The woman was gentle and detail oriented with my gel mani. The mani lasted until it grew out with no chips or defects. I went back this last weekend and got another gel mani and again, they did a great job. A realistic price point of about 50-55 dollars for the gel mani so it makes it more reasonable to visit more often. Highly recommend. read more

Hopefully they adjust their cleaning practices and understand the importance to do so, I hear their manicures are beautifully done and they did a fine job painting the nails and gave a great massage as part of the pedicure. I feel horrible writing this review to a small business, but this place is not up to hygienic standards. Unfortunately they do not use plastic liners in their foot tubs and when I expressed my concerns, I was promised that they cleaned the tubs "very well" and "disinfected everything". I clean professionally and I watched their cleaning procedures and was very concerned. After my pedicure while the tub still had surface moisture, they sprayed Lysol not thoroughly at all, only sparingly and not throughout the whole tub, and immediately followed it up with a rinse of water, then grabbed a towel to dry the parts not sprayed with Lysol. What this means is the Lysol was sprayed onto surface moisture which doesn't allow for full penetration of the product, then immediately wiped off not giving it the time to sit and effectively disinfect (Lysol has clear instructions on how to use it properly to actually disinfect vs just clean). Additionally, the jet system was not cleaned at all. I waited in my car after my service to see if maybe they would clean the tubs and chairs again after customers leave, they did not - They set them up for the next customer. Someone else with me noticed they didn't even Lysol their foot tub after, only rinsed it with water and wiped it clean with a towel. I would love to give them the benefit of the doubt but as this is my profession, I know how easily contractable fungus, warts, and other harmful bacteria is especially from tubs with jets where things can't be properly cleaned unless they use a liner to prevent contact with people's feet. If I hadn't been reassured they disinfected things properly despite no tub liners, I wouldn't be writing the review, but I expect a business to meet basic hygiene requirements and know how to effectively sanitize and disinfect shared spaces and tools. read more

BEST COLOR SELECTION IN ANCHORAGE!!! I can't even begin to explain how I have been searching far and wide for Unichrome colors and I couldn't believe this place had them! I already booked my next appointment to try out the next color I want haha Anyways, Tina squeezed me in between her other appointments last minute. I'm very picky and particular with nail shape and she executed my coffin nails PERFECTLY. We're talking precision here! This was my first time here and I'll probably never go anywhere else now. This is not a super fancy spa style salon. It's family owned, and there are only 3 nail techs. The owners' children are typically present, and they're very cute and well behaved. I don't have an issue with that, but some people might. There's a tv typically playing some home improvement show. The family that owns this business are very sweet people, and they're all excellent nail techs. Because they are a small staff sometimes services can take a bit longer than usual, and there are times when appointments haven't started on time. Because I think there services are a good value it's worth it to me. I've gone to some of the fancier salons in anchorage, and have paid more for the same services with worse results. The pricing here is the cheapest I've found so far. Nail services in anchorage are in general overpriced, and I haven't been able to figure out why yet. When I first moved here I naively thought there weren't many nail salons, but that's certainly not the reason! I did end up going to other salons a number of times due to the fact that their schedule fills up extremely quick. I went back and expressed my concerns, with the obvious issue on my nails and wanted to give them another chance. It lifted, this time, in 6 days. Great place to relax. I went in the middle of a day in the middle of the week and it was pretty much just me. The guy that did my shellac deluxe pedicure was amazing. I've been going to this nail salon for years and finally stopped. I want to say, they are a very sweet and friendly family. They do good nail work and great pedicures; much better and longer lasting than so many other places. However, even when you schedule an appointment, you still have to wait most times. They also take walk-ins, which may well be convenient for the walk-in customers, but annoying for those of us that schedule appointments and then end up waiting because of walk-ins. Also, they answer their phones while working on customers which is not relaxing nor great time management. Answering phones and addressing walk-ins during scheduled appointments means a lot of extra time spent stopping and taking care of others. It can get annoying and sometimes feels like they just want to make as much money as possible by taking everyone that wants services instead of focusing on the current paying customer. Their little children are always there unless it is during the school day. Again, cute and sweet, but definitely not relaxing. As a mom I sometimes like to go get a pedicure to just have "me time". Being around other people's kids and having them constantly talking to you is not "me time". I'm not trying to be mean, but I did pick a pedicure/spa and not McDonald's Playland. Then as he was giving me service he didn't tell me he had to go pick up his kid at a certain time And the lady next to him (prob his wife) asked if I could wait 30 mins to finish.
