I really wish they would prioritize people who actually make appointments, or at least stop overbooking them. I called this morning to confirm if they had space for 5 people, and the lady on the phone told us to come at 3. We even arrived 10 minutes early, but only one of us was seated a little after 3. Now it's 3:30 and the rest of us are still waiting for a nail tech. Smh, this is frustrating. The staff is very nice, but they need to realize that respecting customers' time is just as important as customers respecting theirs. This has happened a couple of times now. One time I even walked out after waiting, despite having already booked an appointment in advance. This time, I'm finally writing a review in hopes that they take this feedback into consideration and make improvements. I do enjoy coming here because the staff is kind and the work is good, but better scheduling and time management would really make the experience so much better for everyone. read more

They are great! Welcomed 2 last minute walk-ins for a mani/pedi + shellac. Very accommodating and I didn't feel rushed at all. The techs were pleasant and I am one happy customer. We had an appointment at 6pm and got there earlier at 5:20. We were told that if their 5:30 appointments didn't come in they would take us. We left for 10-15 mins and came back because that is what they told us to do. At 5:49pm they came and asked someone next to us if they had an appointment or if they were a walk in and they said they were walk in and took her before us!!!! Seriously!!!! 11 freaking minutes before our appointment and they took a walk in first. Guess what? They didn't get us at our 6pm appointment. It is now after 6 and I'm still sitting here waiting. Don't ever go to them if you expect to make it for your appointment and their work is not good. I'm finding another place!! This is not the first time I have made an appointment and had to wait for a walk in before me. I would give a zero if I could. No wonder they are so cheap so they can keep customers. Not only that one of their customers, that was a walk in, sat and argued with me. Don't ever go there! I have already told everyone I I have referred to them to not deal with them. read more

What I asked for vs what I received, LOL. First time I've actually ever hated my nails, period. The paint job is sloppy, the shaping literally looks insane, and all in all not what I asked for at all. Jimmy did my nails, I showed him the inspo photo 4+ times, including before we began. He insisted we could do this color no problem, then when it came to paint he said they didn't have one like that. He told me opaque white + pearl would give a similar look. I was told him I was unsure but let him try out my first hand. After he painted them, I told him I didn't like it at all. He was very rude to me and said "too late, now you'll have to wait for a fill to change it." His demeanor completely changed and didn't respect my request or opinion at all. I was very clear with him throughout our whole session, and he didn't care about what i wanted at all. I wasted 3+ hours in this salon, just to come out with nails I absolutely hate. It was recommended to see Amber, first time she was pleasant and nice, the second time she was ubrupt and borderline rude after trying to push the more expensive pedicure, to which i stated i wanted just a regular ped, i made a mistake and went in the 3rd time and she was extremely rude, will never ever step into that salon again, there are too many nail salons to put up with rude ugly behavior that Amber exhibited. read more

Both times I've gone in with an appointment, but...from other reviews it seems they struggle with that. I waited for a half hour before I was seen today with my apt. It took 45 minutes to take off the dip nails that I had done here, they were just really thick and a beast to take off. (The dip was beautiful, but reeeally thick and not done in a typical dip style, but by making a thick paste out of the dip powder and pressing on into the nail.) The manicure afterwards was very basic, but I guess $20 is cheaper than most places? I think I'm used to more steps--maybe a nail strengthener, some cuticle oil, a base coat, quick dry drops on top of color...but it's really just cuticle cut, quick hand massage, an color and clear coat. My color was a little old and goooy, and the clear coat happened to b placed with some missing spots and ran a bit, which is noticeable in a few spots. I'll probably just do it myself next time since I have some of the extra nice stuff at home. read more

I was going in for my typical French tip manicure but was inspired by the nail tech that was cleaning my nails at the time and decided to go with the same! She was very nice and did and excellent job cleaning up my nails and applying shellac on my nails. The quick hand massage and lotion is a nice way to end the session! read more

Today was my second time in. My first time I was pretty happy. I mean, they up-sale like none other, but my pedicure the first time was pretty good. This time however....I called and made an appointment, because that is the only way they are doing things right now. No big deal, I did the same thing for the other place I get my pedicures. Show up to my appointment and there are four customers sitting right next to each other getting their nails done. In between these four customers there are two kids sitting. That's six people in less than a 15' space. Then my niece and I (we had an appointment for two pedis) were seated right next to another lady getting a pedicure when there were a total of 8 empty chairs. THEN the lady who started on my toes had an appointment walk in and had to leave me to go to the other person. I have now been sitting, waiting while my water is getting cold, for someone else to come start on my toes for 15 minutes. While my niece is progressing in her pedicure. Obviously social distancing is not something they care about. And I can handle that. But why make me call for an appointment when you are going to overbook just like you used to do before appointments were needed. "5 more minutes" at a nail salon means upwards of a 15 minute wait, anyone who gets regular manis or pedis knows that. Needless to say, I won't be coming back here again, unless I am tagging along with a friend. I'll stick with Executive nails because they do a bomb job every time and there is never a "5 more minutes" mentioned there. read more

I called and made an apt for a dip manicure. When I arrived I waited for about 15 mins not seeing anyone who worked there. Then a nice lady came out and began removing the current dip polish off my nails. She then got up and began seeing other clients for wax apts. after I sat there with remover foiled to my nails for 20 mins an older man came and sat down and began filing to remove the dip. One of my nails had broke and was jagged and sharp on one side. He never filed any of my nails to include the obviously broken one and didn't bother to trim my cuticles. So needless to say the dip job looked real sloppy and the length and shape of my nails also looked real bad. My nails are bumpy as he painted over nail shavings that stuck to the first coat of polish. This horrible experience cost me $50!! I am now headed to a different salon to have this mess removed! I came and asked if they had time for a walk-in and was enthusiastically told yes, so I took a seat. There was one woman ahead of me, and then a couple came in for a scheduled 6pm appointment. I waited for over 40minutes and not one person attempted to tell me how much longer it would be. I left. If you don't have time or can't accommodate a walk-in, that's fine, but don't tell me you'll get right to me and then have me waste over 40minutes of my day. I had been going to this nail shop for some time I usually make and appointment and have been satisfied with the customer service but this time I came in as a walk in, It was not busy the owner I believe her name is Mary asked could she help me I said yes I wanted a manicure/pedicure,she said I can do it. She was doing my pedicure when she answered the phone it was someone calling to make and appointment for 2 at 1pm Mary finished my pedicure and started my manicure when the 2 ladies came in said I called for a 1pm appointment for 2, Mary jumped up said I be right back I get their pedicure started, she never came back l was left with both hands wrapped in foil an polish removal for over and hour I started to look around and then the gentleman I believe he's her husband said he would finish my nails, however, when I looked up he was down the aisle working on Someone else eventually another individual finished with a client and said I'll finish your nails I was upset by this time but I maintained my composure and I paid my bill but not the usual amount I tipped. I walked out of the shop but was not satisfied with the way I had been treated as a customer I returned and spoke to the gentleman about the lack of decency and courtesy that was not extended to me as a customer. The amount of time the foil& polish removal affected my nails and caused my fingernails & Fingertips to be really dry. Came here for a pedi with one of my friends. Wasn't given the sandals to dry my toenails, but my friend was given them as she got her toe nails painted too. So my nail polish got ruined as I was attempting to put my shoes on. The nail tech had attitude and raised her voice at me while I tried to explain my frustration. This place is great. I came in a few years ago minutes after having my nails hacked by another salon... and Im not picky but the prior salon had done the worst job ive ever seen!!! Anyhow it was a few minutes before closing but the hubby and wife owners could see I was really upset because i had to work the next day. They said no problem and got me in! Ive since been back every few weeks for a pedicure.. I also took my husband last time and he enjoyed his first pedicure! I like that lots of hubbys come in at Vina and the staff is always so helpful. Alot of the girls I will see in town or at the bank and they are always super nice and say hello like an old friend.. I have been getting my pedicures and manicures here for over 11 years since I first moved to Alaska. I live in Wasilla and never found a place out here that was worth the high cost or a safe pedicure chair that I did not have to climb or step up high to sit down. I also have used the same person. Her name is Aimee. She is shy but very kind and caring. She does a very good job. I always leave very rested and satisfied. The spa like chairs make me melt into the chair as it massages my back and shoulders. They have added braces that assist in holding my legs so I don't have to strain to hold them up in the air while she massages lotion into my legs and feet. I have had multiple surgeries on both knees and hips, so this is quite helpful. Also the pedicure chairs are placed on the floor and there isn't any climbing or stepping up to sit and swing feet into the water. I am able to call ahead for reservations, which is most helpful when driving from Wasilla. The prices have slowly increased over 11 years but are not outlandish. Well worth the beautiful drive to Anchorage. read more

Not impressed. My friend and I came in for two pedicure right after opening. They got started on mine right away but my friend waited 30 minutes with her feet soaking in water for their other employees to show up. No heads up about the wait. The lady doing my nails was FaceTiming her boyfriend and texting during my pedicure as well. After my pedicure was finished, they had me leave the chair next to my friend while her pedicure was finished, even though there were SEVERAL other open chairs for other customers. Also they don't sterilize any of their tools and are not sanitary. Overall a very poor experience and service. Would not recommend. read more
