From the moment I saw the bottles of nail polish, I knew I was in trouble. They looked old and the color wouldn't shake up properly. My pedicure was OK. Callus remover was great, massage would've been better without rubber gloves and maybe some hot oil like it said it'd have. She put lotion on once and then rubbed my legs raw. I could've looked beyond this stuff if it hadn't been for how she painted my toes; rushed and uneven. I thought maybe it was the polish itself so I asked for another color. It was just as bad except this time she was mad and definitely talking about me to the other lady who laughed and smiled at me. I have never seen anyone brush on polish the way she did. Everyone in here is really nice, the space is clean and they do really good work with both gel mani and regular polish pedis (I usually get both or just one or the other) BUT....... EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I come in here they try to charge me a different price for the same services I get week by week or month by month. I just went yesterday and asked for a $34 pedi (package "B") plus a regular gel mani which said $20 on their menu on the board and they charged me $61?! I'm working with a pretty dialed in budget so walking in with a certain amount of money and being charged something different at the register I feel is totally wrong. I was running an errand in the area and decided to try them out a few days ago. That experience went well. I got a pedicure and gel manicure. It wasn't too busy for a Thursday afternoon and I got take care of right away. It was a little higher than usual but since the results were great I didn't think much of it. If that isn't good enough, last night I took a slight trip and ruined my pretty pedicure only a day after!! I came in this morning and explained what happened and they took care of me right of way. This place is AMAZING! They've recently redone the look and it is so bight and inviting. I got my first ever pedicure here last fall and have been hooked ever since. The staff is so helpful. I have some ingrown toenails that have gotten so much better since coming here. I've tried a few other places but can't find anywhere that is as accommodating and welcoming. I was dancing around the 2-star rating but after reading my own review, how could I not give them 1 star? I took my bride-to-be friend here the day before her wedding to get our nails did. They were able to immediately accommodate us, so that's a plus. We hot tailed it over to the massage chairs for our spa mani/pedis. The massage chair was the highlight of my visit. I had a hard core knot in my shoulder after being hunched over making flower arrangements all day. Thankfully, it felt A-OK after some kneading and chopping in the massage chair. I announced that my friend was getting married and her nail techs took great care of her french manicure mani/pedi. For this visit, that was all the mattered to me. Unfortunately the careful treatment ended there... The biggest irritation/disappointment was that my nail tech seriously cut my cuticles open... bleeding... on 3 fingers on the same hand. OUCH! You'd think you'd be more careful after cutting the 1st finger, but I guess 3rd time's the charm for these ladies. I'm telling you, there was a decent amount of blood aflowin'. She used some blue serum to stop the bleeding, but no apologies or acknowledgement of the slicing and dicing. I think my nail tech just wanted to go home for the day. 2 days later, the cuts are now clearly visible, swollen, and threatening infection. Thanks a bunch! Despite the fact that they did a good job with my friend, I can't imagine paying these people or risking getting mauled ever again. Besides that, my single color nail polish application was subpar, at best. One hand got a thicker application than the other. Even hours after application, the slightest touch left indentations in the polish. Some nails on the other hand look like they only got one coat of polish. On the upside - no problems with the pedicure. The pricing: A spa mani/pedi costs $26 ($25 for non-spa.) $5 for french manicure. $5 for callous removal. This place is extremely close to home, so it's a shame that I'd be scared to give them another shot. Oh well, good thing there's a nail joint on every corner. Pass up Professionail and go somewhere else. read more

When I lived in California I was a regular. Every two weeks Acrylic back & tip fill. Ask for "B". He is amazing! He will listen to you and ask you what you want and won't do anything you don't like and WILL correct mistakes or something you don't like if you don't tell him. I STILL have not found a nail place like them in my new state of Hawaii. Every time I go back to visit my mom they are always on my list to visit! Their prices are sometimes out there for certain things and if you get one of the older ladies for a pedicure, she will try and change the prices on you. Just refer back to the list on the wall and tell her specifically what you want and no thank you to anything thing else. Those older ladies grew up in markets and try to negotiate and swindle you for all you can pay for for your feet lol. That is why only 4 stars You really get to know them if you become a regular. One early Saturday evening last month my BF and I were headed to a get-together for some of his oldest and dearest friends in Long Beach. On the way to the party, he looked down at my open-toed shoes in mock-horror. "You didn't..." He looked at me, disappointed. Mortified, I hung my head In shame. "I'm sorry! I didn't have time!" See, i was wearing these adorable open-toed Michael Kors wedges and had promised him that I would do something about my ratchet toes (and fingernails) before that day. Unfortunately, I had not had the time to get to my local nail salon (I live in Culver City) and we are already halfway to the party. We got off the 405 at bellflower and I said, "Do we have time to go right now?" He looked down at my toes and back at me, nodded and said, "We have time." We drove around looking for nail salons, and the first two we went to were both closed for the day (it was only 6:15!) Then we found Professionails, next to the Lowe's on Bellflower, close to the 405 freeway. I walked in and was welcomed by the manager, Bi. "Yes, of course, we are open!" He said, cheerfully. "Pick out your color." I told him I needed a mani pedi, STAT. "Okay. Hannah will do your toes and Vee will do your nails." He said, and led me over to two smiling angels, who immediately got to work. "Hmmm," Vee clucked "your cuticle grow a lot." Hannah, preoccupied with the formidable task before her, stayed focused and said nothing. My boyfriend, Adrien, entered the shop. Bi invited him to sit in the chair next to mine, and even encouraged him to use the massage feature, despite the fact that he wasn't going to be getting anything done. Adrian smiled, leaned back in the chair and napped peacefully while Hannah and Vee continued their feverish labor in the salt-mines of my appendages. Within half an hour, my feet and hands were polished, buffed, massaged and bedazzled. My nails were SPECTACULAR! I no longer had paws, I had the glamorous hands of a celebrity!
