This is the worst gel manicure I've ever received. First, the nail tech pulled the wrong colors and insisted they were correct and wouldn't let me change them. Several of my nails have air bubbles and others weren't given enough coats and are see through. Two of my nails have so much polish on the skin that I fear the entire polish on the actual nail will come off as soon as the polish comes off my skin. 2 stars only because my mom got a good, quick dip manicure from one of the male nail techs. read more

After I'd signed in I was browsing through the gel colors when a woman came and got me and sat me down to start my nails I told her I wanted a mani-pedi and she nodded she proceeded to take off the previous gel on my nails and once I was out in foiled up she told me to pick out the color I was not even able to really open up the books with my tin foil nails. I picked out a color and one of the other people at work there came up behind her and said something and she looked at me and said mani pedi questioning me and I said yes and she kind of huffed a bit. She proceeded to do my nails and since it was a silver glittery it was very see-through and when she was done asked if it was okay and I asked for one more coat and she did not like that answer she also did not shape my nails nor did she ask if I wanted them rounded or squared as other places usually do. The petty was great a different person did the petty and that nail color is wonderful when it came to check out time it was $110 I gave him $150 he proceeded to give me $10 back. I was puzzled and I asked for the full amount back as I would tip from the full amount that I received back he did that and I left the $10 tip. I don't like people assuming that I'm going to tip what they want me to tip and take out the money from the change back for their tip. Look, this place does nails well, but after this experience I will not be going back. I originally went in for a lash lift which I learned they didn't do. I said I wanted to check out the options for lashes (for which they have 2, classic or full). Please note that a real lash tech should ask you multiple questions (whether or not you want a 1:1, 1:2, 1:whatever ratio, the curl you want, the length you want) specifically the ratio of real lash to fake lash. I was asked no questions. This place put large 6 piece fans across my whole eye. Usually with 4-6 of my real lashes attached. Meaning when one of my lashes in the fan fell out, as the do naturally, it would put major stress on the rest. When I was done getting these on I told her I didn't like them and they were too big, to which she said I just wasn't used to having them, and that all her clients loved them, and I would too. I went into a different tech who said it looked as if they had used some sort of hair extension glue on my lashes rather than lash glue. It then took the other tech 1 full hour to get what you see in the picture off. I went into the the woman who did my lashes and asked for a refund with my lashes looking like they did in the photo below. She gave me the option of redoing my lashes (absolutely not). And she then gave me a $30 gift certificate that I'll never be using, and told me that she wouldn't be giving me a refund as this took an hour and a half of her day to do. In actuality, this took 40 minutes. I paid $80 for the lashes, and even tipped her $15 because I'm a pushover apparently and I believe in tipping. I didn't realize initially how bad this would be. Please please do not go here for lash work. It was a terrible experience, and if I could give negative stars I would. Please see the lash techs at you beauty lounge as they removed and revived my natural lashes to the best of their ability. Keep in mind I do have several bald spots now that I've seen no regrowth from. read more

I went here yesterday to get my nails done and they have speed, class, good material, and style! I've been to many other nail salons in Anchorage and very very few even had 2 of these things. They are so sweet and accepted me my mother and a friend close to closing time. It only took 2 of them about an hour and a half on all 3 of our nails and they look great So if you want to make a friend and spoil yourself a little go here. They don't charge much too! For all 3 of our nails ended with a total of $145.00 ( and if you've got your nails done in Alaska they are usually $50-$60+ for not so good nails. I've added a few pictures of how my nails turned out. I got a yellow-cream color (they change color based on hot & cold). You've got tired, beat up feet... but you don't want to spend $50 or more at a day spa to get a nice pedicure?... This is the place to go! I've went to some nail salons that give crap pedicures and then charge up the ying yang but this place is GREAT! There are two women that have been there for years that only do pedicures, and no matter how busy they are, you will be in the chair for an hour. They are thorough, your feet feel wonderful when you are done, and they charge $25 for a woman's pedi and $30 for a men's pedi. My special someone comes with me every now and then and he really enjoys it. I didn't give them 5 stars because I don't appreciate people talking in another language when they are providing a service and this happens every time I'm there. I don't think the ladies know that much english so it's to be expected. I just think it's rude. But overall the service is very good. Food for thought: They are open 7 days a week. Make an appointment so that if they are busy (and they normally are) you can get in quicker. Also, go during the weekday. The weekends are crazy busy! read more

Clean and modern looking inside but the service, skill and prices are absolutely outrageous. I chose a pink/white Shellac manicure. A older woman couldn't even figure out what bottles were shellac and which were not. Since I have had several shellac manicures I had to tell her which colors to use and how to use the layers. This was made difficult by the fact she didn't speak English.... At all. Halfway through my manicure a man came out from back and was speaking loudly and angrily to her and pointing to me. He seemed to be trying to intimidate me to stop giving her direction. I took one star away because the nail tech didn't know what the heck she was doing and I took 2 stars away because of the man yelling, the overpriced manicure ($50!) and the non-speaking tech. read more

I liked this place. I walken in at 7:05 pm and rhey welcomed me, the shop closing usually at 7pm. I did Shellac and manicure. I thought it was a bit overprised overall for the actual service but since i've been on the road for a while it was worth it. I do my nails myself and i do a pretty good job - better that they did it, thats why i am giving the place a 4 instead of 5. But definitely recommend it! read more

I told her she cut into my skin, but she acted like she didn't hear me. My toe is JUST now healing after two months. I used to go here when they had different workers at modern nails. I got a pedicure and manicure and i wasn't impressed with their work. My massage was less than four minutes for my pedicure and my manicure was less than two minutes. My sister went with me and we got the same services and i was charged 5 dollars extra! My manicure was horrible! I went one more time and i got a massage and the lotion dried up and she was still giving the massage, i wasn't a fan of that dry massage. read more

I've been going to Brian for years. He's really good. I normally get a shellac manicure and a pedicure. His wife works there too from time to time. She's super sweet and does a good job too. They take their time and engage with you on a personal level. I would definitely recommend this place. They will fix a nail that they did for no extra charge- unlike some places that I've been to. read more

This is the best nail salon in Anchorage, and pretty much compared to anywhere else I've been. I rarely do manicures and can't speak for fancier services such as gels and wraps and such, but their pedicure is awesome. Meticulous, clean and pampering. Always loved the convenance of their location and the quality of their services but after witnessing their lack of hygiene I will never return. I watched a man receive a pedicure then once his service was over the salon employee drained the water and WITHOUT cleaning or sanitizing it she filled the tub back up and hurried on to another customer.
