I am very familiar with the OG Purisima on Glendale Ave. It's a great bakery but I moved away from an easy trip to that one. I was thrilled to find they had an outpost on 7th St and Union Hills. The new one is smaller and they have less choices than the main bakery but what they make is just as good. Most importantly they have fresh tortillas! if you are near this Purisima outpost go with confidence their stuff is delicious! read more

Picked up some pan dulce for my dad's birthday, there was no wait at 8:30am. Their conchas and cuernitos are soft and orejas were good. Not too sweet which is nice. $10 for 6 pieces. The ladies at the counter were very kind. I've tried their burritos before--the red sauce is yummy and tortillas are fresh. I'll have to come back to try the bolillos and empanadas. read more

The staff is great. All the ladies that are working are always super nice, helpful and friendly. They have a variety of pastries and sweet bread and it's always very good and fresh. They also sell homemade tortillas for $6 per dozen which is great for the quality. They offer red and green shredded beef burritos for $5 as well. I also enjoy when they put out holiday themed items. I believe they also sell tamales but I have yet to try those. Everything tastes very authentic and you can tell it's made fresh. You can even see them making the tortillas at times too. This bakery has been a staple for my family for years. I remember as a kid going to the original location in Glendale super early to make sure we got there in time to get what we wanted before they ran out. Times have changed and you don't have to worry about volume as much. This location is super close to my house and I love it. They bake their Mexican pastries fresh each day and are quality. Soft, flaky, flavorful depending on your choice. If you haven't had the green chili burrito I'd recommend that as well. The last time I had it, it was a little bit "small", so I would say get two. When I buy flour tortillas I get them here. They are medium size and cooked just enough so you can take them home and throw them on the comal, flame or however you cook yours. read more

Came the other day to pick up some mini burritos before work. The staff were super friendly! I got two green chile burritos and they were very good, they had a homemade taste, similar to my Nana's, and had a good amount of meat and potatoes. Price was reasonable as well. I can say I'm officially obsessed with this bakery! I just moved right down the street and I find myself going a couple times a week! You just try the green chile burritos!!! The tortillas are perfection. Pork, potatoes and salsa are soooo tasty! I usually get 2-3 to have one the next day! Everytime I've gone in I try a new pastry but I've had a strawberry cake that was delicious! A cheese pastry, and pineapple. Everyone who works there is so friendly and helpful! Ok so my good buddy Joe would pick me up these tortillas several months back for like $4, now $6. They were so good. He said they became to expensive to pick up he has a large family. So not here it's just me, had been craving those flipping tortillas. They are so good you can just heat them & eat them. Don't do like I do put butter & honey on them . Thank you Jesus they gave my taste buds new life. Ok let's get to today, so my friend gave me the name he lives in Avondale, I'm in central Phoenix. I Yelp the name, what to my wandering eyes appeared they have a location like minutes from my crib. Shut the front door, I'm getting my tortillas. But he didn't tell me it was a beautiful Mexican bakery. They have burritos, tamales, tortillas, Mexican cookies, bread, and cake. The green chili burrito OMG $5 bucks little but mighty flavor. I got a couple deserts very good. I'm stopping tomorrow I now have to try the red burrito & I'm curious about their Tamales. I haven't found any good tamales in a while. I am sad I have to wait to go back to get their Rosca de Reyes bread. I should've got the biggest size they had and a mini one. It was the best bread I've had. The bread was flavorful and soft. We also got concha's, jello domes and other types of pan. The prices were also very reasonable. The bakery was pretty busy when we went on a Sunday morning. This place also makes fresh tortillas. This was my first time here. I've had stuff from the other location on Glendale Ave. Service is super friendly. Tbh I didn't know what everything was called, but I don't speak a lot of Spanish. However they do speak English so y'all will get by just fine. They seem to be happy working there too because they were smiling a lot with everyone. They work pretty fast as well, so even if the line looks a little long, it moves quickly. It looked pretty clean in there. They don't use the same trays for people's orders, and they wrap each item that could get messy (frosted donut/cheesecake, etc) in separate paper so they don't smear on the bag or anything. (It's not like some fast food places where it's just thrown in the bag). Get the burritos. The green chile one is my fave. It has pork and potatoes and is amazing any time of day. Not too salty, the tortilla is perfect and the burrito as a whole is full of flavor. My big recommendation with that is buy yourself at least 2. One for now and another for later, or 2 for now if you have a big appetite. I don't come here a lot bc I don't want to veer too much off my regular diet, but I also got cheesecake, a few donuts, sugar cookies and a couple of pig cookies. The cheesecake is not that sweet, but has a good texture. I loved it when I added my homemade salted caramel to it. The portion is a good size too. Because it's less sweet, if you eat it without anything added, it would be a first for me to say it's "breakfast cheesecake" but I would definitely eat it again. Kiddos loved the donuts. Zero complaints from them. The mini-mini was talking about how great it was with the flavors/texture. The bigger mini was all about eating quickly. They did share a bite with each other which was sweet. The pig cookies are like soft gingerbread with less gingery flavor. They are a great way to start a day with a cup of coffee or milk or whatever. They aren't too sweet and they are soft, not chewy. No pictures bc I was in too much of a hurry to eat but I really liked it. Definitely will come back. read more

Went to the other branch on my last trip to Phoenix and couldn't leave this time without getting some more Mexican baked stuff. Much smaller outlet then the original store but definitely the same good quality product! No lines at all, so the person working there was able to describe everything we wanted to know about. Peach Empanada was amazing! Filling was not too sweet, and kinda felt too little at one point, but the crust totally made up for it! Flaky and suddenly sweet and went really well with the filling. I would totally be able to have five at a time! Bigotes (like to concha but little more dense and had the pink koncha topping swirled inside, and powdered sugar on top) was SO GOOD! It looks like a croissant but it was actually a bread. Very distinct flavor and so so good and addictive! Super soft Conchas! So fresh and light and airy as well. Very easy to devour in under a minute, haha. Flan was soft and smooth and sweet as last time. No sugary sweet and just the right amount of caramel flavor and overall a beautiful one. Husband also got the square pastry with coconut on top and a dollop of vanilla pudding in the middle. He really loved it but I wasn't too much of a fan because of the coconut and pastry going on. read more

Myself and My family have been customers since I was a child and I am in my late 30s now. I won't lie that some items aren't as good as they were and the prices continue to increase with the quality of items diminishing. For example some of the bakery items, are very dry and I mean, DRY LIKE JUST add water MRE dry. It makes me very sad cause this bakery has history for us. For 6 tamales, 2 maranitas, 2 danish, 1 concha, 2 empanadas, 1 bolillo, and then 1 burrito. It ended up being $42 and some change. It was far too overpriced. read more

Phoenix has so many Mexican food options that it can be overwhelming for the visitor. This modest store front in a strip mall can be easily overlooked. Thanks to a local relative, we got the Intel on Purisma. While the display case shows many appealing pastries, we go straight for the Mexican food. Mainly tortillas and tamales. they are simply superior quality and well priced. Ours are now safely on Long Island and will be meted out for months. read more

It you want a selection of breads make sure you come early in the day. We came later in the afternoon and the selection was slim but we're still very good for what was left. However, we mainly came for the tortillas which we took back home and were just as delicious! I ordered a birthday cake for my friend, and I told the ladies to surprise me with the filling. It was a Tres leches cake when I went to pick it up to my surprise it was absolutely magnificent. It had beautiful flowers that were roses on the top with little flower, petals in between with pearls the writing was perfectly done when we brought it home we cut into it, and it had cream on the inside with strawberries in between that were fresh. this was the most magnificent cake we have all tasted. We just were besides ourselves with joy thank you so much ladies you've got done yourselves. I would highly recommend you. I can't wait to order the next cake!!!! read more

The original location is in Glendale. La Purisima Bakery is a big supporter of our Valley sports teams. I came here during the NBA playoffs to pick up some Suns themed conchas for work. This place is certainly a Phoenix gem! The counter assistants are really sweet and courteous. Always nice to be served with a smile every time I come here. It is hard to choose from all the products they have. Cold desserts, pastries, cakes, breads and tortillas, you name it. My favorite pastry so far is the "ojo" (eye), which consists of a fluffy cake middle encased by crunchy pastry. Yum! The tortillas are out of this world. No wonder they have a limit on how many packages you can buy. Warm them on a warm dry skillet and watch them puff up like a balloon. The best tortillas I have had hands down. read more
