First time gun buyer, and I didn't know what to expect. The gentleman that helped me was blunt but helpful. I probably annoyed him because I signed the wrong spot on the paper and it was near closing time. However, that doesn't take away from the process of how helpful the staff is when it comes to helping you out with your purchases or anything related to the sales of guns. Here's the process for all customers I think and first time buyers will be detailed below: Oh first thing is first, you'll need: - Have your invoice (if you order online) and let the clerk know where you ordered it from: Their website (Ammo Bros) or a third party website. This will help the clerk find the gun easier. - Picture ID (Driver's Licenses) - Secondary form of ID w/ address (Car registration, utility bill etc) - F.S.C. Card (if you do not have this, they will provide a test for you which will extend the processing time by at least 15-30 minutes. You'll need to take the test and someone needs to grade it.) 1. Sign in on the sign in sheet, and put down what you are here for. In my case, picking up a gun. If you haven't filled out any paperwork I'd put down paperwork to pick up gun or something to that effect to lessen confusion. In my case, I had to fill out paperwork, take the Firearms Safety Certification Test ($2 for a laminate copy). Then submit paperwork for a background check. This process varies (in my experience probably 1.5 hrs not including wait times). 2. The Firearms Safety Certification test is common sense (to me) and very straight-forward. Individual results may vary. 3. The background check is pretty standard but read through it carefully and make sure to fill out every line except M2 (the clerk will tell you too), it'll save them a lot of time and make the process smoother. 4. When signing papers, make sure to sign the right spot. This is the part where I messed up on and signed the "Sales" line instead of the "Transfer" line. I auto piloted at this point because I was super hungry and was still recovering from being sick. My bad! But please read before signing and ask (better to be annoying than to drag out the processing time). 5. They'll let you know when pick up the gun. Some advice: If you're picking up a gun and haven't filled out paperwork, slot at least 2 hours to do the paperwork process. Don't arrive 5 minutes before closing. They'll say 30 minutes but I think it's better to give them 1.5 hours to process. There's numerous factors: - Other customers - Paperwork processing - Murphy's law: What can go wrong will go wrong, better to be safe than sorry Overall, the store is clean, they have a number of guns in the store (I'm not really gun savvy yet). There were some missing items from the shelves but I think if you need basic things like magazines, sights, bags, containers, and gun cleaning supplies. They all should be fairly easy to find. The store is also under construction so expect loud noises like drilling and hammers. They have a bunch of different types of ammo behind the sales desk/counter. I know for sure they have 9MM since that was what I was looking to get. I'll update next week when I'm able to pick up the pistol about the pick up process. TLDR: Read the requirements of what to bring. Slot 2 hours for the paperwork process and wait times. Do not show up 5 minutes before closing (7PM). Sign the right boxes and of course read what you're signing. And sign up when you get there. read more

Customer service is terrible at this location. It's not staffed well, and the staff member I dealt with was not only ignorant of state laws regarding off-roster private party transfers, but he was downright rude. After presenting a weapon in its case to the staff for clearance, the seller and I were told derringers are illegal to transfer in California, and abruptly told to get out off the store! You would think I came in with an assault weapon to transfer. This is not the first time I have experienced or witnessed this type of bad service at AB, but it will be the last. This place is being run by employees that are severely undertrained. I was conducting a PPT with a family member and all I was told was they needed just my DL as the seller for the transfer. 10 days pass by and my brother in law is picking up and the store is telling him he cannot pickup his firearm he purchased because there are missing documents conducted in the transfer. I was later called because the store is scrambling for more documents they didn't submit THAT THEY NEVER ASKED FOR. If documents are needed why wouldn't you tell us you needed them? On top of all that hassle, they give us the wrong papers. We leave the store after picking up the firearm then get a call 20 minutes later that we need to come back because they gave us the wrong papers that were intended for another customer and they needed it back. What a nightmare from start to finish all because the employees in here are not trained properly and do not pay attention to detail and end up costing the customers more trouble. Had some time before work today so I checked out the cerritos ammo bros. After the Santa Ana store closed, cerritos is now the fishing tackle location. Much smaller store overall compared to Santa Ana, but bigger than Ontario or riverside. Limited selection of fishing tackle. I didn't make any purchases today, nothing that I found was something that I couldn't live without. Prices are competitive for what they stock. I also perused the guns and firearm accessories section of the store. Honestly it seems like the selection is smaller in that department than it used to be, but that might just be my memory. Half the staff are helpful; the other half are punks. I went in to pick up my 12-gauge, and it took what felt like an hour or two. While waiting, I was with a friend, and one of the employees was talking to a couple and laughing, looking at us, saying something about how I wasn't going to get my gun anyway. I walked in needing help on my P229 slide, Miguel and Martin were extremely helpful. They never pushed any of their products- simply made suggestions; they even recommended a local gunsmith who they thought might help. I don't know if it's under new management, but these guys are definitely better than the previous ones! They listen to the customer and don't come off as gun snobs. I like to support locally owned businesses, but each time I've come here has been a complete letdown. I ignored all the negative reviews about their customer service, but they couldn't have been more accurate. They have a good selection but their bad attitudes ruin the whole experience. When you walk in, everybody makes eye contact with you but nobody greets you and they just expect you to know where to sign in to get help. Even when you do sign in, they'll keep you waiting for 30+ minutes with nowhere to sit and then help people that have signed in after you. Everybody in here acts like a know-it-all, but they can't seem to even get a simple queue process in order. And don't bother trying to call ahead of time to check their stock, they won't pickup the phone. Management needs to stock up on more accessories as new guns hit the roster. I would shop here more but the selection is small. Prices on ammo is a bit pricey compared to Turners or Bass Pro. Picked up a Holosun SCS Carry optic today. I've been looking for this optic but it was sold out everywhere. I contacted Ammo Bros on Reddit yesterday and they reserved an SCS Carry for me. I drove to Cerritos this morning, told them my name, and they brought the box out to me with my name on it. I'm so stoked! Thanks Ammo Brah's! In addition to the Holosun SCS Carry, I bought a few boxes of 9mm and was very happy with the stock available. They also gave me a 5% military discount, which isn't a ton but it's something. There were a couple new employees being trained but this wasn't a problem at all. Everyone was very respectful and helpful. There was plenty of parking and the Ammo Bros store itself was very spacious with tons of room to walk around. There were plenty of firearms for sale and a large selection of firearm accessories. Wow the customer service is not good. I just got off the phone with a lady who was very rude. I asked her if she could check if my gun that I ordered was still at their facility or if it was shipped to my stores location for the special order. She kept stating that I was incorrectly saying things. I gave her the benefit of the doubt. After several minutes of trying to articulate my need she then stated that the bag that I ordered did not ship. At this moment, I knew she was unhelpful, clearly out of it and did not remember why I called in the first place. I told her that I was talking about a firearm. She said that I kept saying she needed to confirm who she was talking to and that I had called earlier about a bag. I told her that I was on hold for 12 minutes and had to hang up because I couldn't wait any longer. I never talked to anyone. I had to call back. She insisted that she talked to me then eventually gave up and said she checked the back for my gun but it wasn't there. Which is odd because she went from talking about a bag to instantly checking within seconds to see no gun..? I will never buy from Ammo Brothers again and will not recommend it to anyone else. read more

Some of the staff are helpful, but the rest seems like they hate their job and want to be somewhere else. They're ALWAYS under staffed! There were 10 people waiting with 2 people at the counter being helped by 2 guys. While waiting , make sure you hold going to the restroom, because there are no restrooms available to customers. One must drive to the Del Taco at the corner- hoping you don't loose your place line. Horrible experience here- go somewhere else where your business is wanted. read more

I would leave zero stars but that isn't an option on here. I hate to be that guy leaving a bad review but for anyone purchasing a handgun make sure they explain everything to you before hand about what is needed to purchase a handgun and if those document will get you out the door with your firearm in 10 days. I purchased a firearm waited the 10 days and had to refund it because the employee who was trying so hard to push the sale on me failed to explain that my vehicle registration would not allow me to take my gun home after 10 days because it wasn't active for another month or so even after paying the dmv and the employee accepting my payment and processing everything with that same vehicle registration he claimed would work. I ended up refunding the firearm and lost 158 dollars to ammo bros. Beware of them having inexperienced employees who do not know the complete process of selling firearms and beware of them trying to sell you most expensive guns. I'm glad I didn't purchase the expensive gun he offered me otherwise I would have lost a lot more money. I ended up walking out with less money in my wallet, no firearm or store credit on anything even as a courtesy for being a mistake on there end. I went in with a friend to buy ammo on 11/18/2022. The reason we went was to save a couple bucks on ammo vs buying it in the range for a mark up. My friend got denied because he did not have a real ID which is acceptable but I made a comment saying "real ID is a scam anyways" messing around with my friend not being serious but the employee gave me a lecture on how it wasn't. Then when I proceed to buy ammo because I did have a valid real ID he said you know I can deny you for anything on buying ammo and said it is a straw purchase. His ego trip was crazy I would have spend the extra $20 dollars at the range then have someone lecture me and listen into my conversation.The only reason I am leaving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the girl at reception was nice a friendly. Didn't get his name but was a chubby guy with glasses maybe white/Hispanic and with a Peter griffin size build. Your employees should not be narcissistic and ego maniac because of their political views, I can always buy my stuff somewhere else or pay a premium at the range. I try to be frugal but will defiantly pay for more for good service. I'll be honest, I wanted to like this place. I really did and had high hopes, but alas, my last visit had me feel different at the end. I walk up and am greeted with a long line out the door. Mind you, this was during Covid and I totally understand the store capacity limit and social distancing that we all had to follow. It was here that I was told to sign in. The guy asked me what I was there for and I said 9mm ammo. He sounded like he was reading a mental script because his response was automatic and almost robot-like: "we have 9mm rounds at 50 rounds a case. $85.00. Hollow- point only.". I thought well, I'm here, I may as well see what else they have. I did stay and went inside. It was a circus. People were almost panic buying ammo. There were a lot of handguns in stocks as well as parts. I also saw why the line was out the door and not moving very fast. Due to processing and having to deal with the red tape that lawmakers have enacted for firearm sales, it was taking a while. I kind of felt bad for the cashiers. I paid for my ammo and was told it would be ready anywhere from 1-3 weeks. If you're familiar with firearm sales regulations, you know why. Again, I completely understood this. Edit: unless you have purchased a firearm in the last 5 years (I have not) you will have to wait out the background check process. If you have purchased a firearm in the last 5 years, you can leave the store ammo in hand the same day. My issue is with the price gouging. I went elsewhere and spent $30 for the same amount of rounds. I didn't take any pictures because of the sensitive nature of firearms to other people. I hope you understand. It was clean and orderly inside. The staff is professional, I just wish the price for ammo was a little more reasonable. read more
