Came here for fun as a first timer who has no interest in owning a gun and has never held one! The staff is super chill and nice, both when I called and during service. The parking lot can have limited spaces, but the inside is hugee and you get your individual lane. They seem to have regular customers who bring their own guns to practice. For a date, cost around $100 ( expect $30 per round of 50) so more if you add more ammo. Pretty fast, just going down the aisles to sign the waivers, give id. The staff is knowledgeable and very beginner friendly. He was able to help us choose a gun suited for our experience level and was encouraging. Quite busy, so not like 1:1 attentiveness, basically get your tutorial and footing and off you go! We were given a brief tutorial and some gun safety rules at the counter and then sent off to the range with our caddy. Hearing equipment required $1 deposit. Separate range fees for each person ($20, then 18 for one lane). Inside again spacious, simple. Has a old timer switch to move the target to clip on and shelf on the bottom. Huge broom for the shells and nice organized tray to load the ammo into the magazine. They offer a loader (limited) if you really struggle loading ammo, but i realized its a sort of push in before the dip and then push again in the back sort of slide action. The shooting itself is pretty simple but can make tired arms. Do choose a target with a bright spot in the middle or where you want to aim as you will be rather cross eyed. No rush, do it at your own pace and then pay at the end (not time limit if not busy, just material fees). There is a 2.75 card fee surcharge and keep in mind of taxes. Basic ammo $28, the $8 ones are smaller and less accurate/get jammed easily so not recommended. You rent one gun at a time ( maybe can buy more) and switch it out. They have guns not allowed to be carried in california. As a girl, I felt very safe here and no one was judgemental or haughty. In this place, everyone is respected. The owners (i think) are an old asian couple hehe so cute, but the workers all chill young dudes. Everyone kept to themselves casual/practicing and it was a good vibe. Recommend trying this for a date night or hangout if you can afford to!

I've been going to ISR for many years. Very professional staff. To check in, you wait at the front entrance to be signaled in to the counter. You will get assigned a lane if one is available or they will notify you when one becomes available. There are 20 lanes. The range fee is for the lane versus paying per hour. My cost for the lane plus 1 target was $23.94. They do have a parking lot. However, if the lot is full, there's plenty of street parking. Once in a while, they'll have a CCW class doing their shooting. That's when the wait for a lane will be much longer.

I was being referred to come to this shooting range to practice. There were plenty of parking spots. The small garden at the parking caught my eyes. It was well maintained. I checked-in with the staff. Staff is very nice and respectful. They are very knowledgeable about guns as well. They also provided ear muffs and safety glasses. There are a big varieties of guns/shotguns/rifles for rental. There are also interesting targets (e.g. Star War) available for purchase. Price was reasonable. I enjoyed my experience here. Will come back to practice again.

Been going for about a year, guys behind the counter and RSO's are informative and super chill as long as you're not doing anything dangerous. Like any other indoor range they check ammo, but generally don't care what firearms you bring, most I've gotten is "Oh dude is that a X? Sweet." On the firing line. I only shoot pistols here, rifle and shotgun ammo must be bought from them (no thanks.). 25 yard range, ventilation is pretty good but FT3 in Stanton is definitely better. In the firing line the marks for distances are numbers on the wall for yardages with lines painted across the floor for reference. I typically pay $25-28 for a lane and 2-3 paper targets, if you want to bring your own it must be approved by them. Only thing that might be a turn off is the fact that it isn't the prettiest range, and the furnishings are pretty lackluster. I've never seen a chair on the firing line and there are wood benches about 10 feet behind the line. But for the value, solid target selection and good options for rentals (Glocks, M&P's, 1911's, revolvers, many more) you can't really beat it as a regular without spending significantly more for a club membership or range fees elsewhere.

Such a Fun and Unique Date Night! My husband and I decided to try something different for date night, and visiting Insight Shooting Range was such an awesome experience! It was our first time at a shooting range, and we had no experience, but the guys at the front were incredibly helpful. They took the time to teach us how to handle the guns safely and gave us clear instructions. Safety and respect are key here, and as long as you follow the rules, you'll have an amazing time! Everyone was super friendly, and we felt comfortable and well taken care of the entire time. We had such a great time and will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun and exciting experience!

I've been to the range several times, mostly on weekends, and today for the first time during the week. All of my experiences have been pleasant but the knowledgeable staff definitely has more time to impart all their knowledge when it's less busy so if you can come mid week, you will get more attention if you need that. I'm not completely inexperienced but I go shooting infrequently so I still get nervous and have a lot of respect for gun safety. The staff did not talk down to me but instead wanted to help and educate. So if you are new, don't be intimidated. They are approachable. As a woman in male dominated space, I can encounter macho BS, but not here. If you are shopping for a weapon, this is also a great resource for testing out firearms. I tried 3 different pistols while there today. There is plenty of parking and I love that they have a vegetable garden too. The jalapenos are looking good!

No lie, this place is actually pretty awesome. I've been to a couple shooting ranges before, and for some reason a lot of them tend to have that same vibe where the staff acts too cool just because they have a gun on their hip or know more about firearms than the average person. Insight Shooting Range in Artesia was the complete opposite. From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel welcomed, safe, and comfortable. Natalie especially was super helpful, educational, and easy to talk to. You can tell the staff here genuinely enjoy what they do and actually care about teaching people the right way instead of trying to intimidate anyone. The whole process is smooth and easy. Of course safety is taken seriously, which is exactly how it should be, but overall it's very easy to walk in, shoot, and get out without any stress. Their gun rentals are also very reasonable and affordable. Every time I come here it's always a breeze. Great environment, great people, and honestly one of the few ranges that makes you feel comfortable whether you're experienced or newer to shooting. Definitely recommend checking this place out. read more

If you're in the area and looking for a gun ran range, this is the spot. Saturday mornings can get real busy and there might be a wait, but it's not that bad. Prices are standard for a typical shooting range. However, I can't give this place a 5 star because other rangers have set the bar pretty high when it comes to appearance. This place needs a complete facelift and cleaning. read more

Such a fun date night at Insight Shooting Range. It was my first time ever at a shooting range and I didn't know what to expect. This turned out to be such a good learning experience that was also really engaging. When you get to the range, they'll basically set you up with any equipment you'll need. You will also have to give your ID and sign a liability form. We spent about 1.5 hours here and it was plenty of time. It was great time of building adrenaline, focusing and sharpening aim and conversation! Perfect spot for a unique and different date. read more

Professional, no frills and easily accessible! I met with friends who are out of town and we came in on a Saturday and had about a 30-45 min wait during the middle of the day but right after it seemed to die down. You CAN bring your own ammo but have to purchase shotgun ammo in house. Will definitely be coming back for a casual range day when I'm back in town ! read more

I showed up for the first time, without notice, and it was packed due to the holiday. Despite being packed, we were able to secure a lane. There's at least what felt like 20+ lanes. This range is indoor, very clean, and the staff is extremely polite, helpful and friendly. One of my buddies was from out of town, and wanted to shoot a .45 so we shot various 9s, and .45's The range has a wide selection of guns to rent, a wide selection of targets for purchase and ammo on site available for purchase. Ear and eye protection is also available, if you happen to make a spontaneous trip. We were there for hours, having our fun and enjoyed the range. I also noticed that they do provide private lessons for $45/hour which need to be scheduled in advance (as a heads up for those who might be interested). read more

This place is a hidden gem among all the SoCal indoor shooting ranges. The place is fairly clean, not super run down and prices are pretty fair, most places charge by the hour but in here you can stay the entire day if you want for $23 plus whatever amount in ammo and paper targets. You can use your own ammo (full metal jacket/brass case only) minus long rifles you have to buy theirs. Staff is super chill and check in is pretty easy, parking is also plenty (although they get fill up fast). read more

It's the best indoor range I'll been too. The staff is great and the price is reasonable. I'll been to most range in Southern California and this is the best. The weekend is a longer wait that's the only drawback. read more

Workers could not have been more full of themselves. Came in for a casual shooting-range experience with some friends and the workers were big-headed men with insane egos. Just plain rude, simple-minded men who could not care less about being courteous or respectful to patrons. Suggestion, maybe don't speak ill of people paying your paycheck when other people are around to hear it. Just weak minded individuals. Tighten up yall. read more

This place is probably fine for casual shooters but if you're used to shooting in a tactical setting and if your Rifle is kitted to the nines prepare to get looked at funny, not being able to shoot your own range ammo for rifles is a straight up scam especially in today's economy, it takes 5 seconds to check ammo for steel core if that's what they are so worried about. Would avoid this place if you are trying to train seriously. If your just there for fun then I guess give it a shot read more

A great place to practice your shooting. You'd be surprised how well the barriers between the booths mitigate and lessen the sound. Been to an outdoor range and somehow that was much worse. I'd still recommend bringing ear plugs though along with the noise cancelling headphones. Prices here are good, and guns are mostly in great condition. Staff is also pretty dang helpful and friendly. They don't sneer at ya or make you feel like you don't belong there. You'd be surprised how some places treat you. Brought both a friend and relative here to shoot, and they had a great time. Whether you're an experienced shooter or newcomer, I'd definitely recommend this place. read more

My nephew brought me here as a birthday gift this past weekend 10/05/25. For reference, I've been shooting on and off since I was 19. This was a great experience. It was not overcrowded, the clientele was diverse, the staff were friendly and professional. I really appreciated their call-outs on gun safety of non-safe patrons. They seemed pro-active and kept the place tidy, with frequent sweeps. I plan to come back and bring my friend. read more

I always try to go in the morning to beat the crowds. But never fails that their ventilation system is "having issues" turning away a lot of customers. It's pretty annoying when you make it early then force to go during peak times having to wait a couple hours for a lane. At that point I'm over it. I'm sure you guys get a lot of business. I don't see why you can't upgrade your facility. And it really needs an upgrade grade. Same lanes from when my dad brought me when I was little early 1900s. Lol read more

This is our usual go to for a quick trip to the range. It's local, clean & the staff is very professional. However, the last few times we've gone - the lanes next to us were not experienced shooters & it was terrible. I get it, you go to a range to practice... & I am learning myself .... BUT - firearm safety should be a priority. For EVERYONE there - especially the staff. There were 2 times we had to ask the lane next to us to keep their firearm down the lane & keep their fingers off the trigger. It was so obvious the one "instructing" had zero knowledge himself. Then the lane on the other side, a female came- shot off one round and immediately pointed her firearm out of her lane. The guy she was with grabbed her arm and was like what are you doing!!!?? We were sandwiched between 2 groups of people unable to even hold the firearm properly. We left. Maybe had a lane for 20-30 mins. How the staff didn't see any of this is beyond me. Hope they pay closer attention before something happens. Place is a good spot, maybe not on a weekend.... Maybe when the staff isn't stretched out so thin. Probably won't be back read more

Went to the nearest shooting range to test fire my Smith & Wesson MP9 1.0 I recently purchased. The customer service was great, was greeted upon arrival and was in my shooting stall within 5 minutes. Place was clean, and well ventilated. If you are renting, they have plenty of options to choose from if you are a first time shooter or regular testing out different brands. I brought my own 9mm ammunition, so pricing was affordable. read more

I was introduced to Insight by a buddy of mine. Needless to say, Insight is one of the top Indoor Shooting ranges in SoCal (been to the others and they are typically overly priced and have strange policies, like only using their ammo). Their staff and environment are reasonably strict, knowledgeable, and friendly! I normally go here for the shooting environment and great range pricing as well. They allow you to bring your own ammo as long as it meets their requirements (non-steelcore, brass casing, etc.) They have a wide selection of firearms to rent and, of course, you can bring your own. Overall, in my opinion, one of the best (if not the best) indoor ranges in SoCal! Highly recommended! read more

My father bought me a basic training course for Christmas for us to get our fire arm license. We trained with unified tactical defense for the Basic Pistol Course. Sledge is a great instructor. Super experienced and just an all star teacher. Almost everyone in the class had no experience but we left feeling confident and ready to practice independently. I'm going to be going back for his other training courses. read more

Great range, knowledgeable staff. However, they charged me $31 for a box of .380 ACP. They did not tell me the price up front, I suppose in hindsight I should've asked, but when I got my receipt, I thought I was accidentally double-charged, so I called them to try to sort it out. I was received VERY rudely, and am super dissapointed-- both with the .62 cent-per-round ammo, AND the rude staff. Stay away, buy your ammo elsewhere. Such a shithole way to make profit. Only added an extra star because the range genuinely is pretty nice. read more

This place has terrible service.. the staff there are very rude. Do NOT spend your money and time there.. I had filled up a form incorrectly and while I was explaining of or the staff said " STOP TALKING" another occasion I witness a staff telling a girl to leave because she " smelled like alcohol " which to me she looked perfectly fine.. read more

I've been going there for about a year now. The guys behind the counter are very knowledgeable, very helpful. They do have a nice variety of firearms that you can rent. Rental fees are really not expensive as well as the lane fee. I would really recommend this place. read more

It sounded like they made special accommodations for myself and some other shooters, by opening up the "tactical" range, since there were no members shooting at that time. That was awesome, because it got me on the range sooner. I also brought with me a new firearm - Canik Mete MC9LS with a new optic. I forgot my regular range bag with my tools; however, the range staff allowed me to use one of their tools to adjust my new optic. I don't know how the targets move on the regular range, but on the tactical range, you can push buttons to automatically set the targets at a specified distance, move the targets manually back and forth, and automatically have the target return. Best of all, the prices were very reasonable. $20 per lane and $0.50 targets - WAAAAAY better than prices in the Bay Area. If I were a resident of the area, I'd definitely become a member. Kevin signed me up for a lane, let me rent a couple of handgun models I researched previously, and critiqued my targets, giving some general feedback and advice. He also pointed me toward a couple other models that are known to be more friendly to left-handed shooters that I can test out in the future. Great place; a little on the older and smaller sides, but staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. The trip to the gun range gave me a chance to put into practice what she taught us. She's ex-military so if you feel like you're in boot camp while at the range, it's all good. She wants to make sure that you learn safety not only for yourself, but for others around you. An added benefit, for an additional cost, you can also get your Firearm Safety Certificate. First time gun buyer, and I didn't know what to expect. The gentleman that helped me was blunt but…read morehelpful. I probably annoyed him because I signed the wrong spot on the paper and it was near closing time. However, that doesn't take away from the process of how helpful the staff is when it comes to helping you out with your purchases or anything related to the sales of guns. Here's the process for all customers I think and first time buyers will be detailed below: Oh first thing is first, you'll need: - Have your invoice (if you order online) and let the clerk know where you ordered it from: Their website (Ammo Bros) or a third party website. This will help the clerk find the gun easier. - Picture ID (Driver's Licenses) - Secondary form of ID w/ address (Car registration, utility bill etc) - F.S.C. Card (if you do not have this, they will provide a test for you which will extend the processing time by at least 15-30 minutes. You'll need to take the test and someone needs to grade it.) 1. Sign in on the sign in sheet, and put down what you are here for. In my case, picking up a gun. If you haven't filled out any paperwork I'd put down paperwork to pick up gun or something to that effect to lessen confusion. In my case, I had to fill out paperwork, take the Firearms Safety Certification Test ($2 for a laminate copy). Then submit paperwork for a background check. This process varies (in my experience probably 1.5 hrs not including wait times). 2. The Firearms Safety Certification test is common sense (to me) and very straight-forward. Individual results may vary. 3. The background check is pretty standard but read through it carefully and make sure to fill out every line except M2 (the clerk will tell you too), it'll save them a lot of time and make the process smoother. 4. When signing papers, make sure to sign the right spot. This is the part where I messed up on and signed the "Sales" line instead of the "Transfer" line. I auto piloted at this point because I was super hungry and was still recovering from being sick. My bad! But please read before signing and ask (better to be annoying than to drag out the processing time). 5. They'll let you know when pick up the gun. Some advice: If you're picking up a gun and haven't filled out paperwork, slot at least 2 hours to do the paperwork process. Don't arrive 5 minutes before closing. They'll say 30 minutes but I think it's better to give them 1.5 hours to process. There's numerous factors: - Other customers - Paperwork processing - Murphy's law: What can go wrong will go wrong, better to be safe than sorry Overall, the store is clean, they have a number of guns in the store (I'm not really gun savvy yet). There were some missing items from the shelves but I think if you need basic things like magazines, sights, bags, containers, and gun cleaning supplies. They all should be fairly easy to find. The store is also under construction so expect loud noises like drilling and hammers. They have a bunch of different types of ammo behind the sales desk/counter. I know for sure they have 9MM since that was what I was looking to get. I'll update next week when I'm able to pick up the pistol about the pick up process. TLDR: Read the requirements of what to bring. Slot 2 hours for the paperwork process and wait times. Do not show up 5 minutes before closing (7PM). Sign the right boxes and of course read what you're signing. And sign up when you get there.

I had planned to attend a training in late February, so based on that timeline I expected to have my handgun back by the end of January. We are now approaching 15 weeks, and my firearm is still not ready. Can't even reschedule my class as the staff has been unable to give me a date each time I've called. I didn't want to leave a negative review because my previous experiences here have been great, but this delay is honestly unreasonable. If I would have known the turn around time I would have skipped on services. A friend of mine dropped off his handgun at a different shop for the same services and had it back within a month. I am paying full price for 2 of the 3 services so I might as well have just taken it to the other shop.. I would still consider purchasing items from this store, but unfortunately I will most likely not be returning here for gunsmithing services.

Insight is a fantastic shooting range. They have a great selection, the staff members are very knowledgeable and know what they're talking about. One thing that is great about Insight is that they do not charge an hourly fee, just one flat rate and you can shoot all their rental handguns. Its only 5 bucks extra to try your hand at a carbine or shotgun. The range itself is very clean, employees constantly swept up empty cases in there. They have "fun" targets there along with regular bullseye targets. Although it says "not kid friendly" on yelp, my inexperienced 11 year old brother came with us and the staff did not shoo him away, he ended up shooting a Kimber 1911 .45 ACP. They have a wide range of rental handguns, including many Glocks, Beretta, Sig-Sauer, and Ruger and Smith & Wesson revolvers and Mark 3 target pistols. The only negative is trying to find the place, especially if you are unfamiliar with the area. You have to pass by a big dairy factory down a long road to get there, but once you do, its good good fun, and kid friendly too (for a 10 year old + kid) read more

Many have offered reviews for the facility and staff. I would like to offer a review for the training class. We're I Siskel and Eibert, training course would get an enthusiastic two thumbs-up . Jim is definitely professional and knowledgeable. He took me through the basics of safety and handling. He cuts you past all the Hollywood garbage and tells you what you need to be able to shoot a gun confidently and accurately. As a teacher myself, I am greatly pleased with the method of instruction and sequence of information. I definitely have a whole new appreciation for firearms usage as an art form, similar to the martial arts. He doesn't give you more than what you need to get the job done and he does not try to load you up with hours of unnecessary courses and time-wasters. He is reasonably-priced. I am more than satisfied and recommend him to any first-time gun users. read more

OMG. So much fun. Came here with my buddy and we shot some rounds just for fun. We shot a Sig 229 Enhanced Elite and Glock 9mm. MEMBERSHIP: There are several Firing-Line ranges. You can buy a membership to shoot for free. My friend had it. The paper targets are funny as well or maybe because i have never really seen on up close after i fire 50 rounds into one, hahahaha!. We go in and I sign my information down for them. We go inside and we load the bullets at the station. (You can ONLY load at the station). TWO or THREE TO A STATION So we load it and take turns shooting. It was awesome! I shot pretty well. :D Assassin training :D for me... prepping for the zombies. :D They have several stations, so it's pretty cool. There is a waiting area with a TV before entrance for people to wait. Very cool set up. Worth it! read more

We visited this shooting range Saturday, 10/29 for one of my friend's birthday excursion stops, and there were approximately 11 of us girls. The instructor was very patient with us in instructing us how to hold, load and fire the guns, as this was the first time for many of us. I did pretty good if I do say so myself for it to have been the first time that I have held and fired a gun...The experience was Awesome and everything I'd imagine it would be. I found the price to be very reasonable for a hobby, and I gave it 4 stars as I don't have anywhere else to compare it to, but I will definitely be back. read more

This place is nice and clean. They have wide variety of hand guns you can choose from. The good part is you pay a flat fee rate for gun rental and you have access to all their rifle/ just return the one you're using and ask for another one at no charge un-like other places i've been too. But you can only take one gun at a time. The price is decent 3 different guns, 3 targets, 250 rounds was $121. They also sell hand gun which they had good deals on too. read more

I've been going here or 4 years now. Excellent place to rent firearms or bring your own. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only thing I dislike is that you cannot use your own shotgun ammo or take pictures.. It's understandable so they don't loose a star. read more

DARN they wouldn't let me shoot because I went by myself... not much on showroom floor to look at... but watched the shooters on the range for a while... Place was busy, prices looked average. read more

This place sucks, the guys in the front are rude. They have new rule you can't rent a gun or practice if you are by your self. At least they should have a sign saying there policy and rules. read more
