As soon as I walked in the atmosphere was cool and relaxed. I was greeted with a friendly hello and a handshake. LAX Ammo has a good stock of everything one could want in ammo selection. The service was quick and efficient! A great place for all your ammo needs. Highly recommended. read more

Worse website ever! How do you get prices for ammo? Plus impossible to enter caliber of ammo you're interested in and just look at that rather than have to scroll through each brand. I've heard good things about this place but unless I'm missing something it's frustrating to not be able to look up what you're looking for easily. After all the sell ammo right? Then why not show what you sell? read more

Great place to buy in bulk if you are looking for more ammo. Definitely recommend people to go they have great prices. read more

LAX Ammo OC - Stocked up on some 9mm, 45, and 223 for a really great price - Sports Wear Near Me - Huntington Beach, California

Great place, they are helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. I highly recommend. They also have a nice variety and take appointments for pick up, so you can call ahead for faster service, they do get pretty busy. read more

Fair pricing, but the downside that I noticed is this location doesn't offer any type of military or public service discount. For those of us who shoot a lot, it's helpful to cut costs where we can. Regardless, this place always has good stock and fast service. I'd like to see more accessories, but their ammo selection is plentiful. read more

this store is awesome (given that it is in CA) because they are doing a great job of making ammo as easy to get as possible while keeping everything legal and sustainable. That way all of us have continued practical access to pretty much whatever kind of ammo we need. The real danger in CA isn't that guns or ammo will be completely outlawed; it's that they make it so burdensome that the businesses decide to close up shop because they can't make any money. Also the folks that work here are very helpful and know a lot about their products. read more

The service and knowledge Anthony Viking and Keith provide are priceless. The promotions for ammo are always great. I enjoyed being a buying customer and discussing different topics and absorbing info from Anthony, which I know I will be a loyal customer from now on. read more

My usual ammo/gun store was closed so I popped by here as a first time customer. No complaints! Staff was very friendly and offered a few suggestions. Price was right as well. Will definitely be back again. I didn't know they didn't sell firearms here so just be forewarned, this is an ammo only store. read more

Bought reloads usually never had an issues with them in the past but had a bad batch which I contacted the guys from LAX ammo. The Rep Anthony addressed the issue with excellent customer service. He was very nice and made sure I was gonna be helped despite my dilemma. Give these guys a raise! Thanks again! read more

When you walk into a store to buy merchandise you should be greeted with friendly staff not employees that don't seem like want to help. Don't know if it's usual for gun/ ammo shops to have staff be condescending and make smart remarks when you ask questions about their products. I'm a consumer coming into a shop for help on selecting products not smart remarks to make you want to never come back. read more

Wish I grabbed their names, but I was helped by a super tall dude and a ginger guy with a sick beard and huge biceps. Both EXTREMELY friendly, helpful, and professional. Not only helped me but answered all of my questions and made sure I got the best bang for my buck. Ammo here is always super cheap and they have everything you could need. Kudos to those guys!! read more

Very rude employee the cashier was so disrespectful and rude there's too much competition to put up with a disrespectful rude employee. I guess they thought I needed to do business with them I just walked out of the store I will never go back read more

LAX Ammo OC offers one of the best selections of ammunition with a wide variety of options to choose from. Pricing can be hit or miss depending on what you are looking for. I've been at LAX ammo OC many times and my customer service experiences also vary. The good positive shopping experience should come from all employees not just one employee. One suggestion for the owner would be to consider offering atleast a small discount for first responders such as police, firefighters, EMS personnel and U.S. military veterans. Even a small gesture of appreciation could reflect positively on the store's values and strengthen its reputation. read more

This review is not an indictment of the store itself, nor the employees. On the contrary, the store is a nice place to shop, with friendly people, and a decent selection of ammo, and accessories....HOWEVER! Beware of the remanufactured ammo. I'm not sure where or how their ammo is reloaded, but the 400 rounds of 45-70gov ammo I purchased, and ultimately paid almost $1000 for (including the CA sin tax), is absolutely worthless!! Most of the brass is also unusable due to a massive amount deformation caused by expansion against the unburned powder left in the chamber and barrel of the rifle. This ammo was tested using a brand new Ruger manufactured Marlin 1895 SBL 45-70 lever gun, and barely able to hold a 10" "group" at 100 yards, and some rounds completely missing a 12" target. I tested with 100 rounds of the LAX "ammo" thinking there may be an issue with the rifle, cleaning the barrel every 20 or so. The chrono I used was a Garmin Xero C1 pro. The ammo spread was 331-338 ft/sec with low of 1696 ft/sec and high of 2028 ft/sec on the session recorded in the picture below! All the other tests were similar or worse. In Contrast, I've since purchased 3 different brands of Factory ammo and confirmed it definitely ISN'T the firearm that is the problem. Just to shorten up this review, I'll attach a sample of chrono results of the other three ammo brands tested, and you can look at the results yourself. Obviously reman ammo isn't going to be as good as factory ammo, but I'd do better using a slingshot than shooting this ammo! I'll post a follow up target of the factory ammo soon, just as verification it isn't the rifle or the shooter that's the issue. read more

Great place, with super friendly people, and good selection of ammo. Checkout was fast and easy. I would recommend LAX Ammo OC to all my patriot friends who are avid 2A supporters for all their local ammo needs. read more

Bought some magazines for my Glock that weren't feeding well and went to return them. Was told I couldn't since I had opened the packaging which was understandable, but the explanation came off as unnecessarily rude, like I was stupid for buying the wrong ones. My first visit had great service, which made this experience disappointing. Hopefully just an off day, but it left a bad impression. read more

Came here yesterday to pick up some ammo. These guys run their system a little different but it seems really efficient. They do the background check right off the bat, then you get whatever you're looking for from their huge selection of products and then pay and be on your way. Prices seem decent, even though ammunition is freakin expensive right now. Only downside is they don't sell stuff for muzzleloader weapons, but that's not anything I would knock them for. read more

Colton at the front is the real deal. Epic amount of help and knowledge. He made an address change on my account super easy and walked me through every step of the way. I had recently moved so I couldn't buy anything but I did hear him assist other customers And I will only be coming here in the future for any ammo or firearm purchases moving forward. This place truly earned my business in the help, energy, and vast inventory. Thank you again read more

Parking is tough to get parking. This place gets busy. Be prepared to show your ID in order to enter and look. They have a good assortment of ammo and the price is fair. read more

Huh? Whats up with this place? You only sell ammo so you're supposedly buying it in bulk? You're way more expensive than any local LGS by 6-7 bucks a box. Drove here to get a deal. On your site you preach this and that about prices and then you come to the store and hella sticker shock. Will stick to RifeSupply, Rifle gear shit even Turners is cheaper than you. read more

Great ammo, good prices! Quick shipping and a great selection. Will buy again! You can't go wrong!

Place is an ammo shop... they DON'T SELL GUNS! . It funny how it's posted every where. The staff is exceptional the prices are "GREAT" for todays standard! Over all great experience! read more

Wow. So it has been 4 months since my last review... doesn't help with quarantine and all keeping many from venturing out! Anyways, I discovered this store while I was in OC and decided to look for places to buy ammo as all the stores near me are completely sold out!! Yelp lead me here and they did not steer me wrong!! This store sells only ammo and some basic supplies, buy mostly ammo. Do NOT come here to buy a gun because they do not sell any!! Anyways, they are pretty well stocked on ammo, and yes, prices are much higher than pre-pandemic times, but if you need ammo, you do not have much choice. Follow them on instragram to see when their new shipments come in. The worker told me they get new shipments probably 3 times a week. Also, do not come to buy ammo if you do not already own a gun because you cannot do that! They have all sorts of ammo in all grain sizes and calipers. If you want special bullets, they are at the front. Those can run a heafty price tag at well over $1 a bullet, upwards of $2-3 even. If you are looking to save a few bucks, you can buy the store brand, which comes in 500 count and an ammo box for $355. Other bullets range from 60cents and up. The workers here are friendly and helpful. They made the process quick and easy. They check your ID at the door and enter in the information. I am guessing to do the ID check. If you are cleared, $1 is added to your total for the background check. The line can get long, since they seem to be the only store with any sort of stock. However, the line moves fairly quickly. When I went, the line was around the corner of the building, but I was able to get in in about 30 minutes. A previous time I went, there was no line at all. If you do not want to wait, I suggest going on a weekday. I waited in line when I went on a Saturday. If I need more ammo in the future, I will be coming here for sure!! read more

I came in here a couple of months ago to get some range ammo. After talking with one of the staff members he brought up a good point I didn't think of. If I'm practicing with range ammo but my home defense ammo is different, how good will I be? I was trying to save money but I'm glad he made that suggestion. I finally made it to the range recently and tried out the four different suggestions he recommended. I'm glad I did since there was a noticeable difference. I know the majority of the variation in patterns was me but I did narrow it down to a couple of choices. If that day comes that I have to defend my choice in ammo, I feel more confident based on the options LAX Ammo provided me. Thank you guys. read more

I had such a great experience here. Robert is great. I went in looking for a safe, knowing absolutely nothing. There was no pressure, just good information. I ended up getting a vaultek safe with Bluetooth, which wasn't something I knew I wanted until I saw it. Pay the extra $15 for Bluetooth. If the maids (or anyone) tries to open it, you're notified on your phone. So cool. The place is clean, well lit and they have a dog. Give Yvette a little love when you're there, she's a very sweet pup. My wife even likes this place and she doesn't like anything. read more

Went in with my son and was told he could not go in because he doesn't have ID. He only had a high school ID, but that was not sufficient. My son said no problem and went to the car to wait. I asked what was the deal with that and the dude checking ID's said "we protect out store and we don't care what you think. After 20 plus years in law enforcement, buying tens of thousands of rounds, I can't believe LAX Ammo would put a wanna be, beard boy with a power trip at the door. Great place to buy ammo! They have an extensive inventory and several different brands, so I'm always able to find what I need, and their prices are reasonable. Everyone who works there is really nice and very helpful, taking the time to completely answer my questions respectfully and honestly. I'll definitely be back again and again. read more

While the rest of the country and literally the entire world is trying to help each other, this place decides to get greedy and capitalize on the situation. I drove an hour to the store because of an instagram post they made saying they have bulk ammo. They proudly claim they cant give pricing out and you have to come in because they're sooo busy with customers. They could easily post pictures of pricing and save everyone time. This is greed at its finest, and they make NO apologies about it. Do you guys think this is ethical? I dont know about you, but I dont trust vendors that blame customers and take no responsibility whatsoever. Just lol at their sarcasm. Edit: For the third time, I'm NOT going on about the increase in cost. And dont condescendingly speak to me about supply/demand, supply chain and manufacturing, trust me, I know plenty of how all that works. My issue is with how you're responding to this crisis. You literally admitted your business is growing by increasing staff and my point is that you should be transparent with your prices instead of wasting CAPITALIZING on it and being GREEDY by blatantly saying you cant disclose the prices? Go look at every single post, you have people asking about PRICING. And again, your response to an upset customer is truly classy, lol. read more

Me and my buddy went to get some ammo for our range day. The guy behind the counter was a complete jerk. I was informing my buddy what he needs. The associate thinks it was for me. Which it was actually for my buddy. Minded we both gave our IDs and have our records from previous times. The cost of ammo is a little pricier than other places. The guys was rude so I took the ammo back to the ammo section. The associate was so furious that I didn't place where it "belongs" nor he was unprofessional and rude with his bad use of language. So we left without buying anything. I will no longer recommend this place nor go here. read more

Quality selection, knowledgable non judge staff and a decent price. They follow the rules and are thorough in the verification process.

I bought my Walther PPK/S 46 years ago. I struggled for 7 months with the CA website CFARS after being denied twice when attempting to buy ammo. The website is impossible. I looked up ammo/gun stores and found that LAX Ammo had the best information about CFARS. I went into the store and talked to them about my problem. Holden was on duty and gave me information that assisted me greatly in getting approved to buy ammo. A glitch was that my firearm had been registered about 2014 and it was hard to find out how to tell DOJ that (i.e. what form to use and the info they wanted). Although there are several firearms dealers closer to my home, LAX Ammo is absolutely my go-to location for future ammo purchases, read more

Amazing just amazing. I am thankful to Keith here for making sure my paperwork was in order. California stupid ass libtards for these unreasonable and grueling paperwork checks that only benefit the government since they charge for background and registration with their lame system. This place discriminates people. I can here to buy some 9mm ammo last week. They checked me at the door and said I did not qualify to buy anything. I told them I just bought a gun from Turner a few months ago and one from ammobros last week. They insisted that I cannot buy anything and if I wanted to buy from them then I have to bring them the paperwork from Turner or ammobro that I actually got the guns. This place is a bunch of BS. I went back to Turner and bought 1000 rounds of 9mm. I never come here again read more

Came to this store on a Friday afternoon. Overprice ammo! What can I say!!! It shows one prices on the LAX Ammo website, but it's always more expensive at the/this store. How can a California based company doesn't ship to California customers???? I rather deal with the 5 box limit of ammo at bass pro shop for 16.99 for a box of 9mm. Won't come back and many people won't come back either. Just check out CAGuns on Reddit and it's a field day there for LAX. read more
