Great local Panaderia. Mom and popps family owned. The people are nice, and the bread is nicer. The conchas are soft, fluffy, and just the right sweetness. I love how fresh everything is, and the cochas I got are still warm. They have many different flavors of empanadas. All of them are good. Can't go wrong here.

The man at the front is really nice! Ordered a small cake for our engagement dinner and it was delicious. Small family run bakery but everything looks delicious. They have a variety of baked goods and small cakes and flan slices for purchase to try in case you are on the fence over a cake. The tres leches cake was amazing, nice and fluffy and moist with the tres leches, but not overwhelmingly sweet, just the perfect amount! We will definitely be back!

Filling good, nothing was too sweet. Appreciated that the tres leches wasn't too sweet - nice contrast of cocoa and the refreshing leche. My 4 items came to be a little bit over $10.

Haven't gotten into the empanadas yet but the owner recommended the pineapple, apple and lemon. I bought pineapple and apple. For 5 items, my total came out to a little over $10. Seriously amazing. This is a small business I think you should support. I definitely will when I'm in the area. Not the nicest of strip malls but it's one of the nicest bakery owners. Go check it out!

Cutest pastries, under $2 each! Such a steal and the empanadas were huge. The owner working the front of the shop was extremely warm and nice to us. The sense of nostalgia is similar to when I am greeted and taken care of by aunties at the Cantonese bakeries from my childhood.

Delicious pan dulce from Carmen's Bakery. We also treated our office to a flan this week that was amazing and their chocolate tres leches is to die for. It is my birthday cake request every year. Owner is the nicest man and we love supporting our local family bakery.

The legendary tres leches cake is phenomenal. It truly is the best tres leches cake in Phoenix, maybe in all of Arizona. I called to order a cake for pickup at the end of the week. The man on the phone was extraordinarily nice and helpful. A few days later I picked up the cake and it was gorgeous. The man who helped me - presumably the man on the phone and the owner maybe? - was so kind and pleasant. My cake was ready to go. When I tried it, it was heaven. Best Latin pastries I have had to date. Have tried many other's here in the east and west valley. I won't mention names as not to seem bias. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place was a surprise for me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Met the owner/baker. Super nice guy . Had a good conversation with him, he explained options and I brought home a dozen variety of different tasty generous filled fruit empanadas. The price point can't be beat compared to the others. The key here is texture, flavor, filling portion and fresh not dry that makes this perfect. .. I will be a regular weekly customer as of today. read more

Coming from Massachusetts we were in search of an authentic Mexican bakery and we were happy we found Carmen's! Ended up with a box of pan dulce that we enjoyed for several days during our road trip. I wanted pan dulce and checked Yelp for possibilities- Carmen's was suggested and after reading reviews I went! Being from Los Angeles, I am picky but WOW! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Yes, the place is quaint yet it has wide varieties of pan that are within 3 glass cases![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The moment we walked in we could smell the pan being freshly made - it smelled yummy! The owner was very friendly and proud of his shop. Service was quick as we were able to make our own selection and he helped by boxing our "small" amount of pan dulce! I tend to get carried away- lol! We were not disappointed, next time in north Phoenix I will return! read more

Sweet little hidden gem in East Phoenix. We stumbled across this on accident because I was craving some 3leches cake for my birthday. Y'all It was soooo bomb! From the street Carmen's Bakery is a hidden gem in a small plaza, but is very worth finding. As soon as I entered the building I was greeted warmly. The man who rang me up was happy to tell me about the different pastries he offered. I took him up on the flan and vanilla tres leches cake, as well as a bag of conchas. Upon getting home I tried each of them and was floored by the freshness and flavor. Each item was delicious from the first bite to the last, and the conchas almost melted in your mouth. As if the quality of the pastries weren't enough, the prices are almost as good. Such flavor for such a modest cost are worth a visit whenever you're in the area. read more

I can definitely appreciate that they offer options for people who are vegan, have allergies, or have certain dietary restrictions and still want to satisfy their sweet tooth. But for me personally, the taste and quality just didn't justify paying almost $7 for one cupcake. The customer service didn't really help the experience either. Since it was my first time, I asked the girl at the front what their best sellers were and what she recommended. I was genuinely trying to make conversation and get some guidance on what I should try, but she wasn't very helpful or engaging. It honestly felt like I was talking to a wall. Overall, it's a cute spot and I appreciate what they offer for people with dietary restrictions, but between the price, texture, lack of flavor, and customer service, it just wasn't for me.

Excellent variety of donuts and pastries in a small bakery that should have hundreds more reviews than they currently have! They only have 58 reviews at the time I'm writing this, yet they have been open for about 5 years and almost everything they make is top quality and not overly sweet like most bakeries tend to make everything. I'd highly recommend trying this place out if you're nearby, or if you'll be in the area if you're just passing through like I was, because their prices are better than most other "high end" bakeries but their quality is on par with those places! I got a dozen assorted items to take with me on my long drive where my next stop is about 380 miles away and I finished half the box in the first 75 miles lol! read more
