Ive been a long time customer at pro nails. over time, the service has declined. I stopped booking appointments and would just do walk ins because I would end up waiting anyways. If I asked for how I wanted something done, I would be questioned as if I shouldn't do it the way I wanted. For example, I would ask for an (American) French tip and would be told I should just get clear because what's the point. Today, I had such a bad experience I won't be going back. My nail technician kept hurting me and I let her know. she's an older lady and her hands were shaking the whole time. She was cutting off too much off the sides of my nails and my cuticals. I flinched involuntarily and my foot kicked up, she scoffed at me... The side of my big toe was bleeding. Not a lot, but it was from cutting too much off the side and she tugged on my nail for it to detach from my skin. Its going to be irritable while it grows out. I did not get an apology and she acted like she was annoyed with me. From there I said, please do whats needed to finish and I won't be getting paint anymore. It takes a lot to make me feel uncomfortable to go back somewhere and not tip. Especially when someone's touching my feet and legs, I want it to be a good experience for me and the other person. I have had good experiences and there are good nail techs there, but I've had one too many bad experiences to give them my service again. read more

It is not a good thing to see your own blood during a pedicure. Which has happened to me more than once here. The last time it took a month for my big toe to heal. Fortunately, no scar. There is no way I'm going back here after they tore my big toe open and acted like nothing had happened. Took quite a while for the bleeding to stop. No bandaid either. read more

Very sanitary. Barriers between customer and nail tech during manicures. Asked us to wash our hands and sanitize before coming in. They were super nice, and my calves/feet feel BLESSED. Would recommend and will be returning in the future. read more

Not impressed! Went in to get a quick fill because my original/best nail tech @ Artistic nails went out of country to visit family for holidays. I had up instruct the tech at Pro nails to pick off all acrylic and ensure she got the air pockets. She did a half job and low and behold; 2 weeks later when I go to get my fill and take off polish I have 4 nails with fungus! Smh! Never again Pro Nails! read more

Please, do not go here. I have been getting my nails done for years. Acrylics, gel, and regular polish. I decided to go here and within 5 days my GEL polish was coming OFF. Never have i experienced this. Gel polish is made to last 2-3 weeks. Not to mention when i went in asking how much do they do gel polish there , the lady told me 25. When it was time to pay she told me it was $45!! When I asked her why she told me in the beginning it would be 25 and is now charging me 45 her only response was "It's $45." Like WHAT?! At least be honest from the gecko. This is why i asked previously what the cost was. Or i would have just gotten acrylics with that price! All in all super frustrating and i will never be going back. I used to go here for yeeears and they were always so good, recognized me, and very kind. Since they've moved down the University Mall, service has declined. They don't respect appointments, I made a noon appointment, was on time (even early) and I still had to wait 30 min because they let two walk-ins go before me. I asked for a $20 pedicure for myself and $30 for my husband. We have gone to other places and paid less than $50 for the both of us and got much better service. We ended up paying $85 for the both of us because the lady said I told her I wanted the MOST expensive pedicures, not the LEAST. My husband's feet barely look any better. Called the day before and made appointments for 3 of us and requested that we sit together. Got there for our appointments and all the chairs were full and we had to wait. Finally after waiting almost 15 minutes I was seated but my friends were still waiting. Another 10 minutes pass then they are finally seated but at the opposite end of the other row of chairs. When one of my friends said something, the old man who seemed to be in charge just laughed. When she said it wasn't funny he and the old lady both laughed. Very rude. Will not be going back. I don't care how good the pedicures are when you have an appointment you should not have to wait while they seat walk ins ahead of you. Customers should be treated with respect. read more

The worst manicure ever. The nail technician was distracted watching television and buffed my nail down to a bloody nailbed. I've lived in Alaska my whole life (28 years). I could never find a place that seemed clean enough and was affordable compared to the prices in the states. I Loved my experience here! I went on a Sunday about 2 weeks ago about 30 minutes after it opened and got service right away. Thao did my pedicure and she made sure she cleaned it all (no shortcuts) and the massage was lovely. I usually hate massages at nail salons but I actually enjoyed it to where I started to snooze off. The Pedicure cost about $30.00. I ended up give $20 tip because she did such a great job! I was impressed that a regular pedicure took 45 minutes at a time when the business was steadily busy. I only waited a minute or two for service and never felt rushed during the entire visit. My go-to pedicure place in Anchorage. The foot massages are THE BEST and they go to town on ragged cuticles (yes, they have power tools)! This salon has too many stations and is over crowded! The nail polish selections are old and they didn't have a good selection. I was horrified when the nail technician took out a Craftsman tool to file down the top of nails!!!! I asked if the tools had been sanitized because I did not see them come out of a sanitized bag. She said yes. Aren't the board nail files supposed to be thrown out? I tried to read the nail inspection form but the date was faded out. This place is gross and I'm never going back!!!! read more

Very inconsistent service here. I've had maybe two good experiences out of five, and today it was awful. To begin, the technician didn't ask if I wanted a regular or deluxe pedicure (deluxe!), and she was perfunctory in performing every aspect of the service. She did give a decent leg massage - my favorite part - but it didn't last long enough! The worst part is I suspect the facility reuses clippers and other tools which are stored in a caddy between chairs. I didn't see any sterilizing equipment and when new people were seated, they did not bring out new tools. If there hadn't been so many people, I might have asked about the sterilizing protocol. I should have anyway, for my sake as well as others. I really hope I don't get a fungus from this place. Years ago I got one from a pedicure and it takes a very long time to recover. Pro Nails really needs to institute more sanitary procedures and better customer service. Nothing Pro about it. read more

If you want a relaxing, spa-like experience, DON'T GO HERE. After calling ahead and making an appt I was promptly sat down in the pedicure chair and left there to wait. And wait. And wait. Without so much as an acknowledgement that I had been waiting for 45 min past my appt time and my water was quite cold. My mother politely asked "is my daughter going to be helped?" She was answered with a cursory "yes in a moment." Fast forward 15 more min and I am still waiting in the chair, toes freezing. To say this establishment lacks customer service is an UNDERSTATEMENT.
