I took the basic firearms safety course at Rogers Defense and I was not disappointed. This is a family owned business, therefore you get that personal vibe when inside of the facility. Being new to the world of firearms, I took their course because I was seeking education and looking for answers to some specific questions. The course was extremely informational. Rogers Defense did a great job at reviewing the laws and overall guiding the course for a couple of beginners in the class. I highly recommend taking the course with other people because you can gain more knowledge from their questions and how they respond in the MILO virtual training simulator. The training simulator was a great addition to the course and the best part! I honestly learned a lot about myself in the simulator and it opened my eyes to how much more I want/need to learn about safe firearms handling in various situations. The course really helped with passing the certification test (I also did practice tests at home), which I took immediately after the class. We brought our 2 teenage boys and we did not know what to expect but Todd and his wife Sally were very Knowledgeable, patient and friendly. I had no idea what I was doing, what I needed, how to apply for a gun, ZERO CLUE and Todd and Sally were instrumental in helping me find the gun that suited me. I asked a ton of questions, and they had a ton of answers and shared their vast knowledge with me. They were very patient and Todd even assisted me over the phone after I purchased my gun. If you look up customer service in the dictionary, there may be a picture of Todd and Sally there! The guide they have on their website for the FSC test is also very helpful! Being someone who isn't new to guns but new to being a gun owner - I didn't know that much beyond how big I wanted my handgun to be and a price range I wanted to stay within. Todd, is beyond knowledgeable but he's patient and takes his time to be sure you know what you need to know in order to buy what suits you. I remember reading Todd's bio on yelp, and I can confirm that he does provide a FRIENDLY and stress free environment where you will not be harassed for any question that you ask. This is significant due to the fact that you are not buying a toy and Todd enables you to feel comfortable with handling your firearm. The service offered was Indeed a 10/10. Todd was patient, informative, and most importantly, he was genuinely interested in what he does I was told by a friend of mine not to shop for guns, but to hunt for the best service. Rogers Defense was the service that I was looking for. Don't just show up though, you have to make an appointment. Each appointment takes approximately one hour (based on my experience). This includes, registration, exam, and training. I called Sunday, made appointment for Monday. However, I had to cancel Monday, and had to wait till Wednesday. So make an appointment! I randomly selected Rogers Defense as my FFL due to their location when I purchased my first firearm. I'm so glad that I did! This is not a gun store. You will get personal attention from owners Todd and his wife Sally. They were very patient with this first-timer and Todd guided me through all of the required paperwork...told me exactly what documents were the best to bring with me for CA. Sally called when my background check cleared and I was finally able to make an appointment to pick up my gun. I'd been looking into the process of purchasing ammo and it seemed daunting--not to mention HARD TO GET IN CA! Before hanging up with Sally I asked about ammunition, about 10 seconds later she told me I was in luck; there was one box of the caliber I needed and she would hold it for me! Wow! Found out about Rogers defense products on yelp and after some bad experiences with a few other shops I decided to give this place a shot. Upon making contact with Todd I noticed that he seemed to be very serious about helping me and had great customer service skills. We set up an appointment for me to come by and start the process of getting a Glock 21 gen 4. But because of California's strict gun laws it's not available in this state. But I had a good experience dealing with Todd and will definitely be visiting the shop again when this gun becomes available or if I find anything else that I may be interested in. After months of research I decided to go with the Springfield xd 45. I got In contact with Mr Rogers and let him know what I wanted and the lowest price that I had seen on the web and he beat that price for me. Went in did paperwork and paid. Went back 2 days later when he got the firearm to make sure it was the right one, did some more paperwork and left on my 10 day DOJ background check and waiting period. After the 10 days was up I went back and picked up my peace of mind/ home protection and I am very satisfied with the whole transaction. Made so.many calls told by many dont have it and it be a year to get were simply out of stock, or if we did find we were told oh you gotta come to store and pick up we don't do transfers.
