine, and gifts" I was harrassed by an employee on a power trip and told I couldn't park there. She asked me if I was picking up an order and I replied yes I am picking up a cake that I have ordered. Was told in a hostile, condescending tone that I am not allowed to park there even though the sign clearly states the spot is for picking up FOOD and GIFTS, which applies to what I was doing. I just moved here a few months ago and was quiet excited . I 1st went to La Grande Orange on Mother's day with my daughter and granddaughters. It was quite busy. Since it was our 1st time. We had questions. The cashier was so distracted and short with us. Not our best experience. We just assumed it was due to the how busy it was that day. So when my daughter came to visit again she took her daughters to the pizzeria there and said , the service was over the top. My son lives near by we went for gelato with his girlfriend and her children. His girlfriend was almost in tears over how she was treated by the girl that served them. She owns her own business and knows customer service. So i guess the pizzeria there has it down with customer service but the store it's self needs some teaching on customer service. I am afraid to take my out of town guests there now. Unless we go for pizza. The atmosphere is nice. But the service behind the counter needs to be more helpful and kind. read more

The order process was easy and the cake was competitively priced. I've been in since then for balloons and party supplies and the staff is always really friendly. This bakeshop creates the most gorgeous and delicious cakes in the world! I've bought little cakes for family birthdays, sea salt cookies , gingerbread men, and best of all, a Rudolph Christmas cake complete with chocolate antlers. Service is impeccable, and it is obvious the the owner/or manager (a tall, smiling European guy) takes great pride in his creations.
