In the middle of our Disneyland trip, my husband's HOKAs had a issue. Looking for nearby shoe stores, we decided to make the journey out to this REI location, about 30 miles away from Disney. This REI location is in Huntington Beach California. The store is open from the following hours Monday - Saturday: 10:00 A.M - 9:00 P.M Sunday: 10:00 A.M - 7:00 P.M The store does offer curbside pickup which is available until 15 minutes before closing time. This REI location has a wide range of camping, hiking gear, footwear, clothing, electronics and so much more! There is also a in store bike shop that offers tune-ups, repairs, diagnostic, flat repairs and so much more! My husband ended up trying out a few different shoe brands, but ended up buying a pair of Brooks sneakers! He liked how the shoes supported his feet. It was a different style than HOKA though! The team member at REI whom was assisting us was amazing! The team member was able to provide us with different shoe sizes and brand recommendations. We were able to at least get a new pair of shoes for walking around the theme parks!

REI is a Mecca for outdoor adventure enthusiasts and aficionados alike. They have been around since 1938. They carry all kinds of gear for any and all outdoor adventures and recreation. It is an outdoor enthusiast's toy store. I could spend hours looking at cool products. I am picking up a new backpacking tent today and I'm super excited to try it on my next backpacking trip. The service is good but on a busy sale week or on the weekends, you may have to wait a little before you can talk to someone. You should do your product research on line to narrow down your search before going in. Generally, their stores have lots of parking spaces available out front. Depending on what you're looking for, Their prices can range from reasonable to pricey. Nevertheless, it is a wonderful Store and I recommend checking it out.

+ Wide selection of outdoor gear, including backpacker's freeze-dried food, sleeping bags, and waterproof hiking shoes. + Ample parking. ~ Sometimes plenty staff available to help you, sometimes short-staffed. A couple times I saw several customers waiting around and only 2 or 3 employees present to assist. Sometimes only one cashier assisting people at checkout. I would've liked to stay a lil longer and learn more about the advantages of leather hiking boots over hiking shoes, but due to the seeming shortage of staff and my needing to leave early, I had to cut my time there short and settle with the hiking shoes. + Polite, helpful, very knowledgeable staff. - Many hiking gear qualified for the Labor Day sale today. I seldom shop at REI, but unfortunately the one time I shop here, the Moab 3 Waterproof Men's Hiking Shoes, the only thing I needed from REI, weren't part of the sale. - For that matter, almost everything here is exorbitant. + Conveniently located in Bella Terra and right by the 405. Thank you Donald, Stef 144922, and Shannon for telling me about REI membership and helping me find the right fit hiking shoes for me.

Great customer service unlike at Dicks across the street. I felt like a tourist here bc I haven't been in here since my kids went to college, I quit skiing after injuring my knees. My daughter just did the 30 miles biking marathon n she wore the Pearl Izumi biking pants, she told me it was the ultimate design, it had padding so your butt don't hurt biking 30-40 miles. What I love about this design is how cool it looks and it's so comfortable plus it has 2 deep pockets on each side to store your iPhone n keys n glasses wo looking bulky. The $100 price is outrageous bc it's made in Vietnam, it got me very upset when I was in VN n was told they got paid nothing the folks are so poor all the savings fr moving factories to China n more saving moving to VN now are pocketed by big business not passed to consumers. Come here for all your sporting needs, great and fast service.

I do love this store if just to wander aimlessly and just look around. For those not familiar with them, it's an outdoor store with higher end gear and clothes. Great for camping items you wouldn't think of with emphasis on luxury comfort as well as practicality. Be sure to check clearance racks of clothes as you can find some great deals sometimes if you hunt. They have dressing room as well and a nice variety of outdoor shoes. When you checkout you'll see local stickers for cars and other unique items so take a look. Always seem to have pretty of cashiers available so even when it's crowded, lines move quick.

New Vasque boots! They run a full size small and wear thick hiking socks when sizing.

REI is a great business model for any outdoors enthusiasts and one of the keys to enjoying the best possible experience and annual savings is becoming a member, which entails a one-time $25 fee for a lifetime membership. Not bad when you consider the generous 10% dividend on every purchase you make throughout the year. On January 1st they reset your account and mail a coupon with the total dollar amount, which can be substantial if you make frequent or large purchases. In store or online it doesn't matter. We came to the Huntington Beach location because the Tustin location did not have my size in a particular model of GTX hiking boot by Vasque, a big name in the industry. A lot of the best hiking gear is tagged with European companies, such as Solomon, La Sportiva et al. Anyhow, the drive was worth the rewards, boots that fit perfectly and associated dividend. We also liked the gentleman who helped us. That's also when I examined other mid-rize hiking boots that I eventually added to the collection. This store is a lot smaller than, say, the Rancho Cucamonga location, but it's half the size of Tustin, my personal favorite. Nevertheless, they carry the full lines and can get anything from another store or help you reserve stuff via phone. Parking is ample and nearby stores close pretty early mid-week so keep that in mind when planning shopping trips

Five stars--hands down. Anyone who would give a negative rating must be the perfect sole-proprietor…read moreof a small business themselves with no bad days or just a pretentious silver spoon snob... anyways Kevin at HB Cycles is the real deal cyclist. I first rolled in over a year ago needing a derailleur adjustment and a crank. He guaranteed his work and adjusted it without charge when I messed it up a few weeks later... Over the year he has become not only my only singular bike mechanic but a genuine friend. He has helped me countless times; I cannot say enough good things about him and his skill sets. No up-sell, no attitude--just straight-up help. Hanging out in the shop or by talking with neighbors who have had the same experience; I've watched ( and heard via word of mouth) him do the same for half the neighborhood: local guys on cruisers, kids on e-bikes, I've even seen him give bikes away to those in need. Even those not in need but just dig bikes like myself lol He's patient, knows every bike like it's his own, and actually cares if you're out there pedaling instead of sitting on your couch. Actually every bike I've pointed out as being eye catching and visually stunning have been custom bikes built by Kevin the owner/operator. This place isn't just a shop--it's keeping Huntington Beach moving! Fresh air, sore legs, stupid grins--Kevin gets it. If you ride, go see him. You'll leave faster, happier, and confident that the best bike guy in town torqued your wheels down properly :)

An unfortunate decline in customer service and workmanship over the years, under new ownership…read more When guys like Tim, Elliott, and Cameron worked here, this was one of the best bike shop's around. Unfortunately, the new owner seems overworked, overwhelmed, and not all that interested in the customer service aspect. We used to take our bikes here for the whole family, and no matter the issue it would be resolved. Now, we are finding rude behavior from the owner, who seems to be the only one working there, and sloppy workmanship. We've recently brought in two bikes, both of which we paid to have repaired but the problems have not been resolved and the workmanship has been lacking professionalism. Twice now, we have been given back bikes with a DIY approach rather than a professional bike mechanic. If I want something jimmy-rigged together, I'll do it myself, not pay someone else to do it. And, when you ask the new owner about these things, he gets defensive and upset, and rather than addressing the issue, says he's too busy and pushes customers out the door. I hope to update this review someday with a change in attitude, but truthfully, I don't think we'll be going back. This very unfortunate for a local business that should be thriving on local and loyal customers. Be nice. Be kind. Be honest. It goes a long ways.

Above and Beyond--Every Single Time…read more I cannot say enough good things about the team at Rad Power Bikes in Huntington Beach. From the moment you walk into the store, you're met with professionalism, genuine friendliness, and a level of customer service that feels increasingly rare these days. I recently had an issue with my e-bike, and at the same time, I was facing an unexpected surgery that meant I wouldn't be able to pick my bike up myself. Without hesitation, the team at Rad Power Bikes stepped up and truly did me a solid. They expedited the service and went out of their way to make sure everything was handled smoothly during a stressful time for me. That kind of care and consideration says everything about who they are. A special thank-you to Anthony, who worked on my bike and absolutely got it done for me. His skill, efficiency, and attention to detail were outstanding. It was clear my bike was in expert hands. I also want to recognize Dan, the service manager, along with Steven and JT--all great people. Every time I go into the store, they're personable, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. They don't just help you and send you on your way--you actually learn something from them. They've fueled my growing enthusiasm (and maybe obsession) with riding e-bikes, and they do it with patience and genuine enthusiasm. I honestly can't imagine a better team of e-bike professionals. Every single person there contributes to an atmosphere that's welcoming, professional, and supportive. They are simply the best at what they do. If you're considering an e-bike--or already own one--this is the place to go. Rad Power Bikes Huntington Beach has earned my trust and my highest recommendation. AJS

Pow-Pow-Pow-Power Wheels…read morehttps://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=EFlcV3OyaD4XngJdOp8O9Q&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Rad Power Bikes had a promo for a free e-bike of choice contest. Customers had to test drive 2 e-bikes in order to enter. E-bikes have been on my radar, the cost being the hindrance as to why I'm not zipping around on one, right now. Seeing this a lucky opportunity to score an e-bike, a visit for a couple test drives at Rad Power Bikes was what was in store. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=MR0ieJ03mMSS2E-BdGwpJQ&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA The staff at Rad Power Bikes were friendly & hospitable, obliging me with my questions and giving a quick run through about riding their bikes. The 2 test drives were for the Expand Plus & Trike. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=nAvugmPhOabjwyGPYHgNjw&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=DI_RfDyJFe3K27P87tTGDQ&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA I immediately fell in love with the Expand Plus, as a folding e-bike is what I'm looking for. The pedal assist makes distance riding a piece of cake, and full throttle is a fun way to zip around. The Trike, on the other hand, was a different experience. Turning proved difficult at first, as the trike seemed to overly lean to the side, being back heavy. Fortunately, I became accustomed to making minor turns than major, but still wasn't comfortable riding. Rad Power Bikes is located in the north end of Pacific City in Huntington Beach. They also validate parking in the adjacent structure. If you're in the market for an e-bike, then visiting Rad Power Bikes is a great way to see if they're right for you.
