My previous place I used for car inspections in Leominster was no longer doing car them so I had to find a new place this year. I chose Maynard Motors because of the positive reviews and the fact that it's family owned. I was not disappointed. I called ahead to ask if there was a wait and the phone was promptly answered which is always a good thing. Was told I'd "be first in line if I came now." Got there in 20 minutes and I was indeed first in line. There was no one at the front desk so after the button was pushed for assistance someone came over quickly asking how they could help me. After giving my registration, keys and the money they started on my car inspection. Less than 15 minutes later they were done and had my car pulled up for me ready to go! Not a major service call for my first time with Maynard Motors but they were fast, efficient and polite which will keep me coming back. read more

I've been in Maynard only a few years and probably used every mechanic within 2 miles of my home ( Main St ) . Three times I needed " emergency " repairs that cost between $500 and $1000 and all three times , I was taken in within 24 hrs and completed. The reason I am writing is because the cost of repair was equal or less to competition. The service manager(s) called with estimate before doing the work and explained in detail what was going on . They always drove me home and came to get me when job was complete . It's covid 19 time and people are reluctant to giving rides ... well, I just had an exhaust repair to pass inspection and Steve Jones, the owner , personally drove me home and came and got me ..now that is impressive customer service read more

I only got an oil change and state inspection done, but I can't say too much more or justifiably give 5 stars (yet). But, over the phone and in person I found Mark to be very personal be and down to Earth. The place has been in operation 30 years and is what seems to be a real Maynard institution. It all feels very homey. Anyhow, Mark asked me for a wish time for completion of their work. At 8:45 am, with 9 cars already on the lifts, I said 1 pm. They were done by 11:30 am. That was awesome. My wife says the oil change is about the same cost as at Jiffy Lube for synthetic oil. Seems fair, especially to support a local business. Uh, yeah - we are going back. read more

Needed to get rid of an old 2004 Ford Focus and look for another car. My family and I have been going to Maynard Motors for years and we never have a problem and everyone is super honest and nice. I was told they have a small but good selection of nice clean and low mileage cars. Went to the lot and saw a couple options and even explored other dealerships in the area, but none could beat Maynard Motors' deals. I was told they go to auctions and try to buy cars that have been on a lease from dealerships, so they know the maintenance and know it is being well kept. Ended up getting a 2015 Toyota Corolla model L for $13,675 with 16,000 miles. No problems noticed with the test drive. Bought the car and they gave it and oil change, new brakes, and replaced a dirty rear view mirror. Since the car was a base model it did not come with a keyless entry. I made a comment on how it would be nice to have it installed, but I knew it would probably be an extra $500. Picked up my car and they had it installed for NO CHARGE and with a remote start. A week in to the car I noticed the front speakers were fading in and out. I made an appointment and although it was not coverage in the warranty, they replaced both front speakers for free! It has been a month in and nothing has been wrong with the car besides the speakers. Very happy with my purchase and all of the help the guys were. I mostly worked with Steve for the purchase of the car and Mark helped with some questions I had. Would recommend to others looking for a well taken car of used car. read more

I'd been going to these guys for years, always a decent price and an honest location as far as garages go. Then my wife's car got a flat, went to Maynard Motors to get fixed, no problems right? WRONG! I get the car back, no problems, easy fix. End of story... A week later I have to take that wheel off to swap out old break pads, an easy job I do myself all the time. Every wheels comes off no problem except the one Maynard Motors put on. ALL 5 lugs are cross threaded. Some tech went slap happy with a impact wrench and cranked the lugs on causing permanent damage to the lug bolts. Trying to take them off, I snap 2 clean off with little force. I call Maynard motors to explain I now have an undrivable car and they have to get this fixed ASAP. Their response, "Maybe sometime next week, we are busy". No apology for crappy workmanship and my wife is out a car for god knows how long. This is a non-starter as my wife works and needs that car. I call back and get the same "don't care not my problem" response. I end up taking the car to the dealer, needing a AAA tow as the one wheel is now only barely on. $100 the wheel is fixed and Maynard Motors has lost a loyal customer. Using an impact wench to torque the hell out of lugs is the sign of a sloppy shop... being busy is no excuse. read more

I first visited these guys about six years ago when they were at the Maynard Mobil. My truck was making an odd noise that was getting worse by the day. I brought it in and expected to pay through the nose. They called 3 hours later and said I needed a new U joint (whatever that is) and It would be $89.00 for everything. The truck has been doing great since. Whenever I need anything from tires to an inspection sticker I go there. See Steve Jones, he's the best. read more

Many thanks to Steve and Mark and all the gang at Maynard Motors. They have been faithfully maintaining my old jalopies for years now. It was my daughter that insisted we buy our next car from Maynard Motors. A friend of hers had wonderful service buying two used cars from Maynard Motors (MM), so I gave my daughter some questions to ask before she agreed to buy anything and off she went to MM. They found her a nice 2015 Corolla with just under 16,000 miles, for below blue-book value. When she asked for 2 remotes, they got her 2 remotes and threw in remote start capability too, for free!! MM put on new rotors and pads without us asking (no charge), and adjusted the rear drums They even offered to run back and forth with the insurance company, but my daughter took care of that. Immediately upon pulling into our driveway with the "new-to-her" 2015 Corolla, she locked all keys and remotes in the car. LOL. She was very embarrassed...but I called MM and they sent a nice guy out to our house ASAP with a lock-smith kit to open the locked car. What service! MM went far, far above and beyond what any OEM dealership would have done. And this is all on top of being honest, straight-shooting mechanics that work on all makes and models, all years. My Dad bought a new 1966 (?) Dodge Polara wagon from that location decades ago, when it was called Great Road Dodge. I guess that says something about longevity and taking care of your customers, eh? I have been a regular customer; my car is having power steering issues and I made an appointment for my day off work to get an oil change and have it checked out. My car was there 7:30 to 4PM and they didn't diagnose the issue - or call to tell me they couldn't get to it. I called them - and on the phone, they talked about maybe having to "replace the steering column or maybe reprogramming the computer"; the first one sounds like nonsense - but it was followed up by saying they couldn't do any of that work at Maynard Motors and go to a dealership. So I ended up out of a car for a day no further along in resolving my problem and booking a second day at the dealership. Taking the day off from work is not easy for me and I would have thought with an appointment booked in advance and leaving it with them for the day that they would have given more attention; end story - next time around I'm going to the dealership and skipping these guys who only delivered on an all-day oil change. Might cost more but they'll work on my car. read more

I went to just get my 2 front handles on my suv tightened couldn't get into my vehicle at the end of the day go to pickup my suv everyone standing around the truck 4 people mind yeah still wasn't done 3/1/2 hrs. Later 300.00 and now they broke my inside handle not good snorty attitudes and charge too much money then brake something and not finish!!! read more

At the suggestion of a local repair shop, I took my vehicle to Maynard Motors for MA inspection. Never had an issue, never failed. Car is 10 years old. Of course it was rejected. Why? Because the guy said one of the license plates was starting to fade and needs to be replaced. Failed the car under the "SAFETY TEST" for a slightly (and I mean.......SLIGHTLY) faded plate on the front of the car. What a joke. Sure you can get the plates replaced by mail, which will take 14-16 weeks while driving around with an out-of-date rejection sticker on the window. Or, I can blow off a half day's work to go into an RMV site to get new plates (not the same plate # mind you, totally new plates). I will NEVER go to this place for anything again. Completely ignorant decision to fail the vehicle for this joke of a reason, with no consideration at all for the time that I now need to spend to get it resolved. Can't wait to go back for my "passed" inspection sticker and let them know exactly how I feel. If you want to get treated with a little consideration and decency, don't bring your vehicle here. read more

I went to Maynard Motors to pick up U Haul boxes. When I parked, I hit the curb and totally destroyed my tire. I looked up, and to my surprise, I saw they are also a tire dealer. Mark saw what had happened and immediately came to my assistance. They ordered me a tire to match mine, put on my spare, and 3 hours later I went back. My new tire was in and they installed it. I met all of the people who work there and every one of them is friendly, nice and knowledgeable. They really went above and beyond! I am moving, but will return there for tires! I wish I had know about them sooner! read more

I was calling around to find a cargo van or truck to rent. Maynard Motors is a U-Haul dealer. First I was put on hold for about ten minutes. I though that he was checking availability but it turns out he was on another call. I explained what i wanted a second time. He had a truck available, although larger than I wanted. He explained that I would not be charged for Sunday if I returned it Sunday (it had to be there when they opened Monday) because they are closed Sundays, but if i was in an accident and could not get the vehicle back on time i would be charged an extra day. I thought that was fine, but then asked "What if the truck breaks down?" He said the same thing. I said in an even tone "That's not reasonable, it's on me if I get in an accident, but it's your truck and you maintain it. That's not reasonable to charge extra if it breaks down and I can't get it back." He said "well, then, try Budget, and HUNG UP ON ME. Rude, rude, rude. And thanks for steering me to Budget. read more
