The guys at HIT are cool, except for a guy named Tom who builds AK47s. Since there is no way to rate Tom the builder, I have to do it on the whole shop. On January 22 I took in my hand-select(matching numbers) Maadi parts kit and NDS-1 to Tom and when I went to pick up my rifle, he had taken MY parts and installed them on someone else's receiver. When I asked him to put MY parts on MY receiver, he suggested that I just keep the gun the way it is, it's legal. He said, "What, are you attached to these parts?" Excuse me? Does this guy just grab parts out of any box and throw stuff together? How keeping a receiver that isn't mine is legal, I don't know, but why do you have to do a DROS if your gun(receiver) is transferred to someone else? I insisted that Tom fix the issue and he did. Tom did not test fire the rifle, is that normal? I went to the range and my AK kept getting stuck(not going into full battery). Over the course of two months, several unanswered calls and reply texts from him days later, my rifle works. It is now April. He said he would reimburse my gas expenses for the 5 unnecessary trips to the shop I had to make to get the rifle to work. To this day he has not reimbursed me. On a side note, I had asked for a quote on a side-rail scope mount. When I picked up "my" rifle, it had the mount installed which they charged me $75 for. I also asked for a quote on making the furniture look nice. When I picked up the rifle he said, "I didn't touch the wood, I like the original look." Um, who does this rifle belong to? I paid $300 for the build and to have all the parts parkerized(he didn't park the crutchfold so when I took it back to get MY parts on MY receiver, he parked the crutchfold) and $75 for the side rail scope mount I didn't necessarily want. This is a working fire arms shop. The inventory changes often so I stop in every couple of weeks. I was relived to find a firearm shop that treated you like a humane and not a number. I am not one to commend or give referrals often.. The gun smith on duty Wayne is always helpful to answer all my questions. They have a verity of fire arms. Rifles, hand guns and in house AK 47 and 74 builds. " lots of ammo on hand " .. You can also build your own AK 47 or 74 with them. And don't forget the CeraKote and Parkerizing.. All my fire arms are running smooth.. They are set back in a business district but it is easy to find. When you are going North down Central ave., right after you go over the rail road track just turn into the first driveway and go to the end of the business district and there they are.. I'm still somewhat disappointed in the service I received at this establishment, but the gun I purchased has held up well enough that I feel I should improve my score. I've now put more rounds than I can keep track of through the shop-built AKM I purchased around 6 months ago. Aside from the wood's finish and purchasing the missing tension plate, everything has held together far better than I expected. I personally won't be returning to this shop anytime soon, but I'll reiterate from my previous review that this may be a good shop for you if you are only purchasing a gun straight from the display. If for some reason you do choose this shop to have any assembly/gunsmithing work done I would look for alternative shops or, if possible, wait to pay until after they deliver. read more

Great experience and knowledgeable staff. Found a nice Taurus 605 357 mag that was on the California allow list and that I wanted to order through an ffl dealer. Turners outdoorsmen and bass pro shops were both over crowded and seemed bugged that I was there for that. Then went to ammo bros in Ontario and got the same vibe. So I came to yelp to find a gun shop. That's when I found hit armory. I got on the phone and asked them if they can order me a gun I liked online. They quickly said yes and started looking up my gun. They found it and told me that they could help me with the purchase. I quickly went over there and was happy to see that it wasn't overly crowded. So I was able to get all my question answered and my 357 ordered. Of course I had to wait the ten day before I got it, but they even told me what was the earliest time I could get it. Went in to check them out based on reviews and location. The SHOP - Wasn't blown away by the shop itself, but I should know better not to expect too much from a local gunshop. It's small, but has a decent spread, and like most all shops, if they don't have it, they can order it. Plenty of parking, and easy access. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. - 4 stars for shop. SERVICE - There were two other guys in the shop when I walked in, and two guys behind the counter. Didn't wait more than 30 seconds before I was asked what I needed. Both employees were very friendly and courteous. I needed to get some night sights installed on my HK. Wayne did it the same day, for half the price of another local gunsmith. - 5 stars for service. Will update once I've had a chance to hit the range. Overall, a very good experience. I will definitely go back for future smithing needs. read more

I worked in the service industry and have never had such a poor experience. I brought a pistol in to get worked on. The work was suppose to be done 5 days later. I show up and it hasn't even been started. They call me back later that day and say it was easier than they thought and it was done. I come back and it's installed improperly. They say they will work on fixing it. They call me 2 days later saying they don't have the equipment to do it. When I pick it up, they say there is a $20 charge for the work. Then I'm told it should be $55 but they are cutting me a brake. A brake for not doing work? If you are a gunsmith and can't do gunsmith work, maybe you should just sell firearms. I was then told to leave and never come back if I didn't pay for the work that wasn't done. No problem. I won't be back. Don't bring your weapon here for work. They did seem pleasant enough to people that were buying. I won't be shopping or getting anything done here. read more

What a great place with great knowledgeable individuals. My husband and I discovered Hit Armory through yelp as we just so happen to be down the street for other business. We decided to stop in since the day before we checked out another gun store,which shall remain nameless, and we were less than impressed. We just wanted to check some items out and do some pricing, but shortly after arriving, the vibe of the business had us talking and getting along with everyone. Soon, our short trip turned into a couple hours of talking, asking questions, sharing stories and signing paperwork for a new handgun. We knew we didn't need to keep shopping around. We will most definitely be back for more items to add to our collection. I highly recommend that Hit armory is on everyone's list regardless of your gun level knowledge. This place is small but it's got that all american, pro 2nd amendment, anti Obama charm, and I love that. The guys are friendly and really helpful when it comes to advice on what to buy, and I've never felt pressured by them. Usually if they don't have what I'm looking for, they'll tell me where i can get it. They also seem to know a lot, especially about ak's, ar's and prepping, which is awesome. They don't carry a huge variety of accessories, but all the basics are covered at this shop. I always go to HIT before any other places because I'd rather support them instead of the big stores. Unfortunately I haven't always found what I'm looking for here, so I do end up at the big stores sometimes, but the experience at this shop is always pleasant and makes up for everything else. I'll say it again, the staff is awesome, easy going, and they seem to keep it real; no fake smiles and bs while trying to get you to buy garbage. I've never really bought ammo here because their prices are nuts, but that's ok because they're nuts in most places, and thats understandable. Anyway, I'm giving this place 5 stars just because it's becoming my goto shop for anything firearms. read more
