Used to really like this store. Don't think I'll be returning anytime soon, if at all. 6 hour wait, was given 2 "only 1 more hour" estimates that were laughably off. Only to be told they didn't have any stock of the firearms or ammo we came for. Was told over the phone they had plenty of both just days prior - no indication they'd sell out. Might have overheard on the phone they did have stock of some ammo that we were then told is out? Our wait was not acknowledged, and walking out empty handed was barely and meekly recognized. A sad, big fat waste of the day. Surely something can be done to improve this system. Covid affects store capacity and business operations, not customer service. Very, very disappointed. read more

This is a law enforcement supply store for "qualified professionals," meaning that shoppers must be cops, firefighters, licensed security, other first responders, or military. One of the best shops I've ever dealt with in any business, Pro Force always does their best to understand your needs and meet those needs with quality products and service. The prices are very competitive with good selection of stock and availability of special order. I have particularly appreciated the LE trade-in inventory (used firearms that were carried by cops on duty or part of a vehicle / training working inventory). These are continuous always fun to check out. The staff are helpful, well-trained and personable. They make customers of all experience levels feel comfortable and welcome. This business is always improving and has grown immensely under the outstanding leadership of Ms. Lucci, who has re-vamped and reorganized the store a few times. I do not buy a lot of guns, but after my department switched to the 9mm, I wanted an off-duty gun that matched the same caliber. Buying a gun in the past has not been the most enjoyable experience. Gun shops are not typically known for their customer service and associates can be somewhat condescending, so I was not looking forward to that aspect of buying a new gun. I was exceptionally impressed with Proforce, in particular, Tyler, who helped me with my gun purchase. Tyler was friendly and kind as he explained the steps necessary to complete the purchase. We engaged in small talk about his education and how much he enjoyed working at Proforce. The entire process took 10-15 minutes. Tyler is the type of employee I would want working for me. I was so impressed with Tyler that at the end of the transaction I offered to buy his lunch and provided him with a tip. He was surprised by this gesture and hesitant to accept (not sure if he ever did), but I explained that I wanted to do it to express my gratitude for the excellent level of service he provided. We arrived right when the store opened and was told it would be a two hour wait to purchase a handgun that had previously been set aside. Employee at the counter said the wait may be less as soon as more employees showed up. After waiting two hours, I inquired as to how much longer the wait would be and was told it would be another two hours! The wait was pretty long to get in the doors but the employees were polite and friendly. They have a huge selection of firearms to choose from. It helps if you do your research before going in. Waited 10 days to write my review, although the wait is extremely LONG it's well worth it. I have to admit the very first time I came I left unsatisfied they didn't have the gun I wanted /needed . Then a few months later I am back and Danny helped me out, I got hit with the news that they didn't have the gun I wanted /needed and after waiting about 5 hours and after working a double, that wasn't what I wanted to hear. I was disappointed once again. I then had to settle for a different gun , Danny went to the back to get my gun and few minutes Pass and he comes back to tell me He found what I wanted ! After he said that Danny just made my day best thing that could have came out of his mouth. Hahaha My process was fast and easy and it was then when I realized it was well worth the wait. I got what I wanted plus got excellent customer service Danny explained everything and got it done. Ten days later here I am once again helped out by Danny. He helped me pick out a holster for my new gun gave me the option to purchase some amo and I'm extremely grateful for his knowledge, his professionalism and excellent customer service. Really wanted to give these guys more then this. But my last interaction just blew them out of the water. I get it's busy and I don't mind waiting. I have no problem with that. But when you give me completely wrong info and show no regard for customer service or to anyone that has already purchased with you that's when you need to be taken down a notch. So I get there at 8:15 to pick up a pistol (bare in mind I'm picking up, not purchasing so they already have my money and picking up shouldn't take that long to do, called ahead the day before to make sure everything was approved and that I don't have to wait anymore. it's already been over 2 weeks so to make certain no issues) I sign in and see the purchase list and pick up list. And I'm already quite a ways down on the first page of the pick up list. So the girl tells me it will be about hour and a half. So I go do a few things and then come back about an 1:15 later. I figure it can be anywhere between 1:30 to possibly 2 hours. About 1:45 later I go take a look to see about how much more I'm Looking at 5-10-20 min?? Just wondering. And when I ask she says there are still 7 people in front of me. I WAS FLABBERGASTED. So you're saying in an hour and half you helped 2 people pick up their guns. BUT then you look at the SALES LIST and almost the entire front page is crossed off. I get it you want to make MORE MONEY but don't purposefully neglect the people that have already paid and waited for their turn. They then said oh it will be another hour and half. You're telling me it's been 1:45 and it will be another 1:30. But let's do the math. You helped 2 people in an hour and half. Now there's 7 still in front of me. That means I'm looking atleast another 4 AND A HALF HOURS MINIMUM. Don't lie to me and don't negate your other customers JUST CAUSE YOU'D RATHER MAKE SALES. I don't need anything bad enough to waste my time and wait there for 6 hours. JUST BE BETTER. ‍ I was called at 12:30 for my sign in at 8:15. Update: I was called by Jake to talk about getting my gun picked up. He was very sorry for the miscommunication and wanted to get me taken care. I like that he wanted to give some personal customer service because you don't see that that often anymore nowadays. He got me set up to come in and pick it up. And he even called me later on that day to make sure everything went smooth and that I was able to get my pistol picked up. read more

Don't go if you are military or a firefighter.... I should have read the reviews or educated myself on California gun laws prior to because if you are not law enforcement then there is no point in going there. I went because a buddy recommended me to them. I made my appointment over the phone and proceeded to wait almost 2 hours after checking in. I finally saw an assistant and told him I wanted a particular pistol that was available and since I am military I thought I was good. Nope. Unless you are a cop, you are limited to the dusty two display cases in the corner. What bothered me the most was the customer service. The assistant proceeded to embarrassingly educate me on why I cannot purchase certain types of weapons in front of 10-15 customers and staff in a loud enough voice that the businesses across the street can hear. I get it, I'm not a cop but I am a firefighter and a soldier so I took it as a slap to the face. I don't know if it is the business ethics of pro force or the California laws for law abiding citizens or he just doesn't like firefighters or military but I ain't going back there ever again. read more

I am a long time customer of ProForce Law Enforcement and have been patronizing their Brea, California store for many years. It has been my "go to" store for firearms and related equipment almost since the Brea location opened. As active duty LE, I appreciate a company whose employees understand the needs and preferences of the first responder community that they serve. I have always found the employees of the Brea ProForce store to be extremely knowledgeable and very helpful during my visits to the store. Today was no exception. During today's visit I had the pleasure of working with Tyler C. I had gone to the store with the intention of purchasing two firearms, a Glock Gen 5 model 17 for on-duty carry and a Glock 43X for backup and off duty concealed carry. Although I had done my research and had a good idea of what I wanted, I had a number of questions to ask. Tyler was more than up to the challenge. He patiently listened to my initial questions and then retrieved the firearms from the back for my inspection. He waited while I examined the weapons and asked a number of follow up questions pertaining to model options, available sight configurations, magazines, holster interchangeability between these firearms and other Glocks that I already owned as well as the prices for the various models. Tyler never missed a beat. His product knowledge was spot on and he was able to quickly answer every question without ever having to search factory reference material or spec sheets. Tyler took his time and never made me feel rushed during the sales process. He made me feel welcomed and appreciated as a customer. After I decided on the models that I wanted, we continued our conversation and I asked about the newly introduced Glock model 44. Tyler retrieved one from the back and I ultimately decided to purchase that weapon too. The DROS paperwork was handled in a fast and efficient manner and I was on my way in a minimum of time. I'll be as kind as I can. Two words to describe today's Pro Force experience NEVER AGAIN! I was one of those guys who knew exactly what I wanted, saw it in the display case and was ready to buy. At the 50 minute mark of waiting to spend my money, I called my police academy to check their stock of 1911s, was informed they had plenty of stock and handed my paper number 86 to a guy that had number 89, and drove to LA. 15 mins after my arrival at the academy, I was filling out DOJ paperwork.
