$90.00 / 2 hrs / Painful Experience / Poor Quality…read more Just moved into Anchorage from out of state. I requested a removal and a full set of French tips. I can't speak for the quality of every nail technician but this nail set in the picture was horrible compared to the 4 week old gel-x set that I had before this. When "Christine" was applying the extensions, I know I should have just completely stopped her there immediately. She was placing them crooked and unaligned from the beginning. The craziest part was when she was struggling to form a French tip with the dip powder and said, "It's hard because it's dirty." She went on to explain that the reason she was struggling was because the person who used the powder before her DIDN'T CLEAN IT PROPERLY. Now I'm just thinking about an infection because she cut me twice. I felt the first cut on the table and found the second one later in the night. My bleeding stopped very quick but it's was still very painful and uncomfortable on my cuticle. She ended up apologizing a lot for the 2 full hours she had me there, gave up on the dip powder and ended up just painting the French tip on in the end. This technician also tried to form an apex with the gel top coat which resulted in a very blobby form. It was $90 dollars. She knew she did a terrible job and she knew she kept me too long. Two other girls around said to just call if you need help. Again, I can't speak for all their employees I've heard that the "owner" and "May" give very great service, but I don't know if I'm truly ever coming back here.

My nails came out cute. That being said, my shellac ended up thicker than I requested, and every time the door opened, a gust of cold air hit--which made it a bit uncomfortable. Also, the nail tech was a bit heavy-handed during cuticle cleaning and dug in a little too deep. Still a solid spot for a quick mani/pedi, but a few small things could definitely make the experience better.

My nails are not even that impressive. But anyhow, my friend wanted me to go with her so I said "sure!, what the heck". I'll point out that for some reason I was not able to check into this nail salon and although I was inside the salon it said I was too far away to check in. I tried checking in from the parking lot to see if that would work and I just had no luck with that either. The salon itself was a decent size and lots of tables and stations for a pedicure. It is very neat and the staff is friendly. My friend and I went in as walk-ins and were pleased that we were able to be attended almost immediately. I went for a manicure. One thing I really liked is that the tables are side by side so it made talking with my friend a lot easier and we were both able to get our nails done at the same time. There were TV's playing "Vampire Diaries" so I guess you can be amused if you like that show :-) I chose to get Shellac polish which is like getting gel nails except as a manicure and supposedly this particular polish stays on longer than regular nail polish. The downside I see to this is that you have to stick your hands in a UV ray machine so that it can settle and dry. I would rate this 3 and a half stars if I could. Honestly the lack of stars is mostly due to the price. Overall this cost me $35 before tip and I while I liked the color and overall experience, it looked like something I could do myself, at home. In the lower 48 I've seen Shellac for $25 and with much neater results. I'll still return to this place and maybe try something different next time. In the mean time, this is 3 1/2 stars mostly due to quality and price.

This time I was extremely disappointed in the service. I went with my friend, the man who gave her a pedicure understood English, we both wanted the basic pedicure without gel polish. The lady I got ( I think she's the owner) never asked me what I wanted but I told her I DID NOT want gel polish. Halfway through the pedicure I realize she's doing way more to my feet than my friend. I told the lady I just wanted the basic pedicure No gel polish. In the end she still puts gel polish on my toes & charges me 25 extra. The entire time she was being really rough on my feet and one of my toes started bleeding. She completely ignored me. I paid $65 dollars for this pedicure, super unhappy. I know she understood that I wanted the basic pedicure with no polish. Then I left the tip part blank because I was frustrated but didn't want to make a scene. She pointed to it and asked me to tip her. So fine I tipped her $7. I will not be coming back here again. I didn't want to spend $73 on a pedicure that made me uncomfortable and bleed.

I was trying to find another place but got slightly turned around and ended up here. In the 30+ years of getting my nails done, I have never had to ask a technician to clip away at a nail that was lifting since she was just going to start adding acrylic right onto the already lifting nail. Nor have I never not been asked to wash my hands after they sanded. But yet that's what happened. She started painting my nails directly after sanding them. The polish was dried out. It didn't stop her from trying to push thru, though. I stopped her after the second nail and told her to get a different color. The final clear coat is fisheyed. Some of my nails are so thick that I feel as though they are more in line of being hooves, not fingernails. I was so upset, I paid, and left. Fast forward 4 days. The one that I asked her to clip away is now lifting. It will be a cold day in hell before it would ever step for in this place again!
