Went into sassy's nails to get my acrylics finished after having issues at another nail salon, gentleman who owns the business greeted us, he was very polite and helped finish the design and topcoat on my nails. Also did a very beautiful gem sequence for a very fair price. If you're looking to get an acrylic set, I would 100% recommend it at this location it also seems like they do great pedicures because three women came in to get them in the 25 minutes I was there. read more

This was my first time coming here after getting several recommendations from friend. My daughter and I took my mom here for her 60th birthday. It was very clean, they sterilized tools properly, and were extremely friendly. All three of us got a mani and pedi with. The service didn't feel rushed and the manual massage and massage chairs were wonderful. They took their time on our toes and fingers and gave good suggestions on colors to use without charging a dime and a leg. I will definitely be coming back! read more

Worst service ever from a sexist pig (guy who seems to be owner of the salon). I came in during a business trip and needed a quick fill and unfortunately I forgot to check yelp before I went in. They charged me $55 for just a simple fill and gel nails. There was a guy in the front when I walked in, and at first he seemed nice but then he started calling for one of his employees to come out and proceeded to make sexual jokes towards her. I should've left then and there but I needed to get my nails done before my flight so I unfortunately stayed. This place only takes cash so I had to go to the McDonald's next door and I asked one of the girls that worked the counter where she got her nails from and if she'd ever gone to this salon. The girl even replied "oh I would never" so I should've asked around because obviously I had made the wrong decision. Please for the love of your nails and sanity, avoid this salon!! read more

I like to get a pedi every 2-3 weeks. The setting is calm and relaxing. The pedi is great and the polish lasts till my next visit, and would probably last quite a while beyond that! The massages are the best I have ever had while getting a pedi. I would highly recommend a visit!! read more

Cash only establishment, which is fine but I wasn't told when I walked in. Even if there was a sign (and I missed it) they should let patrons know as a courtesy. They do have an ATM in the salon. Was a nice looking salon, but the girl doing my pedicure left mid service to go help another woman that walked in for a repair. Could of been a frequent client of hers, but I was being serviced first so I feel like she should of had to wait until my pedicure was finished. I'm confused about the poor reviews and can only conclude the rude comments may be from over reactive women who feel entitled. I only arrived here due to sheer location convenience and never looked up reviews until after. Here on vacation and got in without appoint, they were really busy and asked if we could come back in a half hour, which was fine. The place has modern equipment and great nail driers afterwards. We got great massages and scrubs. It's cash only, but if you are not prepared they have a convenient atm machine that doesn't charge extra for using it. They use OPI polish. So good quality. One of us had the polish painted onto the cuticles and mine was not, I think it's a good idea to make sure and let them know what are expecting before the do it and they should do what you like. The guy, owner, did mine and was friendly, even a conversation about how all the tools are autoclaved, a big plus! All in all pretty friendly staff. Some of the other staff seemed confused but they might be new. Call ahead to make appointment so they have time, it's a great location. read more

All started well. I called the day before and my daughter and I were booked for a 9AM appointment the next day for a pedicure. I chose the deluxe pedi for both of of us. $45 each. Time came for the warm towel wrap and the towel the gal brought me was scalding!! It burnt my leg as I was telling her it was too hot! I should have walked out but I had oil and stuff all over my legs. Not to mention, it was my daughter's first pedicure. The gal seemed to not even acknowledge I was burnt, even though I had some tears (more so that my kiddo and I were supposed to have a nice experience over the pain). Granted, the owner didn't charge me but they shuffled us out so fast my polish didn't set. So, I need to go to another place to get my toes done properly before I go on vacation this Thursday. I had been there before and had always been set under the dryer. I'm guessing the huge red, burnt patch on my ankle was something they wanted to shuffle out the door as quickly as possible. New to Anchorage I was looking for a place to get a manicure and pedicure after my move. Thinking the ladies of south Anchorage would not pay to have their nails look bad I headed to Sassy Nails. I was right on the money. The prices are a little higher than I'm used to from the lower 48, but the service is wonderful. My shellac manicures last, on average, three weeks. I've had services performed by Hong and Kathy. They are both amazing and offer suggestions to make the polish pop with a design or art that isn't gaudy. If you do want to give this pace a try make sure you call ahead first. They operate primarily by appointment. Also, no credit/debit cards accepted; cash or check only. Apparently no good deed goes unpunished ... I went to Sassy's for the first time right after businesses began to reopen. I was their only customer, so I tipped $15 on a $45 treatment, figuring I had at least kept the lights on for the hour I was there. They were super friendly, and my toes looked great. (Pedicure lasted, too - though that may be due to me using my own polish.) A month later, I called for another appointment, this time for a mani/pedi. I was told 4:30, and after I'd left the house to run errands before, I got a call, asking if they could move it to 5. It was irritating, but fine. Whatever. I made use of the time and got there at 5. They took me right in, put me in a chair, turned on the water and off to the races - or so I thought. I sat there for 35 minutes before the got started. If I hadn't been so tired (and unsure of when I'd have a break to do this again) I'd have walked. I know what it was ... they had walk-ins they didn't want to turn down. I see this happen ALL the time at nail salons. Rather than honor those with appointments, they cram all the business they can into a time slot. Here's the deal ... they may have won that battle, but they lost the war. I will NEVER go back. I expressed that I realized these were stressful times, as a self-employed person I understand the need for the revenue, yet I still had work to do and was going to have a very long evening. The owner wouldn't even look at me, just kept saying a half-assed "sorry, sorry" which I knew was bullshit. They simply wanted the money, which is fine. Worst pedicure ever. 30 min. deluxe pedi for $40. Very weak massage, did not even ask how long or the shape I wanted my nails to be. Then left the shape and lengths completely uneven. I have polish on my cuticles & my feet itch. The guy that owns the place doesnt care about his employees and treats them like they are robots not people, thats why the employees are rude and look depressed all the time and end up doing shitty jobs. Everyone who works there is incredibly friendly and I have never been disappointed with their professionalism or customer service. I have been seeing Lisa since I started going there but have also had other techs when she's been unavailable, and they were all excellent. Really can't say enough good things!
