If you're looking for a great place to get firearms in the South Bay, stop looking and come over to CAP tactical! I felt WELCOMED the moment I stepped into the store, due to the professionalism of the staff. Nothing is more important to me than great customer service. I couldn't get the guns I wanted due to the CA bans, but I am a man with backup plans! I already did research on a 2nd, and 3rd gun. One of my paperwork wasn't good, but I had a backup utility bill Thanks to Patrick for your help, professionalism, knowledge, and patience! A+ service read more

The professionalism of the shop workers is good. They were polite and helpful. Recently I made a 2k purchase from them for 2 handguns, both came with a green dot already attached. 1st time taking then to the range (3 days after pick up) the glass from one of them popped out while shooting it. When I go back to the shop (as it occurred on a Friday, noticed Saturday, shop was closed Sun & Mon, so couldn't talk to them until Tuesday), their response was "call the manufacturer, they mail a piece to us for you to come pick up". This is insane as I literally just purchased the weapons from you. You bought them from the manufacturer, and I did business with you. This is poor business. Had I had the guns longer than a week or two I would understand. It hasn't even been 7 days and you can't help resolve my issue vs. just pushing me out the door. read more

Nice people to deal with. Helpful, anc very accomidating. I have purchased guns here and done private party transfers.

Bad experience from start to finish. We came in for a PPT and waited nearly an hour while the staff talked with someone who wasn't making a purchase. They weren't friendly or welcoming and seemed much more attentive to regulars or people they knew. They took the seller's ID right away, but only checked my information much later. They then denied the PPT because my California driver's license was missing a space in my last name, even though my passport card and FSC showed my correct legal name. They explicitly stated that the ATF does not allow this exact situation, but four other FFLs had no issue with the same documents and I could not find any ATF guidance supporting that claim. It felt like an excuse rather than a legitimate requirement. Had I been buying directly from them instead of bringing in a $10 PPT, I doubt this would have been handled the same way. I won't be returning. read more

Love love love this establishment. This family business is an absolute gem, the staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable. Bill is my favorite!!! As a girl who felt intimidated going out on my own and looking into becoming a gun owner for my own home safety reassurances, I can honestly say I am so thankful to have found a place like Cap Tactical. I was able to take my test here, no appointment needed. Buying a handgun here was very smooth and professional, they offer a very nice variety of handguns and riffles; nice variety of accessories aswell! Any recommendations they give you are solely for your best interest, It's refreshing to get that side of someone in a business. Anything you could need for your first visit to the range is sold here. Everything is reasonably priced. I cannot recommend this place enough. Parking is fairly easy to find. read more

This place is great! Dealt with Will you walked me thru the process of buying my second handgun. A nice stainless Springfield Armory 1911. Great price and set me up to take my test which I aced 30/30. Wasn't that good a student growing up. Didn't have to wait and was not rushed. Turners and Bass both suck compared to working with a small business like Cap Tactical. read more

CAP Tactical Firearms - What I bought. She's a beauty - Guns & Ammo Near Me - Lawndale, California

Went to store to buy gun. And saw the price on display for 850. The rep said its cause we put a red dot on it. I said said i want the one online. The rep said its cause your looking at a non ca compliant. I showed him the screenshot and he proceeded to say thats the plain gun no red dot. Thats what I wanted the other rep stated those are 799. Then the rep that was helping me said "we haven't used the website in 3 years" . But failed to mention it until I called him out and showed them the site. Terrible business sense. He said the website is not in your favor.. I know I know its a gun store but if this was a first customer experience, this store won't last this 2026 economy. Thanks read more

Awful service and Will is especially bad. Bought a new sig P320 from them which had a trigger issuer that I found from day one of shooting it. Brought it to them to discuss why I was sold this firearm that clearly feels wrong. Will told me "Just send it back to Sig and they'll fix it." When I told him I was annoyed with the fact that there was no inspection on their end before selling to me, and now I have to go and wait and send this back. He then replied "I don't even feel bad when this happens to someone because it happens so rarely" Rather than causing a storm after that comment, I took my gun and left. Will Never return, and will never recommend any of my friends to go there ever again. Will is a bad employee with zero customer service skills or even care. read more

First time buyer. Really didn't know what I was in for as far as the process to even acquire a firearm, HOWEVER.. I can't remember their names but they are son & father and they were a great help. They guided me through the process EVERY single step of the way and I haven't ever felt this comfortable, especially that they are veterans and I am simply a novice so it really meant a lot and their kindness and knowledge goes a long way. Their core values really show in their demeanor and character when dealing with customers and the value of the firearm itself wasn't as much as I thought. Price was right, firearm was perfect fit and just an overall great experience. I will be going to them for any and everything firearm related. read more

I have purchased two firearms here a few years apart. When you find what you want on their website it's best to email them for the current prices and availability. Extremely professional, courteous, and knowledgeable staff. Their prices beat competitors. A+ experience. Would highly recommend giving them your business. read more

Good selection of firearms. Took my certificate test here and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Prices a bit higher than Turner's but the experience is SO much better than the Torrance Turner's. Ugh. The Norwalk Turner's is great however. I came here to take my FSC test since usually my goto place would be turners, but we all know how long it can take there lol. Anyways I was able to finish everything in probably under 10 mins or so. They do offer services to laminate your card for 1.25 which I highly recommend if you do not have access to a machine to keep that paper card safe. read more

This is a service shop to buy weapons and ammunition. I want a pistol so I can keep it peaceful with range shooting and gun care classes first. I'm 70 next year and I get bored a lot. It's definitely a family shop and the owner is really nice. He gave me a certificate to carry/ own in Cali. So I do recommend if you have any questions or problems with Firearms you visit Frank at the shop and he'll straighten your path for you. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. read more

What's going on here?! Friendly, welcoming service? Check. Knowledgeable staff? Check. Great selection of firearms and accessories? Check. All under one roof! Who knew such a place existed. Have purchased three firearms from Cap. No issues. A few years back they had some primers at a fantastic price so I left work to go pick them up. When I got there I was told it's only one box per customer. I told Bill that I left work and hour and a half early to make it down before they closed. He bent his rules for me and allowed me to get the two boxes I came in for. read more

I'm fairly new and green when it comes to firearms. I'm on my second purchase at Cap and let me tell you...from the owner to his associates, you are sure to get genuine and amazing service. I went through Will on my last purchase and the gentleman is truly one of the very top service reps I've ever dealt with in any industry. Will is warm, welcoming, calm, and incredibly attentive and quiet listener. He knows what to ask if you need help and guidance getting to what's best suited for your interest and need. He's loaded with knowledge, passion, experience, and patience. He's happy to share his preferences if he was buying and also let you know the crowd favorites. And on top of it all, he's got an awesome sense of humor. truly, one of the most enjoyable shopping experiences I can remember having. Thanks so much, Will! As you can see, I love cap tactical, and my guess is you will too. read more

Great Mom & Pops shop good inventory and friendly service would happily return and support this small business

We originally came here about 8 years ago when we first considered a firearm. We had taken the gun safety classes and tested a few models at Firing Line Huntington Beach before settling on a Sig Sauer. Bill is extremely knowledgeable and talked us through the gun buying process. He pointed us to the Sig p226 M25, the California version of the standard Navy Seal issue. He also walked us through the complex firearm registration process as well. The state took the full 30 or so days to grant the license but we were able to complete the purchase. As for the standard how does a business treat blacks and women question? Bill and his wife treat you with respect, regardless of race and gender. You won't feel an impression you are being talked down to. He was very patient when my wife was making the decision to make our first purchase. read more

Came into this store to take my FSC test then straight into purchasing. I Just picked up my first firearm yesterday (6/21/2025). I went with the Springfield Hellcat Pro. Customer service at this shop is excellent. Aside from my firearm, I also purchased a Pelican gun case, headphones, eyewear, and a cleaning kit. Variety of firearms and items, accessories. Highly recommend this store. Definitely returning to this store for any of my wants or needs. read more

Keeping this review short and sweet! Lol Had a very good experience with CAP Tactical. They are also pretty up to date on their Instagram page and will reply to messages/comments usually within the day. Parking: never had any issues finding parking here. I would recommend them for sure! read more

Great bunch of guys. Such a pleasure to do business here compared with the folks down the street....

These guys are thee best !!! Super professional, super customer service oriented with none of the standoffish , attitudinal BS that you will get at other gun stores. Easy experience taking my gun permit test , they took me through the firearm I was looking to purchase and gave great advice. 100% excellent from the time I walked to the time I walked out. You can tell these guys value their customers and honestly I don't care what kind of business you are dealing with nowadays, that is heard to find. Highly recommend read more

I rarely get on Yelp to write reviews but my experiences at CAP Tactical have been so great that I had to get on here and share. This is the number one gun store in Southern California hands down. Customer service is outstanding! I'm always greeted and treated with respect. Questions are answered in a polite manner and these guys/gals are all top notch. Lots of knowledge and very helpful. I'd recommend this place for experienced and first time gun owners. I've purchased all my firearms and most of my ammo from this place and their prices are unbeatable, in a time when other stores decided to take advantage and start marking up their prices, CAP Tactical remained fair. Heck I wouldn't blame them if they did but they didn't! I'd also recommend you follow them on Instagram to keep up with their latest inventory. read more

Found this cool place while I was looking for a service weapon. They have an amazing selection and the staff is always so helpful. After striking out at other locations, I was able to find it here. Great prices, awesome service and a wealth of knowledge. This is now my go to place. read more

What can I say about this place? This is my go to firearms store. The demand for firearms is at an all time high. With that said, you just have to be patient. Whether that's trying to get a hold of them on the phone. Or, waiting in line outside of the store. It all really is random as to how busy they are and isn't there fault. This is the case at almost any firearms store currently. The shop itself is well organized and clean. I've purchased a couple of firearms here with no issues. The staff works as quickly, efficiently as possible and are very courteous. There's not one complaint I have about this store. Best part, they post on social media what new ammo or firearms they have frequently. My last two purchases have gone through Bill who's the owner. Very knowledgeable and willing to help. Thanks again guys for the help and painless firearm purchases. read more

CAP Tactical Firearms - Guns & Ammo Near Me - Lawndale, California

***Long Read Ahead*** Arrived today around 11:30 am this morning and there were 3 employees, two of which were already attending customers and 1 employee which was inventorying ammo and pricing it who greeted me upon entry and let me know he would be with me once he was one with his task at hand. He asked me If I was there for pickup which I said yes to it was an online order I was picking him. During this time there were only 3 customers in the store, myself and the two customers already being attended. During this time more customers began arriving and forming a line in another line next to the one next to me. I thought nothing of it. I was FINALLY called to the counter once the employee was done pricing the what seemed to be recently arrived ammo. When I walked up to the counter he asked for my ID which I gladly handed it to him, once he looked me with in the system the following conversation ensued; Employee: "oh you still haven't done the background for this" Me: "No well that's what I'm here to do and pick up the ammo I thought it was done at the same time". Employee: "oh we still have to do your background check, you were standing in the wrong line you will have to get back in that line" Me: *Looking at the line that was out the door now because of social distancing albeit it was only 4 customers* "Are you serious I was literally the only other customer in here before anyone else that means I would have been first in that line as well" Employee: "Oh yeah well that's why the signs are on the door outside that say for pickup and background checks" Me: "Come on man you gotta be kidding me I was literally the only customer that was in here before anyone else got here your just choosing not to help me. After that happened I just said forget about the order I'll call the site I ordered from and cancelled. When the employee asked me if I was there for pickup not once did they ask if I had completed the background check, had that been in the case I would have stood in the other line and I would have been first in line. I waited patiently while this numb nuts put the ammo away patiently even though It felt like the customer should be taken care of first. While waiting for him to be ready for me I browsed around a bit and decided I was going to take some other items on this visit as well. Instead I left with nothing but disappointment and frustration, exceptions can be made, every other customer saw that I was there before them, they would have not argued the fact that "I was in the wrong line" what a poor experience I wont be going back and mind you this place has a hand full of firearms with what I saw were ridiculous prices, go elsewhere and avoid this place at all cost. read more
