To mention to me the reason why he hadn't gotten to my firearm was because it takes to long to change a drill bit on his machine this was mid 2025 sometime When I finally came in to retrieve my firearm, I was informed that it had been sold. I was told that attempts were made to contact me, including certified mail, but I never received any such notice. When I asked the gentleman in the front clearly fustrated ( not his fault ) tells me "your gun is gone " Tells me write my number down and to wait for a call back As of now, this matter has not been resolved. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and handling of customer property. I would strongly advise anyone considering this business to get clear written timelines and policies before leaving firearms here.

First time gun buyer, and I didn't know what to expect. The gentleman that helped me was blunt but…read morehelpful. I probably annoyed him because I signed the wrong spot on the paper and it was near closing time. However, that doesn't take away from the process of how helpful the staff is when it comes to helping you out with your purchases or anything related to the sales of guns. Here's the process for all customers I think and first time buyers will be detailed below: Oh first thing is first, you'll need: - Have your invoice (if you order online) and let them clerk know where you ordered it from: Their website (Ammo Bros) or a third party website. This will help the clerk find the gun easier. - Picture ID (Driver's Licenses) - Secondary form of ID w/ address (Car registration, utility bill etc) - F.S.C. Card (if you do not have this, they will provide a test for you which will extend the processing time by at least 15-30 minutes. You'll need to take the test and someone needs to grade it.) 1. Sign in on the sign in sheet, and put down what you are here for. In my case, picking up a gun. If you haven't filled out any paperwork I'd put down paperwork to pick up gun or something to that effect to lessen confusion. In my case, I had to fill out paperwork, take the Firearms Safety Certification Test ($2 for a laminate copy). Then submit paperwork for a background check. This process varies (in my experience probably 1.5 hrs not including wait times). 2. The Firearms Safety Certification test is common sense (to me) and very straight-forward. Individual results may vary. 3. The background check is pretty standard but read through it carefully and make sure to fill out every line except M2 (the clerk will tell you too), it'll save them a lot of time and make the process smoother. 4. When signing papers, make sure to sign the right spot. This is the part where I messed up on and signed the "Sales" line instead of the "Transfer" line. I auto piloted at this point because I was super hungry and was still recovering from being sick. My bad! But please read before signing and ask (better to be annoying than to drag out the processing time). 5. They'll let you know when pick up the gun. Some advice: If you're picking up a gun and haven't filled out paperwork, slot at least 2 hours to do the paperwork process. Don't arrive 5 minutes before closing. They'll say 30 minutes but I think it's better to give them 1.5 hours to process. There's numerous factors: - Other customers - Paperwork processing - Murphy's law: What can go wrong will go wrong, better to be safe than sorry Overall, the store is clean, they have a number of guns in the store (I'm not really gun savvy yet). There were some missing items from the shelves but I think if you need basic things like magazines, sights, bags, containers, and gun cleaning supplies. They all should be fairly easy to find. The store is also under construction so expect loud noises like drilling and hammers. They have a bunch of different types of ammo behind the sales desk/counter. I know for sure they have 9MM since that was what I was looking to get. I'll update next week when I'm able to pick up the pistol about the pick up process. TLDR: Read the requirements of what to bring. Slot 2 hours for the paperwork process and wait times. Do not show up 5 minutes before closing (7PM). Sign the right boxes and of course read what you're signing. And sign up when you get there.

They're very careful and everything they do, considering their products needs to be in delicate hands, and they go by the book and they cross her T's and dot their I's . I highly recommend this company For your further hunting, fishing or whatever you may have this need for military , police -academy, and for insecurity as well. God bless, Brenda Gilliam

Insight Shooting Range in Artesia was the complete opposite. From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel welcomed, safe, and comfortable. Natalie especially was super helpful, educational, and easy to talk to. You can tell the staff here genuinely enjoy what they do and actually care about teaching people the right way instead of trying to intimidate anyone. The whole process is smooth and easy. Of course safety is taken seriously, which is exactly how it should be, but overall it's very easy to walk in, shoot, and get out without any stress. Their gun rentals are also very reasonable and affordable. Every time I come here it's always a breeze. Great environment, great people, and honestly one of the few ranges that makes you feel comfortable whether you're experienced or newer to shooting. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

Prices are standard for a typical shooting range. However, I can't give this place a 5 star because other rangers have set the bar pretty high when it comes to appearance. I try to support small local businesses whenever I can, especially ones in my own neighborhood. In early January I stopped into Addax Tactical while I was out riding my e-bike with my dog. The staff were friendly, they were cool about my dog being there, and they even let me bring my bike inside. My first impression was positive. A little later I went back to order a rifle. I wanted a Henry Big Boy .357 Lever Action Rifle. They didn't have it in stock, and I was told it would take about two to three weeks to arrive because the SHOT Show convention was coming up. While doing the paperwork, I also decided to purchase a Ruger 10/22 so I could complete both purchases with a single background check. I left a deposit of about $1,200 toward roughly $2,000 total for the two rifles. Both rifles are very standard models that most gun stores typically have available or can obtain quickly. I could have easily purchased them elsewhere, but I made a deliberate choice to support a smaller shop in my neighborhood and was willing to wait the extra couple of weeks. Based on the timeline I was given, I expected the rifles to arrive by late January and to have them in my possession by mid-February after the required 10-day waiting period. That didn't happen. After three weeks I called to check on the order. Nothing had arrived yet. I waited another week and called again. Still nothing. The responses were always very casual, with little explanation other than that the rifles had been ordered. Around six weeks into the process, I was told the Ruger had arrived but they hadn't called because they assumed I wanted to pick up both rifles at the same time. I went in immediately and started the paperwork to take possession of the Ruger. During that visit I learned something that had never been mentioned before: the Henry rifle had not actually shipped yet, and the shop generally places firearm orders in batches rather than ordering individual rifles. This was the first time I had heard that, even though the original estimate had been two to three weeks. At that point I agreed to upgrade to the octagonal-barrel version of the Henry since I had always wanted that model anyway, and I was told the change would not affect the delivery timeline. After the 10-day waiting period I picked up the Ruger and again asked about the Henry. The answer was still that it had not arrived yet. By this point we were about eight weeks into the process, with no clear timeline. About a week later I called again and received the same answer. At that point I decided to cancel the Henry order and request a refund. I was told the refund would come from accounting and that I should expect a check in two to three weeks. After two weeks I called again and was told it could take up to 30 days. I eventually went to the shop in person to check on the refund. This time I was told I could not bring my bike or dog inside, even though I had been there several times before with both and it had never been an issue. Eventually I received a call saying the refund check had arrived. For the sake of transparency, I'm writing this from memory without the receipts directly in front of me, so the dollar amounts may be off by a few dollars either way, but the numbers below are very close to what was paid and refunded. When I picked up the check, the amount returned was about $370 out of the roughly $1,200 deposit I had paid. That means that after roughly 12 weeks, the final outcome of this transaction is that I effectively ended up with a $830 Ruger 10/22 -- a rifle that typically sells for a few hundred dollars at most gun shops. Even assuming some type of restocking fee, it's difficult to understand how that result makes sense, particularly for a rifle that, according to the shop, had not even shipped yet when I cancelled the order. I went into this purchase specifically because I wanted to support a small neighborhood business like Addax Tactical and was willing to wait longer than usual to do so. Unfortunately, after the delays, the lack of clear communication about how orders were handled, and the final refund outcome, the entire experience ended up being extremely frustrating. If you're considering ordering a firearm here, my advice would simply be to make sure you clearly understand the ordering process, timeline expectations, and refund policies before leaving a deposit. Posting this simply to document my experience so other customers know what to expect when placing a special order here.
