Overall= 3.5 out of 5 stars I have been to ProAbition a few times and have come out satisfied. The place has a great selection of drinks that is sure to catch anyone's attention. The food is great and you can enjoy a stroll through downtown Riverside once you are done. Exterior= 4 out of 5 stars Downtown Riverside is a great area for you to take a stroll. The area where ProAbilition is central to everything and resembles a smaller version of San Jose, Ca. There are plenty of amenities and it is close by to the Mission Inn. For those of you that don't know about the Mission Inn, it's a historic Spanish style hotel that is worth the trip. There are additional amenities like restaurants, bars, spas, and more that people can take advantage of. Keep in mind that there can be several panhandlers but nothing to worry about. Interior= 3 out of 5 stars I believe that the general theme is geared towards the prohibition era. Thinks velvet (done tactfully), old style, Edison style lights, and similar items. Forgot to take pictures. Overall, I definitely like the environment. Service= 4 out of 5 stars We had a party of 12 people that are probably the most excessive and demanding people that you could find. Our waitress managed to meet the needs of each person without freaking out or show an ounce of stress. Major kudos on the service. Food= 3 out of 5 stars Portabello Mushroom Fries - This item jumped straight out of the menu for me since they are my absolute favorite! Not greasy and the breading was excellent but it seems that the portabella mushroom fries could have used less of them. Proabition Burger with Garlic Fries - After a long day of meetings, a person craves a simple burger and this one was great, but I have had better. Visited this location for Sunday Brunch and ordered the Poke Ahi and the Pork Belly Chilaquiles delicious I must say. The bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Mary's for just $20 dollars is a deal you can't beat. This is my favorite place to have brunch. The waitresses are super nice and attentive. They always ask if you're doing ok or if you would like anything else, but not in an annoying way...in a way that you knew they genuinely wanted to know if everything was going well. I would recommend the bottomless mimosas. These are delicious and strong! I would almost run out and the waitress would top me off without me having to tell her. My friend had a burger and I ate an omelette. The portions were big and the food was on point. I came here for brunch two months ago and it was fantastic! Service was great, food was great, atmosphere was lovely, but when I came here a week and a half ago with my dad and sister it was a bummer. The menu changed (apparently new chef) I was so bummed, plus the service sucked! My sister ordered a burger, because the brunch plate she wanted was no longer and it said it had arugula... lol it was spinach. Came here during the Festival of Lights in December so there was a long wait to get a table as a walk-in (which was expected). Loved the blue cheese tots and California Dreamin cocktail. Held a 30-person brunch this past Sunday and the attendees enjoyed themselves completely. The food, music and attentive service of Brian, our dedicated server were great. Unlimited Mimosas are always a treat for our Beautiful Brown Girls Brunch Club. I'm so glad we found a restaurant to accommodate our group this month... not many can in the IE. I have been to Prohibition multiple times and have always had an amazing experience. Today 1/10/2921 was very different. We had a short wait of about 29 mins and were finally sat. My date ordered the Mobster , and I ordered the chicken and waffles. Her food came out cold and the eggs were hard and rubbery. My waffles came out black and hard and even showed the manager that I couldn't cut it with a knife. After finally getting the manager to our table, she put in an order for some fresh eggs that came out after 10 mins, and server her some "fresh" bacon carried in her hand on a paper napkin. I finally got a new waffle. Finally got out check and it was full priced. My date stated that the the manager agreed to take off $10 for the eggs. $77.56 later and I will never go back. They stated they hired a new cook 1 month ago. And this event concluded when I got home having diarrhea. Wouldn't recommend this place except as a colon cleanse. read more

So I never give poor reviews (3 stars is pretty poor) but this is our second time here and this time we were not satisfied. So I make reservations way in advance as per the bartenders recommendation (the first time we came here it was for drinks) we get here and they tell us oh we aren't taking reservations currently. Um well we made them online and they went through with no issues so wth. We get seated which is good. Our party wasn't too thrilled with the attitude we got from the hostesses. Sorry reservations were made and the right thing to do is to accommodate us, so thank you for giving us a table after the eye rolling and what not. We order our drinks, takes no joke almost 20-30mins to actually get them. 15mins after that we finally get to order food. 25mins later food comes out. We requested to get appetizers first but that didn't work out. Food and drink was great, and that's pretty much the only reason why I gave them 3 stars. After eating and only one round of drinks we were given the check. So I guess that meant bye bye. So we ended up leaving. All in all, food was good, service sucked. read more

My mom and I decided to try this place out.. We had been talking about this era and figured lets give it a try. The establishment is not very large, but the decor is very of the time, the staff is also dressed in the period. We were hoping to get a glimpse of the live music/mini stage but were seated in an awkward place. The menu is pricey for what you get, but the drinks are good. I think this is where their specialty is; in the cocktails and not the food. The server was not the friendliest and seemed non existent, and the chicken was extremely dry. The noise level is moderate to loud and you can't hear a conversation at the table. Parking is difficult near the establishment. Try to get a booth, those are the best seats. Seating anywhere else proves to be ignored. The drinks made up for mostly everything else thus providing the average vs poor rating. Just a let down. There seemed to be an outlaw on service vs alcohol from that era. Dry chicken and a dry experience. read more

Terrible customer service.....My friend and I went here. We stood in line for 15 minutes, a tall , bald overweight guy came out spoke to tbe 2 couples in front of us. 1 couple went in. The other couple was instructed to go down the way to the Lounge, until they got every one out to open the club. He then squeezed past us,, didn't acknowledge us, past us and told two other ladies to go to the lounge also. He then stood at the corner playing with his phone. When the bouncer came out, he too was going to pass us up but stopped and asked what was going on and why were ignored. My boyfriend and I just stopped in here to get a drink and wait out the rain. We ended up getting the ceviche though which was pretty good. I found it a little fishy but when you eat with the onion it doesn't taste fishy at all. It did have a lot of fish though which was nice. It would be nice though if they gave you more of the wonton chips to go with it. The drinks we had were also really good. I had the spicy whiskey sour which was amazing! Overall this place is a great place for a good drink. I loved the 20s theme and vibe. Came for brunch and was happy with the selection. I got the stuffed French toast- flavorful but really rich. I love the theme and feel of the place. They even had a little Charlie Chaplin film playing in the background. Oh and there was live music when I went. A guy was doing covers. Really nice. My biggest problem with the place was the service was really slow, and it wasn't even crowded when I went. It took too long for them to fulfill a simple request like get a to-go box. I can honestly say I will never go back to this bar again. I had no problem with the $52.00 reservation hold for me and my party back in April. However this refundable charge was never credited back to my credit card. I called the establishment several times asking to speak with a manager. I kept getting they'll call you back needless to say never received call. Finally had to contact my credit card company to credit the charge. Then low and behold 2 months later they recharged the same fee. Luckily again my credit card company credited me back. Proabition has lost future customers because I've let all my friends and family know about the service and difficultly of resolving the issue. read more

Went by yesterday and my husband and I loved it. We went for Brunch. Lots of yummy options. I got the Surf and Turf Eggs Benedict. So good! Also had bottomless Mimosas. There was a DJ playing music that just made it even easier to feel happy and spend a good time. Waitress was super nice and attentive. So my girlfriend, Double Dee drove in from Arizona for a concert at the Fox near here. She arrived in a bad mood. We arrived at the venue early so we walked over to this establishment for something to eat. We only wanted something lite. Double Dee ordered fish tacos while i ordered bleu cheese tots. Once seated, I proceeded to check in with yelp. To my surprise, there was a coupon for guess what? Bleu cheese tots. I showed this our waitress and she deducted for our bill. This bar/restaurant specializes in whiskey. In an effort get Double Dee to "loosen up", I suggested she sample some whisky. She scanned the drink menu and selected what's called whisky girl. Three shots. Not wanting to drink on a empty stomach, she waited for her food. Her food came and she ate taco number one then drank shot one, then taco two, shot two, taco 3, shot 3. I am so very disappointed. I remember coming here a few years back and thinking the food was decent. We came here on a Friday night and ordered some items. We were served cold fries. I told them about it--they asked if we wanted another batch of fries, but we have tater tots coming so we would just eat that when it came. It came cold also. I don't understand it, are your warmers not working? Then we had the seafood linguini, which looked so basic. The chucks of salmon were cubed 1 inch, with 6 muscles on the plate. There was way too much pasta for that meal. Looks aside, it didn't taste amazing. We also got poke which really was the only thing good we ordered. It wasn't cooked, so many that's why. read more

I visited this establishment for the first time in July for a family 21st bday dinner. This was the worst experience I ever had at a restaurant. We all got food poisoning and were sick for 2 days. I reached out to the management as well as corporate and no one cared to get back to me till a month later. When getting back to me they said they found no wrong doing ( which was odd when it took a month to get back to me with any response ). The tried offering a gift card to revisit and I told them why would I come back when my entire dinner party got food poisoning from your food. No response from them after. I DO NOT recommend this place, management service is horrible, they show no concern for their customers after being told there was an issue. Im moving forward with action due yo the company's Lack of concern for what happened. Do NOT visit this restaurant. Gave this place 2 stars. Atmosphere and location are fun for drinks and a good place to meet up. Alcohol selection is not what you would expect but has the basics. Here is my reason for only giving it 2 stars. Food was subpar at most. Ordered chicken and waffles and can honestly say I've had better chicken at Dennys. Next up was the heart attack burger. Meat had no flavor so you can tell it had been frozen a long time. To add injury to insult my bun was soggy from all the juices flowing out. Mind you this was before I even bit in to it. Last up was the eggs Benedict. Have to say it was decent but for the amount we paid I would have expected more. Service was not bad but this place really needs an overhaul of its menu and management. The drink I got was good but I wish that this place did a better job in communicating their hours of operation. The hours on Yelp is not accurate. I came to Riverside for a conference. My coworkers and I have tried to come here twice. On Tuesday at 9 pm when we tried to go there for dinner, there was a sign at the door that says "drinks only". On Thursday, we got there right before 10 pm. We ordered one drink then was told that it was last call. The interesting thing was that they did not put a sign on the door that tell people that they were closed nor did they lock the door. And so was the pork belly that we ordered as an appetizer . I didn't like that the double sided menu had brunch titled at the top of one side but when we ordered smokehouse burgers from the brunch side of the menu all the way around the waiter came back to tell us the chef is only preparing brunch. Dined here and we had new york steak and flat iron. Meat was very tender and very well cooked. Flavor was not as great unfortunately. Love the safety measures taken for Covid (social distancing) but since peoe have to dine outside, just be mindful that you will be swatting a lot of flies throughout the evening. Been here a few times and usually great service and food, but this time for Valentines Day though we had a horrible experience. We made reservations way in advance, but when we got there they tried to upsale on a burlesque show for 180 more, we said no thank you... just wanted our regular reservation, and it almost was like we were punished for it. They ended up putting us at a table squished in between two other couples- like close enough to might as well been eating together at one big table. We had to interupt the other table just to get out. lol it was hella awkward. On top of that though the food came out over an hour after we ordered, was Luke warm, and mediocre. Service came around maybe every 20-25 min, and just wasn't great. I don't know what happened or what they were trying, but you had a lot of upset customers.... probably don't go that route again? 3 stars only for previous experiences which were good, with great food. As a day-date location, this place had a busy welcoming vibe that made my jitters seem less present.
