I went in…read morewanting just a hem, but after consulting with Coco, she suggested tightening up the shoulder seam so that the bust of my dress didn't sag as much. I had read the reviews before going to her, so I was aware of Coco delivering a day late on alterations. I went in on June 18th to get my dress altered, and Coco told me to come in on July 2nd to pick up my dress. On July 2nd, I actually called her beforehand to confirm that my dress would be ready. She asked me for my dress color and then said to come by any time before 5pm. My dress was not ready. I drove over, and Coco told me that she was still working on my dress. She also mentioned that the person who usually steams all the finished pieces had already left for the day, so she needed an additional day. I was fine with her needing extra time, but I wish she had said that over the phone before I made the drive. I thought that was inconsiderate, especially since I had already been proactive about calling beforehand to confirm that the dress could be picked up. Nonetheless, the alterations turned out nicely. The hem of the dress worked beautifully with the heels I chose, and the tightened shoulder seams made the dress fit much nicer. I felt so confident wearing this dress at my friend's wedding. The hem and shoulder seam adjustments totaled $80. I don't have a frame of reference for the average cost of alterations for formal attire, so I can't tell if it was reasonable. I would definitely recommend getting your clothes in earlier rather than later to accommodate for any potential delays.

All he had to do was cut the sleeves off so up the side and then reattach the sleeve. When I came in to pick it up, the sleeves were not cut, they're two different sizes, the neckline wasn't cut to size and I looked like the background dancers in the goofy movie with the broad shoulders. There's so much bunching in the top since I have smaller breast and I pointed that out on Monday and he just kept repeating "I cut where I pin" anyone can do that. So since he was only going to cut what he pins, which was not our initial discussion, I took the time to explain. Show him the video again. I made it a point to make sure that he was going to be able to do this the way that I wanted before dropping it off because I would've spent more time looking for places that were capable of following instructions. Thankfully, I recorded our conversation and reported it to the Better Business Bureau. They just kept repeating the same sentence over and over again to the point where I started yelling over them and they started calling me crazy because I didn't want them to "fix anything" and I wanted a refund. Still have a destroyed unwearable jersey and no refund.

Lana is so professional and amazing at her craft. I wasn't aware I could look so snatched until I met her skill in getting my dress to feel like a second skin. She is also so committed to making sure you're happy with what is happening towards your dress. She has a very good eye for noticing the best alterations to make, gives suggestions and explanations for why, but ultimately lets you decide how much work you want done. I'm a woman who likes having the variables and her ability to explain her process and ideas made it so easy for me to trust her. I also don't have the most flexible work schedule, but she worked with me to make sure I could squeeze in all my fittings so I could leave confident every time that my dress and I were going to look beautiful for my wedding. She even makes sure your dress is pressed and steamed before you take it home so you get that personal touch until the very last second. My bustle was also no joke and required so much work but she made it happen and it held up beautifully! Not only is she a master at alterations, but her and her team are experts at cleaning. I got married in the redwood forest in a light rain and my dress was soaked, dirty and covered in tree needles, but after her cleaning job you could barely tell I had hiked all sorts of distances for pictures! (Our reception was about a month after our ceremony) I was so pleased with her that I'm returning to her to alter my dress into a formal gown so that I can continue to wear the most expensive dress I will ever buy for years to come! read more

I cannot recommend Lana and her shop enough! From the very beginning, she was incredibly responsive and communicative, always answering my questions and keeping me updated throughout the process. A few weeks before my wedding, I found myself in a nightmare situation when my wedding dress was damaged. I was devastated, but Lana immediately stepped in and did everything she could to make it right. Despite the very short timeframe, she worked tirelessly to save my dress and somehow transformed what felt like a disaster into something beautiful. She also customized my reception dress and made it completely unique, adding special touches that made it feel truly one-of-a-kind. The craftsmanship and attention to detail were amazing, and I received so many compliments on both dresses throughout the night. What stood out most was how much she genuinely cared. She understood how important these dresses were to me and treated them with the same level of care and urgency that I would have. No words are enough to describe how grateful I am for Lana and Ms. Tinh. They are heaven-sent. They saved my wedding and brought my dream dress design to life. I love my dress so much, I wish I could wear it for every occasion. I had two horrible experiences with other bridal businesses before meeting them, and I met Lana and Ms. Tinh when I had only about 3 weeks left until my wedding!!! I was able to buy one of my favorite dresses from Rime Arodaky on sale a year early but only a few weeks before my wedding, I realized I wasn't going to be able to walk in it! I immediately started looking for alterations and Lana was the most professional and responsive person I spoke to. She was able to help me hem my dress and add a bustle for my reception in such short notice. Lana is not only an excellent seamstress but also a bride coach. She gave me lots of tips for my wedding and made sure my dress was perfect. She also makes beautiful French veils. Naturally, all the details were planned last minute but that was no issue for Lana. She came to the rescue and adjusted my dress as needed to ensure that it fit perfectly and comfortably. I booked a consultation to hem and bustle my wedding dress with Dorie. When I arrived she had me…read moreput the dress on, then immediately began pinning it to hem and bustle with no conversation about what I wanted or what it would cost. When they finished pinning, they asked me to dress and then we finally discussed price. I was quoted $800 and was asked to prepay in full, in cash or check. This was not mentioned before the appointment at all. When I said I was not ready to pay today, she showed me other clients' pre-paid invoices to encourage me and let me know that this is what she asks of everyone. I ended up leaving my dress with her and had to set a time to come back and drop off the cash. I talked with my mom about what happened on my way home from the appointment, as I felt a bit uneasy about what had just happened and she agreed with me. So, I contacted Dorie to tell her I'd like to come pickup my dress to get other quotes for the alterations. I stated I could come at our already scheduled time or sooner. What followed was several days of pushback, with messages about how many brides come back to her, screenshots of 5-star reviews, offers of a discount (which was not mentioned before) a "sleep on it, relax" message, and a follow-up offering to split payment in half (which I asked about and had been told that was not an option, it was prepay only). I picked up my dress without incident, there was another bride there so Dorie's husband helped me get my gown back into the garment bag. I thought that was that but received another review screenshot two days later, at which point I blocked her number. Too much of a hard sell for me. I've since found another seamstress who did a full consultation with me discussing price and options to figure out what I liked best, and making sure I did want to go forward with her services, before putting a single pin in my gown. This is what I was expecting to have happen with Dorie based on all the great reviews but that was not my experience.

They also offer alterations at similar pricing to my usual tailor (who charges fairly) - I did get a discount since a shipping delay resulted in my dress coming late which I greatly appreciated! The seamstress who worked on my dress was super sweet and experienced - the hem was perfect, the bodice fit so well I never worried about having to adjust my dress despite it being off-the-shoulder, and the American bustle held up super well (even me jumping around the dance floor couldn't do any damage). Their hours were a little unclear online and I had to wait a couple days for a response at times (usually because they were still waiting on something), but overall a wonderful experience!

We started off by browsing the store and picking a few dresses, and Huong also recommended a few as well based on my vision. My mom and sister had fun being able to go through the selection and suggest some dresses. I came in knowing I wanted to try on a specific dress and Huong made sure to find it for me! Throughout the whole process I felt so comfortable and supported by Huong. I just want to thank her for being so patient and kind to me. She helped me get in to each dress and never made me feel like I was a bother even though we tried on so many dresses! And she even saved the dress I came in to try on for last, just so that I could be sure that there wasn't something unexpected that I ended up liking. When I finally did try on the one, I felt so relieved that I finally found my dress! Also side note, this was actually a rescheduled appointment because I had a family emergency happen the day before my first appointment, but they were so kind, understanding, and even remembered it the day of my rescheduled appointment weeks later.
