Without a doubt the most PROFESSIONAL mechanic/shop I have ever been too. Called them Monday afternoon, they took me first thing next morning. They inspected my car and told me everything it needed. I only ended up getting new tires along with an alignment that I all desperately needed. Very fair pricing. Love the notes they gave me in my vehicle for all the remaining things my vehicle still needs. Very friendly service. Great attention to detail. Cannot speak highly of my first experience. I needed to have my car inspected, and was turned away unceremoniously by another well-known auto shop. I did a Google search and found Professional Automotive, 2 minutes from my home. I was greeted by Rick who was very friendly and helpful. Within minutes, he took my keys and registration. I have been going to Professional Automotive for about 6 years now and have never had a negative experience. They are honest and always willing to explain things thoroughly to me. I never feel like they are taking advantage of me, as I have felt in the past with other mechanics. I recently purchased a brand new vehicle and had an extremely disappointing experience with the service team at the dealership (Herb Connolly Hyundai Framingham) it was so bad that I will not even return for the free oil change that was offered to me. I called Professional Automotive on a Monday and scheduled a test for Wednesday. The whole time I explained to them that the alternator was new and was most likely not the root cause of the problem even if it was damaged at this point. I dropped my car off on Tuesday night and by 8:10AM on Wednesday they called stating I had a bad alternator and a replacement would be $931(I will say they later claimed labor would be included in this cost, but at this point I wouldn't trust it). I told them again this was not the root cause and asked if they performed the tests I requested. Paul claimed they did and saw no fault, which is strange because they had performed it so quickly. Letting him know I didn't believe this, he immediately claimed I was not a right fit for them(he'll try to blame this on warranty on the part, but you can change mechanics and the warranty still applies: https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0138-auto-warranties-routine-maintenance#do) I now had to schedule a tow knowing that they couldn't solve my problems. When I jumped my car the previous night, I left the positive terminal cap off and when I showed up and looked under the hood of the car in the same spot it was still off, making me think they actually did nothing with it. I believe I was being lied to the whole time and was explaining this. Paul claimed that I "wasn't listening" and that "he's an expert" and when I kept calling him out on current draws he was providing(parasitic leakage of .15A being OK by him), he walked away and stuck his tongue out at me, I guess this is his view of professional. At that point, I started yelling saying he was lying to his customers. He threatened to call the cops and I told him to do so because not only had I not done anything wrong, but I already had my tow there and was in the process of leaving. The cops didn't end up coming, I guess it was just another lie. If you want honest work on your car, stay away from this place. I had my car towed here because my car wouldn't start. They said the problem was a faulty fuel pump which would cost over a thousand dollars. I asked if they could put a used one in because I don't plan on having the car much longer, they said no. I needed my car finished sooner than later so I gave the OK to fix it. When I picked up my car it died in the middle of the street right before I got home. I called them immediately and they sent up a mechanic who put fuel in my car, still no start. They refunded my money and I had to have it towed to another place. At the other place I was told that Professional Automotive overcharged me by at least 200.00 for the fuel pump and they weren't sure why they would give me such an astronomical price since the vw dealership sells them for much less. I do not recommend going here. The problem ended up being a gasket on the fuel line which was under 300.00 to fix! read more

I called on a Friday evening before closing to see if I could get and inspection over the weekend since my sticker was expired. They offered me and 8am appointment on Saturday and I gladly took it. I was amazed to see how clean and comfortable the waiting room was! Did not smell like a garage. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. I have been coming here for 4 years. Paul and Rick are great, very honest and upfront. They are thorough in looking over car and give a heads up when future things might go. They only do what you approve and needs to be done. They are not the cheapest but also not the most expensive. I didn't have the most extensive repair work done, but a flat tire on a busy Saturday afternoon definitely felt stressful. I called and they told me to come right over to see if it could be repaired. I was in and out in ~20 minutes and they even noticed my inspection was due this month and took care of that for me. The guys there are friendly, professional, courteous, nice, honest, etc. They gave me options. They gave me suggestions with reasons why and why not. Half the time the suggestions were the less expensive options as it was better for me as the client. They type of place that says "if it was my truck, I would do..." and they meant it. My 2014 Subaru Outback developed an issue that made the car "buck/surge". During a mandatory service for a recall, I had Village Subaru of Acton check the bucking issue, along with a few other smaller repairs I would like to have fixed. Admittedly they didn't perform a full service, but with a quick look over they advised the bucking could be a transmission repair and quoted me (along with the other items) 8k. I knew that didn't sound correct and took it to a garage that didn't do repairs and they too felt I should have it looked by someone else. Fortunately, I found Professional Automotive in Marlboro online, called and chatted with Paul, who was very professional and actually listened to my concerns, set up a reasonable appointment and offered me a free loaner car. They not only confirmed it wasn't the transmission, but that a few of the other items the Subaru service dept told I would probably need was not correct either. And they did find something that needed to done as well. All said in done, they had the car up and smoothly running the day after I dropped it off and it feels better than ever. Oh and it cost $1650.00 for all the work I had done (a far cry from the quoted 8k which I never would have paid). I've spent a lot of money on mine and my son's car, trying to keep them running in this bad economy and in the last few years it's been mostly spent at Professional Automotive. While I can't find any fault with the work they've done, I'm extremely disappointed by recent attitudes and bad treatment. We all have bad days, but when you run a business you have to put that away. Several times I've noticed a barely concealed attitude, but my poor son felt the brunt of it the last time he was there. We will not be back and we will not recommend this business. If they don't have time for one customer, then two customers have no time for them. read more

I thought there was something majorly wrong with my car so I set up an appointment for a diagnostic. When I arrived Scott got in my car and we drove around a bit so he could get a better sense of what I was trying to describe with drivability issues. Left my car for a diagnostic and they fully checked out my car and to my surprise there were no major issues! They even fixed a minor fender well which they included for free in the diagnostic. Paul at the front desk gave me a breakdown of a few things I should consider getting fixed in the near future and told me that there was no reason to get them done now as it was not going to be a drivability or safety issue. They were by far the most recommended in the area.They have always done an excellent job diagnosing and maintaining my car or truck. They were close to where I worked and since my job has relocated I travel the 40 miles when I need anything more serious than an oil change or sticker.
