Honestly it would be a great place to eat except the service is horrible, takes forever to be seated. Food was good but my service dog wasn't allowed inside. god forbid you need to take shelter from wind and pollen if you have a dog. So we were forced to sit outside and dodge things flying through the wind and bird poop. Oh yea and there's bird poop all over the patio tables. I asked bae for a chill happy hour and chill happy hour is what i got. Prohibition is a laid back speakeasy style bar with several options for drinks, beers and wine. The bartender was excellent in giving suggestions. They even have a build your own old fashioned, which i think is really cool! Happy hour is from 3-7 Monday thru Friday. Creative drinks, definitely old school and our cup of tea. As an avid gin drinker I was in heaven with all the old school drinks. We just went for light fare and got the pretzel and the fries. The pretzel was delicious, the fries nothing to write home about. I was hoping for hand cut, double fried fries but they were pretty basic. Overall the establishment was clean and the server was attentive and knew the menu. For light fare and the drinks we'd go back and try some of the other tempting options on the menu. read more

The pace gets 3 stars. Pros: the inside is really well done. Clean and has a great ambiance. The drinks are made well and visually appealing. Cons: The service. Literally the girl did not smile once, we were there today for spring fest. She honestly could barely answer our questions... Rather she just made us feel like we were bothering her. It was a windy day and my drink spilled all over my lap, which is totally fine but she didn't even offer me a towel, I had to sit there and wait 30 minutes for just some artichoke dip with my drink all over my lap and nothing to help soak it up. I was honestly blown away at the lack of care or concern for her job. If you don't like your job that much DON'T WORK THERE! Seriously. The wait time for food is ridiculous, but honestly it was probably just our server. The place does get 3 stars because it's cute, cleanliness and has plenty of room to improve. Finally stopped by Prohibition looking for something to eat along with a craft beverage and wasn't disappointed. Enjoyed a "Thyme to drink" despite not being a fan of gin as the combination of flavors sounded intriguing. Not a bad libation but the floral tones of the gin will keep me from having another but if you're a gin fan, it rocks. My companion had a custom old fashioned and found it exquisite. To accompany our drinks we ordered three different appetizers and they were all superb. Bacon wrapped dates were tender and oozing with flavor. The charcuterie tray featured three salamis, three cheeses, three fruits and some fig preserves. The combinations were plentiful and we enjoyed each bite. Our last appetizer, the pork belly cubes, were my favorite though all three will be ordered again. Covered in a house dry rub, these fried morsels are served with soy sauce and a siracha aioli that overwhelmed the meat (I must admit I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to heat so others might find it a delightful pairing) and the soy sauce was a surprisingly good enhancement. My only issue was the inconsistency of the cube size led to some overfried smaller pieces. All in all a pleasant meal and drink experience. Prohibition features live music and the nights artist Blake Jackson has just begun his set as we exited. If his first few bars are an indication, the entertainment was on par with the food. Everything about this place was amazing! It's so cute inside, our server Jameson was the best, the drinks were sooo good and the food was incredible! We got the fried pickles which were probably the best we've ever had, the sriracha deviled eggs, pork belly bites and fried mozzarella were delicious. We got two pizza - the meat lovers and sweet and spicy pig and both were so good. The crust was amazing. I'm running out of synonyms to describe this place but everything was awesome! Been a few times and overall have had a pleasant experience. Weird thing is every Time we go back it just keeps sliding downhill. Last night was rough. Showed up around 945ish, and inside was pretty full so we opted to sit outside like we always do. Looked like TWO employees running a Saturday night. One bartender one server. It is what it is i guess no one seems to want to work so i had no issue waiting for them to come out. Got a couple of drinks ordered and they gave us waters which was nice. I asked for some appetizers but was told the kitchen closes at 8. Fair enough, but they are missing out on food sales that's for sure. Drinks took a little while which was ok as we weren't in a rush, but what bugged me, they come out while we were enjoying our drinks and mentioned its already time for last call for alcohol lol. It was 10:38!!! Their posted time to close is 12am WTH. I did notice quite a few customers walking in and out probably because of looking for food or at least a place to actually sit and drink without the fear of getting kicked out before the actual posted time. I totally understand getting cleared up and wanting to go home, but with the amount of people that were drinking and having a good time, they are missing out on a huge opportunity of people ordering more drinks. I appreciate the heads up on a last call, just not with an hour or more to go in my night. I have always liked this place, but it's really going downhill and for what they charge for drinks and food, we plan to look elsewhere for a place that is a little more professional and caring. Love this place! Located in Old Town Spring lots to do before or after your visit to Prohibition Texas. Old time chic , delicious food, great drinks, nice ambience and most of all great service! Holly and the team are great at working together and making sure everyone is taken care of to the utmost! Go with friends, family, or a date it's great for it all! Husband and I were out for a stroll and were recommended an hour later my brother in law and his kids joined and we all had a great time. Kids enjoyed their pizza, I had salmon cesar salad, and my husband had pork belly sandwich. And we also had spinach artichoke dip with fried pita. We went on a Saturday afternoon and other families as well as singles groups and couples were there and everyone was respectful and had a great time. Beer is locally brewed and depending on how busy they can run out of specifics. Your not going to a 5 star fine dining experience you are going there to have a beautiful time with friends and family and enjoy some drinks and good food. read more

Came here on a Friday night and was very disappointed. First, the pros/positive- The atmosphere and ambience were nice and the service was good. The starters/small plates were very tasty. Now the not so good- the sazerac and old fashioned were too sweet. The worst part was the ribeye. It was way too thin, salty and dry, especially for $20. My sig other had a pesto pasta dish and she indicated it was bland. In conclusion/summary, if you want to go sip some good whiskeys neat and have an appetizer/starter/small plate in a cool atmosphere then Prohibition is a cool spot. I just wouldn't go again for dinner. read more

Finally venturing to some of my favorites during these crazy times. Was looking forward to Thursday night Steak night, what a disappointment, wasn't very packed but the service was very slow, ok we were with good company so we endured. Then we were served, the steaks seemed like the ones that you buy in the parking lot white tents, that are cryo packed and frozen. Not very good, tough, tons of gristle, and not juicy at all. The wife and I had a steak dinner each, I had 2 stout drafts, the wife had 1 Dos X and a mixed drink, with tax and tip we walked out $102 lighter in the wallet. Used to be one of my favorites but will not be returning. Very sad about that. read more

Ok so I've gone to this wonderful place twice and each time just got better! Duane took care of us and was absolutely amazing, because we were upstairs which meant he was up and down the stairs all night! He could not have been more pleasant and was so cool!! It's a great place for a date or to meet friends for a drink. Oh and let's not forget the food because it's super tasty! You can lounge and have a cigar and drink too so this place is pretty awesome. Great place to stop for a drink right after a shopping trip to OldTown Spring. Started off with a "Southside" Sri k. It has Gin, simple syrup and mint. Nice refreshing and takes like a mojito martini. Next up was a "Berry Summer Mule". Refreshing libation with Vodka, Strawberry Shrub and Ginger beer. I'm not a cigar smoker but it has a cigar bar upstairs. The service is perfect and the music is a soft rock. I prefer jazz but this is good too. Cute ambiance but will have a Smokey smell. We come here a lot and have always noted that the service, especially at the bar, is lackluster but it's close and my husband loves the mixed drinks. I always feel like I'm bothering the bartender when we come and often it's hard to get their attention even though the bar top is tiny. Often it's hard for the bartender to even muster a smile. Came in for Valentine's Day dinner and made our reservation for 8:45. When we arrived there was no table available so we took a seat at the bar. We began to order an appetizer only to find out that the kitchen was closed at exactly 9:00. No one ever told us this.....even when taking our dinner reservations for 845. Come to find out they were more than an hour behind on food so meals were still coming out of the window well after 10pm but we were not allowed to order. We had a few drinks and left. I really want this place to make it and their drinks are great. Service needs a serious improvement. read more

Look I give lots of slack everywhere I go, but just trying to order our first cocktails and greeted with a weird rudeness. Not sure why either. It's like the staff absolutely hates their jobs.
